Chapter 11- I Care.

"Hey Muscles," Cora paused walking over to him they met right outside of his tent.

"What Scout?" He asked in annoyance looking at her. Octavia seemed to not let anything go if she was angry with him--they'd just finished yet another argument.

"Easy there bucko I just wanted to tell you something," she looked at him. He nudged his eyebrows encouraging her to go on. Honestly he needed a stress reliever, but considering the amount of cock block from the grounders it was dought full to happen. "You know what would look great on you?"

He groaned, "What?" He examined the girls body she looked different--clean almost. Her blonde locks were a bit more curled brighter not stained with dirt and her eyes seemed brighter like an early morning sky before the sun rose but the perfect blue. Her smile didn't look forced but that she was actually happy. He examined her lips, he hadn't noticed how rosey-pink they actually were.

"Me," with a swift movement her those cotton candy lips crashed onto his, he was stunned for a moment before responding as their lips start to move in sync. What the hell, the words popped into his mind but he quickly tossed them to the side, she was a better kisser than he thought. She knew the perfect places to rest her arms on his shoulders allowing his hands to wrap around her waist.

They had walked the short two foot distance into his tent stumbling onto the bed. Their lips parted momentarily as he slipped off his shirt, while she removed her own, his hands traveled up her torso sending chills down her spine a small, soft moan escaped her lips into the kiss. Another moment went by before Bellamy-

-

-Bellamy had fallen asleep sitting across Cora, her leg stayed prompted up on his all night long--except for the moment when he had a night terror causing him to drop off his seat--as she stayed in watch. The sun was just barely rising, more so the sky was dark blue mixed with purple and a small hint if pink barely peeking over the tree line.

Bellamy's head was tilted back as a soft snore would leave his lips with an occasional moan--she also noticed the slight bump rising in his pants. Cora found it quite amusing that'd it been so long since he's had any he was now dreaming about it. She could hear footsteps approaching as their boots collided with the mud. "Bell," she spoke softly trying to wake him up but only received a flick of the hand to be left alone.

"Have fun Cora?" A kid with shaggy hair asked. She couldn't remember his name, something that started with a N she more so didn't care. A smirk was plastered across his face as he took her gun.

"Yeah, we made out all night, it was great," she rolled her eyes sarcastically. "Try not to wake him, we don't get a lot a sleep nowadays." He nodded slightly as she walked off examining the sleeping beauty.

Cora continued to walk towards the main part of the gate holding a flashlight. "Hey I'm going on a walk, don't shoot me when I come back."

"You're going without a gun?" he asked almost sounding fearful for her.

"Remember I'm the one whose punched Bellamy, the almighty god," she almost smiled. He smiled and nodded at her. She took a moment using a piece of cloth and tied it to a loop on her pants. She waved off limping down the hill, she wandered for a bit before coming upon a small flat opening.

There she found a couple trees, about the size of a punching bag. Her movements were rapid like on the Ark, swiftly punching the tree. A small burst of pain shot up through her hands to her arms. It subsided quickly and she started a routine her and Alex had worked out. A couple minutes into to punching the tree her knuckles were numbed with blood and a bit of sweat dripped down her forehead. She stopped her wrists starting to go numb. She rested upon the tree leaning against it looking at her knuckles.

Out of the brush a voice husky appeared, "and to think, I though I was your punching bag." Cora smiled looking up at his mess of hair.

"Oh Blake you'll always have a special spot for my fists?" Her statement turned to a question as ended with a small laugh. Her breathing was returning back to its normal state. She hid her hands behind her back. She was hoping to clean them up once getting back to camp, that was if she could avoid Bellamy's older bother instincts of cleaning on the spot.

"Good," he smiled in response, the rising sun peeked through the trees shining on the two.

"So, did you have a fun dream?" she asked bluntly biting her bottom lip to contain a laugh. She watched as his cheeks flushed a rosy shade of pink.

"You um, you heard that?" He asked try to clear his throat while scratching the back of his head.

"The constant moaning? Yeah. You have a pretty decent moan Blake." She giggled causing his cheeks to darken.

"Did I happen to say a name?" He asked swallowing a lump in his throat.

"Nope, but whoever she, or he, was they were rockin' your world."

There was a sigh of relief that left his lips before his body tensed. "Wait, my moans are what, and he-say-what-now?"

