The Warmth In You

It's not a usual morning  for them, because three of them dozed off and  got late for their work. The house is in   ruckus  

"sia.. Did you saw a  blue color file that I was  reading yesterday?"

"I think you left it on  the couch"

"eemo do you know where is my crayon box ?"

"look inside  the third drawer in  the living room"

athy was busy helping them more than she was getting ready  for her work

" sia the file is not here come help me find it "

"I feel like I am raising two kids now,I  never thought lucas would be  this clumsy, this lazy fellow" athy mumbled and  sighed

"wait a minute.." she said walking towards him.

"seriously... lucas are you blind..?!! it's right in front of you.. why are going round and  round in the same place..? "  athy shouted frustrated

" oh is it here all this time..?!! how come I didn't see it?!  I am sure I checked this place before " he mumbled taking it..

" open your eyes and search next time  " she said

" thank you " he said  running to the living room.

Athy sighed and followed him now everyone is  ready to go out . Athy crouched and checked ari's backpack

"  are you sure you didn't missed anything? "

" yep "

" good boy "athy kissed  him in the  cheek. When she get up lucas was standing in front of her still half asleep and skimming through the file once again.

' pff no wonder he can't see the file.. is he half asleep all this time?'  she saw his tie was crooked. She pulled him closer by his tie  which caught him off guard, he  is  surprised by her sudden pull yet he is still sleepy 

" you rarely go to office,and  when you are at it, can't you do it properly?"

she started nagging at him while redoing his tie. Strangely lucas felt warmth inside him, he unconsciously came closer to her and placed his head on her shoulder  snuggling his face  on her neck. Athy was surprised  by his unusual  behaviour. she standed still frozen. His breathe  touching her bare skin  felt hot

"lu.. lucas what happened?"

" shh.. Few minutes.. I am really sleepy"

he whined as he pulled her even  closer

She  felt butterflies in her stomach.

'what is he doing first thing in the morning?!! , compose yourself  '  she thought

" lucas get up.. let's go.. it's already late if you are that sleepy then just sleep, don't go to office".  She said

He slowly looked up at her with misty eyes which bewitched her for a second . She suddenly turned her face  away from him. He stretched

" no.. I have to go.. after all today's meeting is somewhat important. otherwise why would  I waste my time going to that noisy place" he mumbled looking pissed

  "I felt sorry for your friends.. you dump half of your works on them.. you slacker"  she said

"pff yeah yeah let's go"

he headed out first and saw the elevator was about to close he ran and stopped the elevator by placing his hand in the middle of the door, as the door opened the people in the elevator see a handsome guy standing there and stared   at him in  awe.

he turned and waved to  someone like  hurry up, then a beautiful girl entered with a cute boy. then he came in and they finally closed the door. going down everyone is starting at them. When they reached the ground floor, the three of them flooded out

" is there a family this attractive in our  apartment unit?!! How come I never seen them before ?!!! "

"I think both of them are working looking at their attires may be that's why we housewives didn't see them until now"

"may be they are late today" another one said.

" they are so beautiful are not they?!! "

" yes I thought they were celebrities.!! " .

" lucas give me the car  key I will drive " she said

" why..? it's ok you go and sit " he mumbled

" tch No... Give me.. You are sleepy  so  give me, go and sit "

she grabbed the key  from him and pushed him on the  seat and closed the door. Ari Sat in the back on  the baby seat. She drived Ari to school and helped him get down.

Ari looked inside to see his  sleeping uncle. They both giggled and Ari went inside. Athy drove to lucas' s office she was about to wake him up but stopped midway

' why does  he looks so tired today ? He always works until late night trapped in his room,  did he overworked ? I don't even know when is he coming to bed. I  feels guilty for not taking better care of him.  But he really seems pale today.'

She touched his forehead to check his temperature  which wakes him up to meet a sparkling jewel eyes

"huh,"

" oh my God lucas..!! You are running a fever!!"

her voice is filled with worry.

"should we just go to hospital?!"

"it's ok.. it's just a fever.. I will take tablets once I get inside.. don't worry" he gave a weak smile and patted her shoulder. athy slowly nodded.

