~The next day~
'Damn who left my curtains open?'
I reach my arm up, trying to feel the velvet black fabric. But nothing but empty space passed through my fingers. I force one eye to open, meeting Roxi's living room.
'When the hell did I get in here?'
I sit up, my head pounding as I see a note in front of me. It's from Roxi.
'Hey, I'm going to be heading to work now. There's some aspirin and food in the kitchen. ^-^'
I shake my head, placing the note back neatly on the coffee table right where I had found it. I poured myself a glass of water as I thought about how I even got here. While the medication took its course against my hangover from hell, the events bringing me here came back blurred and unorganized.
'I remember watching Mnet with Jiminie. Then I remember having a few drinks and now I'm here.'
Knowing Roxi, I doubt she'd done anything with me while I was probably drunk outta my mind.
'I'll just ask her when she comes home.'
My phone starts ringing, I quickly take it out, hoping it was her. Only to have my heart drop to my stomach when it was just Kookie. Why am I like this?
"Hello? Kookie why're you awake so early?"
"Hyung, I need to tell you something."he says, his voice was strained and soft.
"Ya, what is it?"I couldn't help but feel the slightest bit of worry, even though I had no idea what was going on.
"Hyung please don't freak out when I tell you."
"Fine fine, Kookie what is it?"I ask, coming this close to barging back into my dorm.
"...Tae is missing. He isn't answering his phone and manager-nims have no idea where he is."
"..."
"..."
"Did you try tracking his phone?"I ask, shaking my head once I heard more silence from the other end."Fuck it, just leave it to me. I'll find him."
"Really? You? Outside searching?"
"Stop insulting me alright! I'll find him by noon, if not I'll just find him by night time."I answer,"I'll just stop by the dorm room to pick up some things."
"Okay thanks hyung. The others and I are at the main building right now if you want some help."
"Thanks, I'll bring him back soon."
I end the call and sigh. Taehyung is so troublesome. Maybe this was just one of his moods. Since the company doesn't seem too worried over having him missing. It happened quite often after all.
'I guess I'll need to find him myself.'
~Time Skip~
I'll been walking through Seoul for a few hours now. I haven't realized how chilly it was, even thought it was nearly the end of summer. There are so many places I haven't even visited yet, I've lived here for what?...Ugh, It isn't important I'm just gonna guess four years or something. My hands were tucked into my leather jacket as I walked past a park entrance sign.
'If Tae was missing he'd be here. For sure.'
My logic slightly doubted itself. But this is Tae, he hates being indoors for too long and prefers being outside and hidden in the general public. This place is my best bet.
'Besides this was where his IP was tracked too last.'
It was around noon, I guess finding Tae was harder than I thought. I grabbed my phone, pulling up my contact list as I debated whether or not I should call Jungkook over to help me out. But I guess my pride took over me, I put my phone back into my pocket. With that, I begin to walk through the park in search for my friend. I realized the smallest things, it was strange, I started noticing things I wouldn't normally notice. How the leaves rustle in the trees, people's judging eyes, clouds that slowly shifted through the sky, maybe I should go out more often. If it wasn't for all the leg pain. Children quickly ran around me, it was like I was just a man made of pure intimidation. I stopped by a park bench facing a small man-made lake. The water was sparkling in the light and if I looked close enough, I could see the small ripples of the liquid. Maybe someone skipped a stone, threw a coin, or just plain trash into the water right in front of me. Something caused those ripples to start.
"You seem lonely."
'That voice.'
"Hyung? What the hell are you doing here?"
"I wanted to take a little break, so I snuck out."Jin says, sitting on the bench next to me with his hands behind his head as a pillow."Jungkook told me you were looking for Taetae."
"Yeah, Tae's phone sent a signal that told me he was around here a while ago."I face the scenery again."I can see why."
"Why, because it helps destress you from work?"Jin asked,"If there weren't any buildings over there I'd start thinking we'd be in the calm countryside."
"Yeah..."I sigh, pulling my mask higher up over my nose."But to be honest, it's the exact opposite of calm. There's too much going on, this place makes me think so much that my head starts hurting."
"Well, that's the great outdoors for ya."Jin chuckles,"And whenever I ask you to go out to eat you tell me to ask someone else."
"Yeah, sorry about that."I say, fidgeting with my phone in my hand."But I don't like going outside unless I absolutely have to you know. I end up having these cliche-ass moments that make me question myself. It sucks like hell."
"But here you are."he says, looking at a few flat stones by the bench."That's really nice of you to go off and find him by yourself, but ask for some help next time. We're all with you."
"That's a lie."
"What do you mean by that Suga?"
I get up and put a hand on his shoulder,"Taehyungie isn't with me right now."
Jin stays in a seated position on the bench while I stay standing, maybe if I walked away quick enough I would be able to go off searching to Taehyung once more. But Jin stopped me with a question.
"Suga, you wanna bet?"Jin asks, picking up a stone from the ground.
"What kind of bet?"I ask, take a hold of a stone he had handed over to me.
Jin walked over to the edge of the lake, just enough for the tips of the soles of his shoes to hover over the water."Whoever makes the most skips will pay for lunch."
"I never agreed to go to lunch with you."
"But you didn't say you wouldn't agree."
"Tch, sorry I don't have time for games like this."I say, preparing to toss the stone into its previous home in the clearwater."I'll end up using up my entire paycheck to buy you lunch anyway."
"Fine, then how about we change things."Jin proposes, staying in his place in front of me."How about, whoever has the most skips will be able to ask the other person anything."
I raise my brow and look at him calmly,"It's not like you're hiding anything from me. You're an open book, so why do you think I'll need to know anything about you?"
"It's more like, I want to find out what you're hiding."Jin says, tilting his head at me innocently."What, are you saying you're hiding something from me?"
"No."I answer sharply.
"I don't think so."Jin chuckles,"I know you Yoongi, you hide many things."
"If I hide many things, wouldn't that make my secrets insignificant compared to other people's?"I point out."Ask someone who doesn't hide much like Hoseok, or Taetae. They might actually tell you something that's important."
"That's not the reason I'm asking Yoongi."Jin starts,"I'm asking you because you know in the end, I'll always find out what's on your mind."
With that, he threw his stone. It made three skips before sinking into the bottom of the lake. He then turns to me with a waiting expression, his arms crossed as I looked at the lake and then to the flat grey stone in my hand.
"Fine."
'If he wins, he'll ask me about Roxi. It's only fair if I ask the same to him.'
I flick my wrist and watch the stone leave my hand.
One.
Two.
Three.
Four.
'If being a stone in my next life meant I would be thrown around by people, I would've given it more thought when I had the chance.'
