Svendal

05:15, 11 December 2021

Faye took a step out of the official Neverseen hideout boundaries. She felt a burden lift from her shoulders. She had done it. She had left the hideout without a light leap.It was strictly forbidden (to even the leaders) because it was so close to the human world. Perhaps that was how the weird old man that Faye and Umber saw was there.

Speaking of the old man…

Faye navigated the corridors. It smelled of mold - maybe that was the thing Faye felt when she ran into a wall - and mildew.

Finally, she saw a light source coming from a hallway. She ran towards it. That light meant answers.

Answers to who Keefe was.

Answers to what the Neverseen was planning.

Answers to everything.

She had escaped the halls and came upon a room. For the most part, it was bare of furniture. The only thing was a small wooden chair, and sitting on it was Svendal.

He didn’t recognize Faye for a second, but then his dark green eyes lit up and a welcoming smile crossed his face.

“Glimmer,” He said. He pulled himself to standing, the creak his cane made audible. “What brings you to this room?”

Faye’s speech she had made disappeared. Why was she here? What was she doing?

“I-” Faye started, everything suddenly coming back to her. “I’m here to ask about my ability.”

“I suspected as much,” Svendal said. He gestured for Faye to go over to him and she obliged. “Your ability doesn’t define you, Glimmer. You define it. People like those in the Black Swan have used their abilities for their own benefit and not the rest of the world, like the Neverseen. The council are stuck up- You get the point.”

Faye nodded. “Lady Gisela talked about what I’m capable of. Do you know what she means by that?”

Svendal sighed. “I believe I once did, but now, after years and years of being a Holder, I have forgotten.” He smiled for a moment, but then her face turned solemn again. “I guess two-hundred-fifty years of age really gets ahead of you sometimes.”

He sat there for a minute, seemingly lost in another world. Then his face changed into seriousness. “I can’t tell you about your ability any more than I can tell you about Lady Gisela’s.”

And he left it at that.

Faye walked back to the hideout, trying to piece together what had happened.

Long story short: nothing.

Did Svendal tell the truth about forgetting, or was he lying? Did Gisela know what Faye planned to do and told Svendal?

Faye needed answers. Gisela had just left to get baby alicorns for experiments and blackmail. That means that either the baby alicorns would be in Neverseen control, or there would be another recruit to the Neverseen. At least that’s what Umber said.

Faye stepped into the official hideout perimeter. She turned onto the hallway her room was on and ran into a person with short, black hair and bangs tipped with silver.

Turned out the mission ended early.

A/N: Sorry that's a short chapter. Thanks for reading!!
