018: MOONLIGHT CONFESSION
Yoon-hee pov:
I ogled at the gifts given to the twins.
But I was really shocked by Eun-byeol's gift.
The star and moon earrings that the twins received were sparkling diamonds.
It was obvious that it cost so much.
The other parents looked at me as if they mocked me for what my daughter gave the twins.
I clenched my hands in secret. Smiling at them as I hide my discomfort from them.
I now understand why they invited us here.
They want to show us how different their lives are from mine.
To mock my daughter and me.
But I will prove them wrong! My daughter will also get that same treatment soon.
No! My daughter will get even better treatment compared to those twins soon.
"Yoon-hee shii. . ."
I turned behind me.
Su-ryeon, in a white dress, comes over to me. With a glass of champagne in her hand, she smiles at me.
Su-ryeon's smiling gaze unnerves me.
The way she smiles seems like she knows the truth.
'NO! That would be impossible! If she really knows the truth! I won't be able to live like this!'
'She doesn't know anything! Not yet!'
'And I will make sure she never finds out anything at all!'
I forced myself to smile back at her.
She invited me for a drink, and I followed her like a puppet to a puppeteer.
'For now, I will do whatever you want. . .'
"I'm so happy you can join us."
Suddenly, I can feel how alike she is to those people.
'You're also looking down on me, huh!'
'Hypocrite!'.
"So, how are you doing in your new home?"
"I'm doing very well. Thank you for helping me get a place in Hera palace."
She smiled again and held my hand.
"Of course! We're friends, aren't we?"
I almost puke at those words.
Why have I never noticed this?
Why haven't I seen this ugly side of her?
"Yes! Of course!"
. . . . . . .
She brought me to the lower deck.
It's like she's showing me her hypocrite self by showing me how great her life is.
The two of us stayed by the lower deck, enjoying the breeze and sea view while the yacht moved.
'If I push her now, no one will notice.'
'If she dies here, all my problems will disappear as well. . .'
'If only. . . .'
My hand reaches out to her.
I bite my lips as my hand goes back and forth while I think. . .
'There's no need to hesitate. . .'
'Just one push. . .'
'One push. . .
And all this will be over. . .'
My hand goes back and forth as she stands at the edge of the deck.
There's no rail or anything that will hinder her from falling.
Once I push her, I will be free from that night.
No one will know what happened. . .
And no one can stop my daughter's bright future.
'I just need to get rid of her, and everything will be fine.'
'Once I push her and take Ju Dan-tae's hands. . .
I can also push Cheon Seo-jin and. . .
I can finally get what is originally mine. . .'
'I can finally get what I truly deserve. . .'
'Just one. . . .push. . .'
My hand felt her back. . .
'Do it! Oh Yoon Hee! For your daughter! For her future! For a bright and happy life!!'
I smiled as I was about to push her. . . .
I could see the bright future of my daughter.
I saw her dancing on the stage, happily socializing with other people.
I could see her success. . . .
I could see it all,
All of that will happen if she disappears.
I closed my eyes with a smile as I was about to exert energy on my hand.
"Aunt Su-ryeon!"
My eyes open in shock. I pulled my hand back as both of us turned to where the voice was.
"Eun-byeol-ah. . ."
My shocked eyes fearfully gazed at Ha Eun-byeol. Cheon Seo-jin's daughter. She turns her eyes to me. Smiling at me like she knew exactly what I was about to do.
How she looked down on me with a smile made me tremble in fear.
My hand trembled at her sight as Su-ryeon walked over to her.
"Come on yoon-hee shii."
She stretched her hand out, reaching mine. I held onto her hands, not looking at the child who was clearly looking down on me.
'Did she see?'
'I didn't do anything wrong!'
'She can't prove anything. . .'
"What is wrong?"
"Nothing, we just finished dining, and it's the parents' turn now."
"Okay. . ."
"Enjoy your meal, auntie."
I listened to their conversation with my hand trembling in fear.
"Yoon-hee shii, what's wrong. Are you cold?"
Su ryeon turns to me and anxiously hands over her coat to me.
"I'm okay."
"Yoon-hee ahjumma, you should take care of your health. If you get sick, Rona will worry for you, right?"
My eyes locked with her mocking ones, and I saw it.
