Chapter 1 - 초보자 (CHO-BO-JA)[Newbie]

"And this is your dorm room."said my manager in her unusual helium voice, handing me my keys."Your pets and boxes should be in there by now. If you need anything don't hesitate to call the front desk. Your schedule is on your desk, you will not need to practice until tomorrow so get some rest alright Roxi."

"Yes, thank you ma'am."

She smiles and walks toward the elevator at the end of the hallway. I looked my door, admiring the chipping wooden bark and the scratched door number.

I slowly opened the door to see my puppies run up to me, barking their high-pitched barks. The soft jingling of their collars knocked me out of my trance as I looked down at them and 'shoo'-ed them back into my dorm. The rule on pets was different here, I could keep all of them with me in the dorm, but I couldn't bring them out of the room unless it's for personal activities like walking. Since, I don't really know if any of my neighbors were allergic to the little guys. I closed the door and bolted it shut.

"Oi, oi, oi, oi, oi. Kai-chan, Lloyd-chan, Jay-chan, Cole-chan, Zane-chan! Away from the boxes, you might tip something over!"

The five just circled around me, looking up with adorable innocent eyes. They really were such a pain, yet I couldn't help from smiling. I'm glad uncle adopted them for me. I end up talked to them in Japanese, instead of Korean as a way for me to practice. The small living room was cramped with many boxes or various sizes. I sighed and heaved up the smallest ones first, putting them in my bedroom, which looked exactly like the living room; excluding the adjoining kitchen. The bathroom was in this room; so I sorted out my stuff in there as well. I opened the large boxes in the living room, placing my clothes into the drawers of the dresser next to my bunk. As the sun slowly set, I was finished with unpacking.

"I should take a shower, ne? I'll give you five one just you wait."

I giggle, talking to myself while fishing through a drawer for a towel. I took a quick shower and washed up the dogs as well. I changed into a large black wool-knit sweater that reached the tops of my knees and some spandex shorts. I sat in the empty, naked-looking living room that only had my dog's bed, feeding bowls, and carpet.

"Hey, do you five think we should get some furniture? Well, I don't really care what you say. We need furniture soon. I'll buy some tomorrow- Oh, after practice tomorrow."

I look at old clock on the wall and sighed, looking at the piece of paper in my hand.

"6 o'clock. Time for dinner!"I pour some dog food into each of their bowls as well as water before grabbing my keys."I'll be back soon, I just gotta see unnie. Don't be too loud okay."

I slip on a pair of dark magenta mesh converse and a black beanie, looking at myself on my phone and fixing my crystal necklace before locking the door behind me. I jog down the stairs and hurry across the street to a small facility, reminding me of a traditional restaurant back where I lived. My hand clasped the door handle, using all my petite strength to get it open. It swings shut behind me and I coolly walk inside to see some of my BigHit oppas and unnies; who didn't spare me a glance until someone seemed to call for me.

"Ah you must be the new rookie!"smiled an elderly woman who quickly came up to me and squished my cheeks."Roxi correct?"

"Y-Yes."I confirm, rubbing my red cheek."Nice to meet you unnie."

"Ah, such good manners. Now come over here."she led me to a table near the corner, an area where there were more females who now smiled and waved at me."You look fatigued I'll make you some noodles right away, is that alright?"

"Yes please, thank you."I smile, waving back to the idols.

Unnie nods and walks back to the kitchen. I took out my phone and put on my headphones, pretending to be unaware of the stares and looks some of the idols gave me. In fact I could recognize some of them from other companys. This place was like the underground where idols could hangout without saesang fans or press invading their lives, it was like the rules made my all companies were ignored here and we were all just normal young people who made friends and had fun. I haven't been here as a trainee, but to be honest I thought this restaurant would be more fancy, right now it looked like a food court at a standard mall, not that I could ever complain about food though.

"Hello."

I look up to see a very beautiful woman. She was not new to me, oh no, she was Lim Jeong-Hee! I knew she went to BigHit but I didn't know she had the same asiggned kitchen as me. I took my my headphones and smiled.