"Oh, nothing." She giggled, "come on we should head back before people start drinking games."

"Alright birthday girl," Cora stopped in her tracks, Bellamy noticed and turned around. "Hey Scout you okay?"

She didn't reply for a moment, still keeping her hands behind her back. "It's my birthday," she huffed out a laugh of disbelief, she bit her bottom lip before suddenly wrapping her arms around his shoulders. He was taken back by her sudden movements, "thank you, Bellamy." Her words were muffled into his junction of his neck and shoulder. Bellamy smiled wrapping his arms around her torso, his cheekbone lightly rested on her hair.

"You're welcome." He didn't know what he did, but he didn't care. "Hey, we got about a hundred delinquents back at camp whom half are probably already wasted. You ready?" She gave a huff out of her nose and released, monetarily forgetting about her knuckles up until the point where Bellamy grabbed her hands. "You're gonna get this checked by Clarke right?"

"I am now," she shook her head beginning to walk up the hill. "You coming?" He smiled shaking his head. His hand rested on the clip of his axe as he walked up the hill catching up to the blonde.

-

Finally getting back to camp Bellamy walked Cora up to Clarke making sure her hands were taken care of. "Really you two I'm fine this isn't the first time things have gotten a little bloody." She said sitting on the hammock as Clarke tweezed out little splinters. "Ow," she winced in one of the tugs, Clarke shrugged in response.

"Bellamy's right, you have got to stop hurting yourself, including punching a tree. Hell, punch him if you have to." Clarke said dabbing a wet rug to her wound.

"Fine, next time I need to let out rage I'll let it out on Bellamy's face. That's what we're agreeing on, right?" She asked becoming annoyed with the topic.

Bellamy had his arms crossed while bitting a thumb nail looking up at the situation, "Yeah," he caught both of the blondes attention in the drop ship. "Yeah fine, think of it like training. I may not be as good as Alex but I didn't suck."

"Okay," she nodded her throat seemed to go horse for a second, clearing it she winced one last time looking at Clarke as she finished up the bandaging, "thanks." She stood up grabbing her jacket sliding it on.

"Hey Cora," Clarke caught her attention, "happy birthday."

"Hey now, let's not say that to loud," she smiled walking past the curtain. The sound of Jaha's voice she found very, annoying. Preaching form the old 'wise' people on the ark wasn't her favorite thing. She chuckled at Ravens power to quickly diminish Miller's whining. She turned slightly seeing Clarke walk out and up next to Finn. That boy is trouble, Cora thought he seemed like a good guy, but he just didn't sit right with her sometimes.

She continued her little walk running into Jasper. "Hey J." She smiled before he grabbed her hand spinning around. "Jasper," her voice was quiet as a gut feeling of, no nope no, whatever he is doing is bad.

"The first batch of unity juice, and I believe out lovely little birthday girl," he paused faking a cough, "Cora, should get the first drink."

"Jasper, I'm going to kill you," she mumbled under her breath as he handed her a cup. The group seemed to waited for her to drink before resuming their partying. Behind the group Clarke and Bellamy could be seen trying not to burst out into laughter. Cora dreaded this having everyone watch as she consumed her first alcoholic beverage.

She took the cup quickly in taking all the liquid at once. She winced a bit before holding up the cup. The group cheered then raced to get some of their own. She walked through the group getting a couple pats on the back finally making it out she quickly paced herself to get behind Bellamy and Clarke, "I'm gonna kill the little nerd." She said under her breath trying to rid her tongue and throat if the burning. Bellamy looked down avoided laughing at great costs. She grinds her teeth to the top of her tongue, spitting a bit to.

-

Cora was in on her third, no fourth, well indeed she didn't really know. After the sun set she had given up on trying to not cause herself any sort of hangover. "No there is no way you can chug these four in a row without stopping."

"No? Alright I do this, you to get to lock lips, and I don't, I kiss you," she said looking at the two males testing her.

"Deal," they both said. She nodded, quickly she down, the first two, the third then the fourth was finished off with a shout.

They clapped and paused realizing what they had promised, "and in this moment they kiss." She smiled as the boys looked at each other uncomfortably. "You guys are so weak it's really not that hard." she looked around grabbing a girl by her sleeve before crashing her lips onto the girls named that fuzzed in her mind. The red-head did indeed kiss back, actually gripping her jacket pulling Cora a little closer to her body as their lips moved together. The kiss was broken as one of her friends dragged her away.

