☆Fiyero's POV☆Glinda was almost finished making breakfast. Chistery was given a few bananas as he was used to taste testing, but didn't have to with Glinda.

"Where is she?" I asked. "Shouldn't she be back by now?"

"She couldn't have gone too far." Glinda stated.

"Help!" A little girl cried out. Forgetting my fiancée for a moment, I ran outside. The girl had bright, purple skin.

"What happened?" I asked.

"A lady with green skin used magic on my daddy." The girl replied. I noticed a burn mark on the girl's hand left similar marks to Elphaba after she cries too much. Elphaba knew exactly what was going on and used her anger to stop it.

"Glinda!' I called out. "Get your bubble! Now!" Glinda ran out.

"What happened?!" Glinda shouted.

"It's Elphaba!" I exclaimed "She's in trouble!" I ran into the forest. Glinda and the girl followed right behind me.

I walked into history class to see Elphaba attempting Glinda's hair toss. To be honest, I only show up to class to see Elphaba. I could care less about anything or anyone else. However, Glinda thinks we're together, so I can't ask Elphaba out. I began laughing. Elphaba shot me a look.

"What?" Elphaba asked.

"Nothing," I replied. "It's just... You've been 'Galinda-fied'. You don't have to do that, you know?" That was when Dr. Dillamond walked in.

"Alright," Dr. Dillamond stated. "Take your seats, class. I have something to say, and very little time to say it." I went to my seat near Elphaba.

Talk to you later Fae. I thought.

"This is my last day here at Shiz," Dr. Dillamond stated. "I am no longer permitted to teach." Everyone gasped in shock.

"No." I hear Elphaba whisper.

"I want to thank you for your sharing your enthusiasm," Dr. Dillamond stated. "Your essays, no matter how feebly structured, and even, on occasion, your lunch." Mme. Morrible rushed into the room.

"Doctor Dillamond!" Mme. Morrible exclaimed. "I'm so dreadfully sorry!" Elphaba stood up from her seat.

"Madame," Elphaba hissed. "We've got to do something."

"Miss Elphaba," Dr. Dillamond stated. "They can take away my job, but I shall continue speaking out." Two men came into the room.

"Come on, goat..." One of the men snarled. The two men dragged Dr. Dillamond out.

"They are not telling you the whole story!" Dr. Dillamond called out. "Remember that, class! Remember that!" They dragged Dr. Dillamond out completely. Elphaba ran to the front of the class. A third man came with cage.

"Doctor Dillamond!" Elphaba thundered. "Well, are you just going to sit here in silence?!"

"Miss Elphaba," Mme. Morrible stated. "There is nothing we can do. Please take your seat." Elphaba went to her seat.

Poor Fae. I thought.

"Good afternoon, students!" The third man exclaimed.

"Good afternoon." Mme Morrible stated.

"Every day," The man stated. "With every tick of the Time Dragon Clock, in every corner of our great Oz, one hears the silence of progress. For example: this is called a cage!" The man pulled off a cloth that was holding a small lion cub in what appeared to be a tiny prison.

What the hell?! I thought.

"Now," The man stated. "We will be seeing more and more of them in the near future. This remarkable innovation is actually for the Animal's own good..."

"If this is for his own good," Elphaba questioned. "Then why is he trembling?"

"He's just excited to be here," The man stated. "That's all." The man hit the cage. I flinched.

"This is cruel." I mumbled to myself.

"Now," The man stated. "As I was saying, one of the benefits of caging a Lion cub while he's young is that he never, in fact, will learn how to speak."

"What?" Elphaba asked. The man motioned everyone forward. I just stayed put.

"That's right! Come closer!" The man cheered. Elphaba looked over at me.

"Can you imagine a world where Animals are kept in cages and they never speak?" Elphaba asked.

"Now," The man stated. "He may seem a bit agitated but that's easily remedied." The man pulled out a needle. Elphaba began to panic.

"What should I do?" Elphaba asked.

"I don't know, Fae." I replied.

"Well," Elphaba roared. "Somebody has to... Do something!!!" Suddenly, sparks began to fly and everyone except Elphaba and I began to move uncontrollably."

"What's happening?" I asked.

"I don't know," Elphaba replied. "I got mad...andd -"

"Alright," I stated. "Just don't move. And don't get mad at me..." I grabbed the cage and began walking away. I looked behind me.

Elphaba.... I thought.

"Well," I asked. "Are you coming?" Elphaba began running after me. After some bantering, we entered the forest. I went to leave after thinking she didn't need my help, but she stopped me. That was when our hands touched for the first time. From that day forward, I vowed to myself to make sure no harm came to Elphaba.

Present Day....I reached Elphaba, who was on the ground. I ran over and picked her up.

"Fae," I pleaded. "Please, wake up Fae. Please wake up." Elphaba slowly opened her eyes and looked at me.

"Yero," Elphaba whispered. "I used up too much strength.... There was a girl in trouble..... She...."

"She's okay." I stated. "I'll take you home to rest. I'll get Dr. Pichler took check the babies." I kissed Elphaba's forehead.

At the cottage, Dr. Pichler stated that the babies were fine, but Elphaba was to stay in bed for a couple of weeks. Glinda looked at the little girl.

"What's your name sweetheart?" Glinda asked.

"Ione." The girl replied.

"Ione?" I asked. "What happened to your hand?"

"My daddy was punishing me for being bad." Ione replied. "When the green lady arrived, he turned into a scarecrow with wings and flew off." Glinda appeared mad.

"How old are you sweetie?" I asked.

"Four." Ione replied.

"Ione?" Glinda asked. "What happened to your mommy?"

"Mummy went to sleep forever." Ione stated. Glinda's heart shattered.

"Well," Glinda asked. "Why don't you stay with me for a few weeks. We can figure something out for you, okay?"

"Okay." Ione stated. Glinda then placed some hashbrowns in front of Ione and started talking about Ione's favourite things. I chuckled and went to go check up on Elphaba.