The evilness that she hides within them.
'She's exactly like her mother!!'
'How loathsome!!'
I internally glared at her.
When my daughter becomes more successful than her, I will make sure to remember this day and mock you for being the daughter of a thief!
. . . . . . .
Eun-bi pov:
I was getting bored with the others, so I left without anyone noticing.
I wanted to get a light breeze, so I was about to go to the lower deck to get my feet soaked in the sea while the yacht moved.
'Yoon-hee ahjumma?'
I noticed her with someone familiar, so I followed them.
I stopped a bit far from them when I saw aunt Su-ryeon.
I pulled my phone out and recorded a video of Yoon-hee's hands about to land on aunt Su-ryeon.
'Are you gonna push her?'
'Really?'
I glared at her while she pushed and pulled her hand away from Su-ryeon.
'You must have remembered your crime?'
'Should I let you push her?'
If I let you be, I can quickly call someone to save auntie, and you will also get caught in the act.
We can finally punish you, who murdered Min Seol-ah.
'Everything would be finished . . .'
But . . . .
'I can't put aunt Su-ryeon in danger . . .'
When I was sure she was about to cross the line, I knew I should do something.
"AUNT SU-RYEON!"
I called her, putting my phone behind my back.
I put a smile on both of them, my eyes focused on Yoon-hee.
The way she trembles in my sight.
The way her eyes fearfully looked at me.
'Yes, Oh Yoon-hee shii, I know exactly what you were about to do.'
I wait for them here while still giving Yoon-hee a knowing smile.
I smiled at Su-ryeon and smirked at Yoon-hee as I told them that the snacks were prepared for the adults.
I left them, and my hand hid my phone again, pushing the end button for the video.
I rejoined my friends who were still playing around.
"Eun-byeol, where were you?"
"I just went out for some air."
A coat covered me from the back, and when I turned my head, Seok-hoon smiled at me.
"It's a bit chilly."
He towers over me with a nonchalant face while smiling at our friends.
"Thank you."
. . . . . . .
Yoon-hee pov:
I paced back and forth outside Ju Dan Tae's private room.
'Do it!'
'There's no need to hesitate.'
'As long as I have Ju Dan-tae by my side, I can have everything.'
'Power,
Riches,
Influence
And most all,
Happiness. . .'
"For my daughter's future!"
I knocked on his door as I waited for it to open.
"Come in."
His words rang in my head.
When I opened the door, Ju Dan Tae was on the other side, with a knowing smirk on his face.
'That's right!'
'As long as I have him, I can have everything!'
. . . . . .
I jumped back as I opened his door again.
Eun-byeol is just outside looking at me with a smirk.
"Ahjumma."
"Yes. . ."
I straightened myself as I waited for her to speak again.
I close the door behind me as she speaks.
"That's uncle Dan-tae's room, right?"
"Ahh."
"What are you doing inside somebody else's room?"
"We talked about business."
"Ohh. . ." She smirks at me, looking at me with a knowing look.
"I wasn't aware you are also into real states."
"Of course. It's good business, after all."
"That's right."
Eun-byeol kept smiling at me, looking at me with a mocking gaze, and then she suddenly walked away.
She glanced back at me as if waiting for me to walk beside her.
I was curious about what she wanted, so I followed her to the deck.
'What could she want from me?'
'Is she here to confront me about what happened with Su-ryeon?'
'Does she know something?'
My hands started to sweat as she kept staring at the stars without paying no mind to me.
I suddenly have this feeling to push her over the rails. My hand moves forward as I have this urge to push her into the sea.
'And no one would even know. . .'
"So I was thinking about earlier. . ."
I stopped my hands and fisted them on my side.
"I'm not really interested in somebody else's hobbies, however. . ."
She turned to me with a dangerous look on her face.
"I was taught not to lie. So if someone asks me about that. . . I might just slip on my tongue."
She took her phone and played a video in front of me.
My eyes widen as I watch the video.
My body trembled furiously.
My hands tried to snatch it by reflex, but she immediately raised her phone up and then smirked at me.
"Now! Now! It's bad manners to steal things, ahjumma!"
She trailed forward like a predator hunting its prey.
My body moved back on its own while my eyes looked at her, trembling at her sight.
"Ahjumma, next time, please keep your filthy hands on your side at all times."