"  oh  we are already in the  front huh? Then I will get going "

He tried to get up  but dizzily Sat back

" I don't think  You are okay lucas did you have to attend the meeting that much? "  she asked in concerned tone

" if you tell your friends can't they manage? "

she asked with one hand holding his cheek. looking at her face filled with concern for him. he felt  like his temperature raised  a few degree because of the warmness she gives him

' you really feel like  a winter fire in frosty weather, always making me warm'

while he is drifting in his own thoughts athy is calling out for him.

" cas... Lucas.."

" huh yes"

" I  really don't think you are okay, you are dozing off again what's the use of attending the meeting let's just go to the hospital "

" Haa I'm really fine sia don't worry" she looked at him with a doubtful face.

" then can you come to hospital when you finish the meeting?".

He chuckled at the fact that  how stubborn she was on this small matter.

"so stubborn huh? Then  I will go to hospital once the  meeting is over OK ?" he grinned

" I won't believe you, you will probably just lay down in your cabin rather  than stepping foot outside " she said in a serious tone.

" pfft, gosh how did you found out?"  he said with a weak chuckle

" I know it you lazy guy  "

" sia... Believe me I am really OK "

" when will your meeting end? " he was cut off by her

" hmm.. Around 2.30 " he obidiently  replied cause she is mad now

" then I will come and pick you up " she smiled

" huh? " he stared  at her wide eyed

" you don't have to its just a slight fever"

" then it's decided.. now get off, you are running late "

" you are just deciding everything yourself it's not even a conversation anymore "he pouted.

Athy is stupified by his response 'is he looks cute because of his fever?' she can't control herself and  chuckled.

" why are suddenly being cute..?!! get off already "she  shooed him out."

"then I will be back" she waved and drove away

" did she called me cute? Me?  Heyy no way, I  may be hearing things because of fever ". He said and get inside.

Lucas can't concentrate on the presentation. he  is shivering in cold the whole time but can't tell them to turn off ac since he don't want to ruin the meeting. he held himself as well as  he can. He don't get sick often, he is usullay strong but when he does.. it will take a toll In his body for sure

. He was starting to  get dizzy, as time Went by.. he don't even know when the meeting ended. kiel who noticed his state earlier took care of everything. It will be tough for him as max and stephen already have tons of work in their plates  but he can't let his sick friend  work so he didn't disturbed him and silently closed the door of the meeting room but he forgot  to turn off the ac. Lucas was shivering in the cold lying down on the table  he almost lost his consciousness. he wanted to hold the warm hands that cupped his face earlier . he suddenly missed her warmth.  He can't even open his eyes anymore and didn't even flinched.. lied there  motionless.

When every work was settled down and the guest all went back. kiel and others exhaled deeply and sat there tiredly.

" haah finally... Some peace, they are so annoying.. if  only lucas was not feeling ill,He should have shut their mouths easily" max complained

" waah that brat even get sick, at times like this he really feels like a Human" stephen chuckled

" no.. there was another time he looks like human no to be correct he looks kind of soft"

" what?! is there a time Like that..?!! how come i missed it ?  I should have recorded it if I can" max  said.

" hey yeah there is! we can see it often now, you already recorded it once max" stephen said finally understanding what Keil is  saying

" huh when did I... Haa... Yes there is one thing that made him  Look like human... Athy shi  and our Arius"

max replied  finally get what they are saying. ( shi was used in korean to use honorific it  means mr/ms/Mrs)

Suddenly the office get  bustling, workers are going in and out

" why its feels like our office is bustling today it's break time but it's never felt this bustling why are  they all  heading to the entrance and coming back..? is there any celebrity outside?  Or did our zara came out of poster ( zara is their game character)" stephen asked  lazily leaning his head down  on  the table.

" wow she is really so beautiful who does  she come to meet here? "

" don't know but I envy them. To know such a beautiful person they sure is lucky "

" who are they talking about? " kiel  get up from his seat  to see the person who is getting this much attention.

" huh... Athanasia? "

" what athy shi is here? "max and stephen jolted up from their seats

" where? " max rushed between the crowd and see her standing there uncomfortable by all the attention

" ohh dear.. It's your sin for being this attractive . "He sneered.

" you are lucky lucas is not around.. otherwise I may be visiting your funeral with flowers " kiel and stephen snickered.

" what? I am just telling the truth aren't they look like they are straight out came from webtoon and this keil guy and his fiancee too, why rich kids all are  genius  and beautiful nowadays, tsk life is unfair " max grumbled.

