00: WAIT FOR ME

23:50, 28 August 2024

"I am Na-bi, a prima ballerina. I am a ballerina and the future of the Cheong-ah group. I am HA EUN-BI."

- Ha Eun-bi pov

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

PROLOGUE: "WAIT FOR ME!"

"Unnie. . . ."

"Eun-byeol?. ."

"What's wrong?"

A woman enjoying a glass of red wine stood up, looking worried as she held a phone near her ear.

"Help. . please. . . I can't take this anymore!!"

"Byeol-ah. What's wrong? What's happening?"

"Please help, bi. . ."

The woman placed the glass on the table and ran to her dressing room, changing clothes in haste.

"I'm coming home. . . please don't do anything and wait for me. . . okay?"

"Mmm. . ."

. . . . .

Eun-bi pov:

I paced back and forth, taking my things and putting them inside my bag.

While I do, my manager sits on the sofa, watching me pack my things in a panic.

"Look, it might not be that serious. Don't be so hasty, and let's hear from your parents."

"Pack my other things and ship it back to Korea. . ."

"I'm done with the training and also already received the trophy. I've done everything for my portfolio. There's no reason for me to stay here any longer."

"Eun-byeol has always been weak-willed. . . ."

I threw the vase to the floor when she bad-mouthed my sister and glared at her.

"Don't test my patience!"

I took my bag and left my scared manager in the room.

'Wait for me. . . Eun-byeol'

. . . . .

Crouched in the farthest corner, I buried my face in my knees and covered myself from the view. I haven't been able to sleep well after finding out about seol-ah's death. I keep on peeking at the door, waiting for my sister to come for me.

If I wait for a bit more, she'll be here. She'll know what to do. As long as she comes, everything will be fine.

"Eun-bi. . . please help me. . ."

'Eun-byeol ah. . .'

'Help. . . don't do this please. . .'

I keep hearing her voice. . .

I keep seeing seol-ah. . .

I tried to peek from the door when I heard someone knocking, but when I did, I saw seol-ah's dead figure near the door.

"Ahhhhhhhh!!"

"Please. . . leave me alone already!!!!"

I immediately took a coat and ran out of the room. I crouched on the floor while waiting for the elevator to reach the ground. When I peeked at my reflection, I saw my messed-up look and my tear-stained face.

"I'm sorry!!"

I ran through the hallway the moment it pinged and, without minding the looks people gave me, had a taxi take me to the cemetery where Min seol-ah lies buried. I have to do this. I have to see her and apologize.

. . . .

Eun-bi pov:

I ran through the hall as I came near the reception table where I could be assisted. I couldn't sleep on the airplane or on the way.

I keep calling Eun-byeol again, but it just keeps ringing without any answer.

"Hello, how may I help you?"

"Cheon Seo-jin's place, what floor is it?"

"What floor!!!!??" I screamed when they only looked at me, wary of me.

"I'm sorry, but . . ."

"Is not looking like Eun-byeol not enough of a proof of who I am!"

"WHAT FLOOR IS MY FAMILY'S PLACE!!"

"NOW!!"

The receptionist stumbled in, trying to assist me as they led me to the floor itself. We rode the elevator with the guards and the receptionist together, tapping my foot, anxious and worried.

"Hurry up! Why is this elevator so slow!!"

I keep hitting the floor with my feet as I try to contain my anxiety.

. . . . .

Seok-Kyung:

We just returned from having fun. It really is more fun when Eun-byeol is not around and drooling after my brother. The two of us played with Eun-byeol before, and she deeply fell in love with him. She still thinks my brother broke up with her because I told him too, and now she's blaming me for it.

"I think someone is making trouble. The guards are all over the place."

Jenny pointed at the reception, where the guards were all over the place, panicking. The ladies in the reception and a few guards guided the girl wearing a beige winter cape. She's very recognizable as she is wearing the same Dior beige winter cape yet to be shown in the market.

"Do we have a new neighbor?" I asked them to try to peek more, but I couldn't see her well enough.

I tried peeking, but her wide dark shades and wool scarf got in the way of the view. I saw guards leading her to the upper-level elevator, which means she's a part of the upper floor's residents.

"She rode the 60-99th elevator. She's definitely new. We would have known her if she had been living with us for some time."

"Hmmm. . . She looks familiar, though." I turned to Min-hyuk, the gossiping person in Hera palace. He knows everyone, so I waited for him to continue.

"Celebrity?" I finally asked him because he kept on thinking.

"Maybe. . . She looks oddly familiar, so maybe. . ."

I just frowned at his stupidity.

. . . .

I kept ringing the doorbells while the guards waited, and when the door finally opened, I rushed in, not minding the maids trying to get to know me.

"Where is byeol's room. . . ?"

They didn't answer, so I opened each door and found a room that I think is her room. It's all messy, and everything is scattered. Her phone is also on the ground.

"The daughter of your employer is missing from her messy room, and yet here are all of you. . . doing nothing. Did you even know that my sister left the house?"

I glared at all the maids who whispered at each other when I said Eun-byeol is my sister.

"You better pack your things! All of you are fired!!"

I reached out for my laptop and inserted the GPS drive I had installed.

'If eun-byeol is wearing the necklace I gave her as a gift, I might be able to find her sooner.'

I waited for the pinpoint of the location and then transferred the site to my phone. Before leaving, I stared at all the maids.

"Leave our house before I get here! All of you are FIRED!!!"

. . . . .

Eun-Byeol:

I kept my knees in a kneeling position and kept on apologizing to seol-ah. I know I did a lot of bad things to her. I honestly don't know what came over me. I don't even know what I'm doing right now. I just . . . followed my own body and let it take control, and before I knew it. . I already am here, kneeling and apologizing for Min Seol-Ah, who died simply because she is better than we are.

"I'm sorry!"

"Please forgive me. . . Min seol-ah. . ."

"Please . . . just leave me be. . ."

"Please. . . "

"Eun-byeol-ahh!"

Before I could even turn around, I got hugged tightly, and that is when I finally everything went black.

As if the chains gripping my heart loosened, I blacked out, leaving everything to the firm and warm hands holding me.

'It's fine now!!'