She started to move past me, just when she was about to be gone, she suddenly said:
"By the way, I am an excellent swimmer, so don't even think about it."
I slumped to the floor as she left the deck.
My body trembled.
'what should I do now!!'
. . . . . .
I was about to go to the others when Seok-hoon appeared before me. He looked serious.
I couldn't tell what he was thinking at all.
"Seok-hoon-ah, is there something I can help you with?"
"Yoon-hee ahjumma. . ."
He leaned on me and said: "I don't mind going to jail. . ."
He glares at me before leaving me there, incapable of exerting any energy to use my legs.
'Why do I keep messing up today.'
. . . . . . .
Seok-hoon pov:
I followed Eun-byeol, who was walking with Yoon-hee.
I watch over them as I watch her stretching her hand out and . . .
'No!'
Eun-byeol suddenly spoke to her.
'That's dangerous.'
I held the rail as I watched the two of them. How Eun-byeol says something and how she responds with fear.
As Eun-byeol leaves, Yoon-hee suddenly slumped to the floor, as if she had just lost the energy to even stand.
I gritted my teeth as I looked over Yoon-hee. The memories of what happened earlier popped into my head again.
Flashback. . . .
I was on the top deck alone for fresh air when I spotted mom and Yoon-hee shii on the lower deck. They were both near the edge, but mom was nearer.
I have always felt bad for mom.
I know how we treat her is terrible, but I also feel angry at how she always ignores us.
Seok-kyung was right when she said that mom is never there when we are in pain.
But still. . . .
I still miss the time when we are all happy.
I watch her look at the sea when I also notice ahjumma do something.
She stretches her hands back and forth.
'Is she going to . . .'
"Mom!"
I whispered as I watched what was going to happen.
I was about to shout for mom when I noticed her hand on my mom's back when someone else did.
"AUNT SU-RYEON!"
I felt relieved as someone shouted mom's name.
'That was Eun-bi, right?'
I breathed deeply as I looked at my feet.
I fisted my hands in anger.
'Was she going to kill mom?'
'Why?'
'How could she after how mom treated her like a sister?'
End of flashback. . .
I fisted my hands in anger.
'She almost killed two important women in my life!'
I waited for Oh Yoon-hee by the entrance to the deck.
When she finally appeared, my eyes trailed glares toward her and leaned toward her before slowly saying: "I don't mind going to jail."
I've never felt this angry before.
I can feel anger and sadness deep within my heart as I glare into her eyes before leaving her.
. . . . . .
I immediately went to find Eun-bi, but she wasn't with our friends.
I looked around, but she was nowhere to be found.
"Where is Eun-byeol?"
"I haven't seen her. . . Now that I think about it! You and Eun-byeol kept disappearing!"
Min-hyuk raised his brows together, teasing me about it.
"Call me if you see her."
I left immediately, looking for Eun-byeol.
"What's wrong with him?"
Were the last words I heard from Jenny as I ran away to look for Eun-byeol.
In the end, I found her on the top deck, alone, her eyes closed as the wind blew.
'She never learns.'
She almost died earlier, and here she is, closing her eyes without being cautious at all.
'From now on, I'll protect you.'
I wanted to call her by her real name.
I really want to, but I will wait for it.
I will wait for the day you can tell me about yourself, 'Ha Eun-bi.'
"Ha Eun-byeol. . ."
When she turned to me, I saw it.
I saw her eyes filled with weariness.
'She's tired.'
She got roped into this life because of what we did to Min Seol-ah.
She didn't even do anything wrong, but she's trying to correct our mistakes that are not even her responsibility.
Her eyes locked with mine as I walked toward her until I was in front of her.
Our bodies are near to each other.
The two of us stare at each other's eyes.
The tiredness and the sadness and something painful swim into her eyes.
The emotions reflected in her eyes mirror how I felt ever since my dad started hitting my sister and me.
'Why is the very emotion I hoped you never knew reflected in your eyes now?'
"From now on, I will protect you, I promise."
I cupped her cheek and smiled at her.
"Huh. . ."
"Please let me stay by your side. . . ."
I put my hand on the back of her head and pulled her into a kiss.
"I love you. . ."
"Be mine. . . ?"
. . . . . . . . . . .