" man stop complaining my ears are gonna bleed " stephen scowled at him.

" athy what's brings you here? " kiel reached out to athy who was standing there nervously.

" oh kiel thank Goodness  you came!! "she sighed in relief

" haha.. I guess I came on the right time, are you here to see lucas.? "

" yep, how is he? is he better now? " athy asked with concerned face

" no, unfortunately he is worse now " max said

" are you here because he is not feeling well? " stephen asked.

" huh..  yes that's why I came, I told him to rest at home but he insisted on coming Hee for a  meeting so I came to pick him up. since he will never move out of  his seat unless I drag  him to the hospital " athy sighed worriedly

" wow.!! you really know him well, I am glad he have such a good wife to take care of him " max delightfully said which made her shy.

" come with me.. I will show you where he is " kiel escorted athy to the meeting room.

The employees got curious about the beautiful girl who made the vice presidents and ceo came in person to receive her and talk to her so friendly

" hmm... Mr. Vice president may I know who she is? " asked a curious employee who can't control his curiosity

" oh her... She is your boss's boss. " stephen said with a serious face which made everyone shock and get confused. Max pinched his arm

" speak properly.. don't make them confused , she is our president's wife that's what he is saying "

max cleared the air of confusion which soon turned the surrounding   a chaos

" what...?!! "

" president is married?!! "

" what?!! .. when?!! "

" she is the wife of our president?!! "

" so our ice cold president have a wife?!! "

everyone was amazed by the sudden fact bomb dropped by max

" if I made confusion, what have you done? You made our whole office into a chaotic place with just one sentence " stephen glared at him which max ignored

" everyone please get back to your seats "

max commanded which everyone obeyed but all their eyes were in the meeting room door, they are waiting for them to come out. When lucas was insensible, he felt the warmth that only one person can make him feel

'am I imagining things to fulfill my wishes?' he thought subconsciously

"cas... Lucas... Lucas"

'some one is calling me.. this voice... it's her's.. is she here? Does  she really come to pick me up...?!! she isn't... right? He  felt like his cheeks are patted soflty

he raised his hand and grabbed the hand that patted his cheek thinking it was a dream. Kiel who saw that excused himself out smiling . Athy was worried because he was not even budging and his fever  got worse in just  few hours

"  is this how  you take care of yourself? Come on  lucas.. let's get going.. atleast lie down in the car.. isn't it so cold here? " she searched for the remote and turned  off the ac

" so you really come huh? " lucas slowly opened his misty eyes, it seems like his pupils are more redder than usual which worried athy.

" you are awake? can you able to walk? "

he smiled and nodded his head. ' I think just by seeing your face I get a little better I can't believe I am saying all kind of cheesy stuffs now.. may be I am naturally talented in this but don't know cause I  never tried before? I feel like I finally lost it '

he was amused by his own discovery of his  new talent. he stands up grabbing the table for support and looked at her worried face for a moment

" can you walk?"

"hmm I can" he smiled faintly with his flushed face which made him look adorable. ' who will look adorable when burning from fever? is he is favoured by the God of beauty or what..? ' she  thought  looking at him. suddenly her heart started  beating faster bathump bathump

"lucas, Are you okay?"

he is hugging her tightly placing his head on her shoulder  burying his face on her neck . He nodded slowly

" just let me be like this for a minute"

he said faintly even  his breath which is touching her bare skin is burning hot   . Athy got worried and and gently patted his head with one hand and Holding his back with  another . He felt like he was pampered

' did  she thinks I am a child..? why is she pampering me? But... It feels nice... I wish... this moment stays  forever'

he thought. They were in that position for a while and athy patted him all along. Then he slowly raised his head and smiled gently

"let's go"

he said she grabbed his hand and went out hurriedly. she doesn't want to waste his remaining energy by dillydallying  anymore.

He was like a school kid following his mom just followed her with a carefree face

"then we will get going bye" she waved to the three of them"

" yeah bye.. take care luu"  three of them shouted to which lucas waved his hand

" haha he looks like a puppy with his face flushed" max snickered

" I am glad that he has athy now to take of him.. otherwise he won't even budge or heed to us and goes to hospital " kiel said with a satisfied smile

" yeah.. I am happy for him" max murmured  stephen nodded to their comments and three of them watched them getting out.

