Chapter 7 - Question and an Answer
20:27, 3 February 2012Andromeda Dumbledore's P.O.V.
The days were creeping into weeks and soon the weeks turned into months and still she hadn't heard from her friends. Harry, Ron and Hermione had gone to find what they called the horocruxes, but she already knew about them. What she didn't hear from them, her grandfather usually told her, there were very few things her grandfather didn't tell her. She did get a letter from Molly Weasley telling her that Sofia was safe and sound and getting big. Sofia was eight months old and already starting to talk. She saw her over vacation and heard her call her mommy. She always smiles when she hears her call her that. On the night stand next to her bed in the dorm she kept a picture of Sofia with the son of Remus and Tonks sleeping together in Sofia's crib. She always smiles when she looks at the picture, a picture she knew she would never get to share with Severus. She got up out of bed and looked out the window, it was almost christmas and it was snowing. It looked beautiful outside, but things have gotten so much worse on the inside. She, Neville and Luna formed a small rebellion with other Gryffindor's a few from Hufflepuff and Ravenclaws to try and take back the castle, but they were still working on a plan. The Slytherins, still wanting to please their head of house and now headmaster, took to spying on the other students. She wanted to get the up rising started soon because they were running out of time. She could feel it, something bad was going to happen and it was going to happen soon. She felt a blanket wrapped around her shoulder as she looked to see Luna standing behind her. She had a small cut on her face, probably got into a scuffle with one of the Slytherins or one of the death eaters lurking around the castle. Andromeda knew that Luna could defend herself though. Two years ago when she was in her fifth year Harry had taught a bunch of students how to defend themselves and taught them the biggest protection spell. The patronus charm. It took Andromeda a long time to master it, but when she did, it was quite powerful. She looked to Luna and smiled pulling the blanket tighter around her as she followed her to the common room where a few other's from her rebel group sat around the fire. They were talking about something and a few of them were laughing. Ginny Weasley sat in the corner staring out the window, and Andromeda knew why. "He'll be alright" She say down next to Ginny and conjured up a cup of hot chocolate. "He's a strong man, and at least he cares about you to" "What?" Ginny looked at her after taking a sip of her hot chocolate. Ginny didn't know who the father of Andromeda's baby was, just that she had a one night stand and ended up pregnant. "I wasn't entirely honest with you, i do know who the father of Sofia is" Andromeda looked out the window as the snow fell harder. "He ummm ... i had to much to drink one night and... i still don't know how i ended up with him, but when i woke up and realized what i'd done, i hated myself. I hated myself because apparently i only have the courage to sleep with the man i love if i'm drunk" "Who?" Ginny asked softly. Andromeda sighed, she knew that Ginny would probably be angry if she told her, so she opted not to. "You probably won't know him" She sighed. "I told her father she was dead, because he betrayed me, betrayed me so bad it still hurts and it always will, i don't know if i can ever forgive him, but i do know that I will always love him. He choose the wrong side of this fight Ginny, and to protect her, i told him she was dead. I made the mistake of loving someone i know will never love me back." By the end of it Andromeda was in tears and Ginny had wrapped her arms around her. Andromeda was shaking, her body shivering as she tried to stop her tears. Neville and Luna came over to see what was going on and Ginny explained that she had been told close to what was the truth and that Andromeda was upset about it. Andromeda managed to stop crying as she looked up at her friends. They were all concerned for her. She couldn't have asked for better friends. Neville took her hand and smiled softly letting her know everything was going to be okay. "Andie" Neville spoke softly she looked at him. "if you really want to know why, why don't you ask him?" "I can't, i don't want to see him never mind even see him" "So send him a letter" Andromeda liked his idea. She wanted to know so bad she was willing to do almost anything to find out. Though seeing him face to face was still out of the question. She doesn't want to see him more then nessicary which these days is three times. They were all required to go to the great hall for all three meals a day, no one was able to skip eating, or people would end up in the headmaster's office, so she decided it was better to spend an hour in a crowded great hall, then a few hours in his office alone with him. She made her way to where her owl was sleeping. She pet the owl gently before pulling out a quill and paper. She wrote a small letter. It read:Professor Snape: I was writing because i have two questions for you. How did we end up drinking together and the most important why did you sleep with me? Please if you could find it in you to answer me, i would appreciate it"Thank youAndromeda.Severus Snape's P.O.V. He leaned back in his chair in the dinning hall. He watched the students from tired eyes. He hadn't been sleeping much and Andromeda's obvious ignoring has taken its toll on him. He had hoped she would been her usually defiant self, so she would be called to his office, but she was not giving him the satisfaction. He watched her sit with her group of friends and he knew, he knew what they were doing and what they were planning. At the very least he had a good idea and though he knew that she and her friends had not hope for succession, he would pray that they would succeed, and maybe she would kill him for what he did. He wouldn't deny her, her revenge and he wouldn't stop her. He wouldn't fight her, if the time came that she wanted to kill him or that she could, he would let her. He watched her as she smiled briefly at something the Seamus kid was saying and he realized he wanted to be the one that made her smile. Wanted to be the one to hold her when she cried, just like Longbottom had on the first day of school, even when she thought he was hiding her face. Severus wanted to be the one to take care of her, not her friends and not the Weasley. Deep down though, he knew he would never be able to take care of her, not after everything he had done. He sighed softly causing Minerva to glare at him from next to her. He shrugged it off and watched the students leave the great hall before he made his way to his office. Minerva on his heels, he didn't want her to follow him, but he knew that she was going to anyway so he allowed her in his office. "What is it, Minerva?" He asked frustration resting in his voice, He was so tired as was evident when he ran a hand over his face. His eyes closed for a moment as he sat in the chair behind his desk and then he motioned to the chair across for him. She took it. "I want to talk to you about Andromeda" Minerva was watching him to see if he would react. He did not. "She should not have been allowed to come back. She hasn't been in good health" "Then she shouldn't have come back" his tone snapped coldly and he watched Minerva flinch slightly. Nothing had been able to make her flinch, but since the war had started everyone had been on edge, even her. "If she wasn't in good health she should have kept herself out of school. I am not responsible for her or her actions." "No, i guess you wouldn't be" Minerva glared at him. "What is that suppose to mean?" He glared back his look colder then she could ever manage. He knew she wasn't a cold person by nature. "It means if you have take responsibility when the time was right she wouldn't be in the position. She wouldn't have had to bury your daughter" He actually let out a small look of shock. "Yes, Severus, I know the truth, she told me because she trust me. Now if you want to make this right you have to apologize give her an explanation, take responsibility." "Min.." He didn't get to finish as she walked out of the room slamming the door behind her. He made a face as the door slammed. he was deep in thought when the screech of an owl he's never seen before interrupted him. The owl was black, very beautiful with gold eyes and soft feathers. He pet the owl for a moment before untying the message that was tied to its foot. He opened it and even before reading it he knew who it was from. He recognized the graceful and neat writing. Professor Snape: I was writing because i have two questions for you. How did we end up drinking together and the most important why did you sleep with me? Please if you could find it in you to answer me, i would appreciate it"Thank youAndromeda. Severus frowned as he reread it numorus times before it sank it. She couldn't face him, ordinarily that would cause him to think the person is a coward, but he would never called her a coward. He completely understood her position. He sighed before he decided to respond. He couldn't tell her how they ended up in bed together but he could tell her why he slept with her. He took out his quill and a piece of parchment before writing three little words he never thought he would ever again be able to feelAndromeda,Because I love youS. Snape. He didn't send it right away and before he had a chance to send it the castle became under attack and he was called away to meet with Voldemort. He was so cowardice himself he never had the courage to send it.