"Hi."I greet.

"May I sit here?"

"Sure."

She takes a seat in front of me and calls unnie for her usual, before facing me and holding out her hand. I take it and give it a firm shake.

"Lim Jeong-Hee. Are you new here dongsaeong?"she asks.

"Yes, I just moved into the dorm today. I'm AJ Torrez, but I prefer Roxi."

"Nice to meet you Roxi-ah."

"You too Lim-unnie."I smile.

Our food arrives and we start a small conversation about MV setups and expressions. Once she even told a joke only for it to fail, still making us laugh out of our own awkwardness. Once we finish we thank unnie and collect our things.

"We should talk more often."I propose.

"For sure. Goodnigh Roxi-ah!"

"G'night Lim-unnie."

She leaves first while I put on my headphones and choose a song. I should start writing my own songs soon. I walk out, following a few of the other idols to their dorms until I reach my own building. Still, there were many behind me and in front of me. Instead of taking the elevator I turn to the right to take the stairs up, I wouldn't want to stay stuck up in an elevator with that many people. I bobbed my head to the song, hearing faint footsteps behind me. I ignored it, but it felt as if they were following me up to my room. I looked lifted up my phone screen to my face to pretend I was looking at my hair, as I saw a reflection on the screen.

'Is that...J-Hope? J-Hope, Jin, and V? They must be my neighbors...BTS are my neighbors...What a time to be an ARMY.'

A mischievous thought came to mind once I reached the hallway with my room. I spun around and jumped forward.

"Boo!"I shout, surprising all three of them, making them jump at least two feet back.

"She's scary! Scary scary scary!"shivered J-Hope, huddling into Jin for protection.

"Oh my god!"gasped Jin wearing a startled expression.

V stood there, pausing for a second before covering his wide eyes with an embarrassed smile. I bow and smile.

"Hello, I'm Roxi. I think I'm your new neighbor."I introduce myself."You guys must be Bangtan right?"

"Right."smiled Jin."I'm Jin. This is Hoseok. And this is Tae. Glad...to meet you?"

"Hehe...right..."I chuckle awkwardly."Well, it's nice to meet you three. I hope I'll be able to meet the others soon."

I turn around and walk to my door, unlocking it and waving awkwardly at the group before closing the door softly. Making sure none of my puppies escape.

"I love being embarrassing."I say to my puppies."You five should try it sometime."

I go to my room and change into an orange dbz t-shirt and black basketball shorts. I washed my face and got ready for bed. I walked out to see what I could do to the living room tomorrow.

"I can move your beds to the bottom bunk so I can have room in here. Then I can put your bowls over in the kitchen. After that I just need to buy a couch, TV, coffee table, curtains, bookshelf, snacks, kitchen utensils...um...lamps, side-tables, and some tall legged chairs. For the bedroom, maybe a side-table, lamp, another bookshelf, and mirrors. The walls are already white so maybe I could buy some fun colored furniture for once."I said to my dogs, who already fell asleep by the listing."Then I can invite friends over! Aren't you excite-...oh you're all asleep. Guess I'm just going crazy."

I need to wake up at 4:00 am the next morning for breakfast, then I need to head to my dance studio that's about a mile from the dorm. Someone already took the dance studio in the basement of the dorm so that choice was out. I climbed up the metal ladder and landed onto the bed, which was actually comfy enough for me to sleep; if only my thoughts weren't spinning.

"I can't imagine how many idols lived in this exact dorm. They really took great care of this place. And it has a good view of the other rooftops of the city. Maybe I can go to the roof for a photo shoot sometime. I can't wait to release my new MV. I can't wait for my debut! We're taking photos tomorrow at the dance studio! The clothes are going to be so pretty! I think I'll stop practicing my Japanese now. Oyasumi!"

I smile to myself, trying to calm down my excited heart. Being an idol is actually really fun.