The employees were astonished by the scene they saw. their mysterious president who visits the  office only when needed with an  ominous unapproachable aura is gone.. all they can  see was a guy cutely following his girl with carefree look

" is he really our president..?!! he looks less intimidating now"

" looks like vice president is right she really is our boss's boss.. look.. she is dragging him out but he is following her like a puppy "

After a visit to the hospital, they are in home. Now lucas can't even open his eyes he was exhausted beyond limit he never felt this week, he usually just sleep it off with some tablets when he get a  fever but this  time he feels like his head is splitting into two . Athy helped him change his shirt which was wet from sweat and covered him in blanket and checked the temperature again

"it's a bit better now " she sighed in relief.

She saw him creasing his forehead , she patted his head gently. then after some time his foreheads turns back to normal when she  is about to take her hands off, he grabbed her hand which caught her off guard but she didn't take her hand away. Then he placed her hand inbetween  cheeks and pillow. And lied on her hand like a baby. She chuckled at his action despite being sad at his illness '

he really is cute when he is sick' she thought. She stood  up slowly and take her  hands off him when he is fast asleep.she  went to pick up arius from school.

when he opened his eyes she was not there. ' may be she went back to her office what am I thinking now? I should not bother her she was not here when I get sick before.. I should act like before' he tried to sleep again until he heard the door opening sound. He lifted his head a little and see ari running towards him

"samchon are you okay? Are you still feel sick?" ari asked and put his little hand on his forehead and other hand in lucas 's  forehead to check the temperature

"samchon you are hot what to do?" he asked with a worried face which was super adorable  making  lucas chuckle

'is he worried about me? Is that why he is making such a cute expression?'.

When he was about to ask something athy came in

"ari dear samchon needs to rest go wash up and eat snacks. I placed them on the dining table  OK? "

He nodded and run out of the room. Lucas is seeing athy with a stunned expression. She sits on the side of the bed and carssed  his cheeks

" are you okay now? " she asked with a face full of worries. She and ari both looked like a whimpering puppy to lucas when they are sad.

" hmm I am better. Why are you so worried? it's just a fever and what are you doing here? why aren't you in office? " he asked.

Athy glared at him for a while which made him confused

" you... Really... Haah forget it"

she sighed. When she was about to get up and  leave, He  grabbed her hand make her sit down again and placed his head on her lap.

She was looking at him stupified

" I asked you a question.. Don't you should give me a reply ?" he asked with his eyes only half open from his headache

" I was about to curse you but stopped   because you are sick that's why I am silent" she mumbled

"huh? Why..?! what did I do?"

' is she angry at me because I disturbed her schedule today..?'he thought and got  sad. he wished it was not the case but deep inside he can't resist thinking like that.

" yes you do" she said bluntly

' Haah I expected this'. When he was about to apologise she cutted him off and stunned him with a reply he never expected

" are you an idiot? you are burning up and can't even get up and you want me to leave you alone and go to work.. seriously..?."

she gently stroked his hair

  ".. To me.. Work is not more important than you, so  throw out your silly thoughts and get some rest.  do you thought I will leave you alone just  for work ? You are really  something for thinking like that...."

she scowled at him. He felt  warm feeling rushed  all  Over his body... overjoyed inside which he never felt before . Athy turned off the lights

" are you  still having headache..? you are creasing you forehead too much "

she asked concerned and gently  stroked  his black locks which he felt soothing.

He  turned his head towards her stomach snuggled  his  face on  it. She flet slightly ticklish but didn't moved or disturbed him. she continued to caress  his hair. He was overwhelmed with the warmth he is receiving from her

' it looks like..   by your actions my temperature is not going to go  down easily' he smiled which she noticed

' is he having a good dream.? he is smiling... If it's a good dream.. then it's ok'

she thought  as he is already fast asleep

"sleep well and get well soon"

she gently smiled and continued to caress his head.  Lucas who was wake but can't open his eyes heard it and smiled even  more

'hmm.. Being with you like this somehow seems like a dream to me... a very good one at that which I usually don't have'

He   slept peacefully and happily  on  the soft lap of her with her gentle hands stroking his head . he no longer  feels like his  head aches which helped  him fell  asleep.

' I wish to stay like this forever'. He thought
