Mom's Lullaby

Arius ran  out of the  classroom as soon as the bell rang. He saw lucas   waiting at the entrance and run towards him happily.

" ari careful  don't run"

he shouted then lucas lifted  ari up.

" did you like this school..? how was  today?" he asked little worried 

" hmm.. ari likes it here samchon, I played games today and sang rhymes with all and I also got two new friends I will introduce them to you  one day"

he said enthusiastically which made lucas happy. When he is  about to head to car he noticed everyone are looking at him and ari

" Why are  they all  looking at us like  we are showing circus here?"

lucas said irritated

"hmm..because you are cool and handsome samchon" Arius  said smiling 

" don't be so cheesy"  Lucas said  pinching  his cheeks and Arius giggled

"samchon... let's buy chochy for ari and eemo"

"yeah sure.. let's go"

lucas  said throwing  arius in the  air and catched  him making him giggle . athy came  home late and still had  work to do , but she hurried to Arius room and spend some time with him asking about his first day  playing with him . Lucas was busy in his office which he set at  a  room he mostly works at home.. he avoid going to his own company, max and stephen take care of other works in company as vice presidents and kiel take care of all the finances, lucas only focus on  game  developing and coding . Then athy also worked in thier bed  room with her laptop.

Athy looked out of the window while working, moist drips of rain dribbled gently on  the window glass and fog covered the glasses making outside blurry, sound of rain drops falling was pleasing to hear, she is sipping her coffee and enjoying the sight of rain. Athy checked time and realised she has been  working for almost four  hours now,  she went to arius  room to check on him

When she opened the door, ari was not there she searched all over the house he was not there. She knocked the door of lucas's office and asked if he know where he is.

"I don't know sia, he didn't come here let's search"

they both went back  to his room, lucas crouched down  to see if he is playing hide and seek with them but   shocked by the sight. Arius covered himself in blanket and  is trembling  sitting  at  the corner  of  the room under his study  table . He immediately carried him  along with blanket and tightly hugged him, he also hugged lucas  back still trembling

"ari... What happen..?!! are you scared?!! " lucas gently asked patting his back. Athy was shocked and worried to see him trembling

"lucas I think he is afraid of rain I should have stayed with him  from the beginning " she started to panic. Lucas grabbed her hand and yanked her towards him and hugged her with his other hand

" sia you too.. calm down.. it's not your fault.. let's all spend our time  together hmm.. ? "

both of them nodded  a yes . Arius didn't loosened his grip on lucas shirt athy slowly  took his little hand  kissed it and covered it  with her hands

" ari dear.. don't worry. we are not leaving.. we will always be with you "

" yeah.. don't be afraid.. samchoon will always protect you. so nothing will happen, samchoon is strong  you know that  right? "

ari slowly raised his head  his jeweled eyes  pooled  with tears and his soft fluffy cheeks were moistoned by tears looking pink,   lucas and athy got worried seeing that. athy  carried him in her arms and  hugged him close to her chest and leaned her  head on his  patting his back

" shall I sing you a lullaby?   Ari likes beautiful dreamer right ? "

Ari nodded his head silently it was his mother's favourite lullaby so athy knows it, athy started singing while patting his back

While  she was singing lucas and athy  moved to their room, lucas arranged the bed and athy put  Arius in bed and lied beside him lucas covered both of them in blanket and sit beside ari  on the other side and patted his head as athy finished singing ari stopped crying

" are you okay baby?" athy asked

"hmm I am okay.. ari was scared of thunder.. Sniff.. When we were in flight it was thunder which made the  airplane fall down.. mama closed my ears but still I heard it clearly I was so scared of hearing it.. Sniff" ari's eyes started to pool with tears  again.

Lucas and athy were so shocked that they stunned without saying anything. athy  was  worried how to clear his  trauma.

'what to do if it thundered when we are not around?' the thought of it made lucas  anxious.  Athy  was silent  for a while in shock and she reached out to her closet and took out a   jewel box.

"ari.. do you remember this?"

she showed a blue crystal hanging on a platinum chain

"oh it's mommy's!! ".

ari said trying to reach out his hand to get that  instead athy put it on his neck

" have this always with you, so mom will protect you when you are scared or in danger and if   we are  not around  okay.. ?" 

she said with a sad smile. Ari stared at the crystal for a while and slowly started smiling

" hmm okay" he said tightly holding  the crystal with his small hands  . Lucas felt  relieved see him smile a bit

" samchon.. eemo.. Can I sleep here?"

"of course that's why we put you in the  bed " lucas  said and patting his head

" you can sleep here whenever you want" athy said.

then both of them lied down and they  slept peacefully. ari was clenching the necklace, lucas and athy are hugging him tightly, after a while athy and lucas slept first due to tiredness ari was looking at their  hands holding   him, it was same as how he sleep with his parents, he felt relieved that he was not alone, he has  his samchon and eemo who loves him like his parents, he placed his little hands on their 's and slept  peacefully.

The next day athy don't want to send him school and take a day off from her work to spend some  time with ari although he said he was okay lucas and athy insisted on taking rest.

" then take me to amusement park ari Wants to play with you" he whined to lucas. Lucas who was weak to ari's cuteness said OK and the  three of them went to the  amusement park

They played all the rides, athy took so many photos and they enjoyed several snacks, thanks to athy... lucas tried almost all kind of  snacks  avaliable  there, athy took videos of ari riding merry go round  and their  day off for ari was filled with laughter. when they came back  home it was already night .

Lucas and ari took a shower together and changed to night outfits and played pillow fight. Athy put ari on the  bed and patted him

"eemo sing me lullaby.. you sing exactly like mommy.. I love that lullaby so much how do you know that song?"

seeing him speaking happily made athy  feel relieved.

"when i was like ari.. Unnie had sang  that for me.. I also loved  that song very much because she sang it so  beautifully that's why I always pester her to sing it for me every night" she said reminiscing her childhood days with a smile

"hehe.. me too.. I also pester mommy  to sing daily.. now that I know you know this song.. I am going to pester you now" ari said giggling.

Whenever ari is happy athy feels like her heart is overwhelmed with happiness

'is this how mothers feel..? ' she thought

" of course you can pester me all you want and  you can  also get angry.. throw a fit sometimes.. be stubborn.. you don't have to act like good child all the time.. whatever you do... we will  always love you ari"

athy said and  kissed his forehead  before she  started singing lullaby, ari slept hugging athy and she also dosed  off from her own singing which made lucas who was hearing all this sitting in study table working chuckle

  " it feels like I am raising two kids.. " he mumbled  as he tugged them inside bedsheet .

" good night you two chocoholics " he mumbled with a small smile  and went back to work