"Really not that hard," she smirked as their cheeks changed to a deep red but also looked slightly amused.

"Damn Cora," one muttered amused she shook her head as she walked off finding a tall dark haired, freckled face cutie.

"Hey bubble-butt," she giggled standing next to Bellamy.

He huffed a laugh looking at her glancing at the ground. "So what happened to not drinking?" He asked smiling as he took another bite into his apple.

"I got bored," she shrugged looking around at the party-ers. "Hey can I have a bite?" She asked nudging to the apple. He nodded handing it to her, she took a small bite looking at him.

"So you seemed to stun the two guys with your exchanging of lips with Scarlet," Bellamy said almost sounding uncomfortable.

"Is Bellamy Blake homophobic?" Cora raised an eyebrow looking at him.

"God no-it was entertaining- come on I'm a guy," he had a cheeky smiled biting his lip slightly.

"Well I'm glad I was good entertainment," she looked about the camp taking another bite. "I think we should dance," she said looking at the small group dancing to their own beat. The majority of people dancing were in friend groups others were in small couples grinding on one another.

"I'm on watch, Cora. Maybe another time."

"When you are not on watch? Okay sure. Oh and thanks for the apple," she smiled biting her bottom lip.

"You're welcome," he said rolling his eyes.

"Don't roll you're eyes at me mister," she tried acting serious elbowing him. He raised his brow line looking at her.

"Guess what?" She made a light hmm sound taking another bit. "I made a new law anyone who elbows Bellamy Blake gets tickled until they pass out." Her eyes widened as she looked at him, a small puff of disbelief slipped her lips before she was quickly forced so her back was against the fence. Bellamy had a devilish look to him.

"Bellamy no," she almost pleaded. His hands found her sides and he began moving his fingers around the area. She cried out in laughter throwing her head back squeezing her eyes shut. All the air couldn't seem to get to her lungs as she cringed underneath him trying to wiggle her way out. "Bell--" she paused as she was now silently laughing, "--amy! Please!"

The two were interrupted by the sound of someone clearing their throat behind them. He released as Cora regained herself still slightly laughing, their attention was brought to a kid with shaggy brown hair, pale skin and brown eyes--Finn. "Cora, can you walk with me for a moment?" He asked exchanging glances with Bellamy.

"Yeah," she inhaled and exhaled, "sure. Think fast," she said tossing the apple back to him. He caught it shaking his head a bit. They walked off as he took another bite still grinning.

He was soon greeted by another male, "You my friend are so utterly whipped."

Jasper.

"Finn what's going on?" She asked as he walked her over to Clarke who was standing by a tree looking beyond nervous. "Did you two fuck again and she's missed her--"

"No Cora," Finn said cutting her off. "We have a meeting with the grounders."

"You what?" She asked snapping back. She shifted to be looking at Clarke, "you agreed to this?"

"Maybe we should try making peace with them," she looked like a helpless puppy caught between divorcing parents.

Cora held up a finger before stealing someone else's shot, consuming the whole thing then returning back to them. "Fine. Let's go."

-

Bellamy was not at all pleased with this plan after Clarke explained it to him while Finn walked with Cora to get her pack. He rebound her leg as she splashed a little water on her face. They all meet up at the gate and what felt like the longest walk, ever, they'd finally gotten to the bridge. Upon arriving Octavia came into view, "So baby Blake's here to, who else knows?" Cora asked earning an eye roll from O.

Out of the other side ran another grounder, Clarke seemed to tense as Cora looked back at her. It was the grounder that was in the drop ship--she did call that Octavia helped him out.

Octavia ran out meeting him halfway getting wrapped up in a hug. Shortly after they'd walked out a bit the grounders had come out of the brush on horse back, with weapons.

"Hey we said no weapons," Finn snapped noticing the grounders to the leaders' side.

Cora scoffed, "you think they're not gonna bring weapons after what we did to him?" She said looking at the four, she wasn't wrong. She glanced to the side seeing Bellamy, Raven and Jasper, maybe we won't die in the process of this. She thought as they all walked forward. The leader dismounted from her horse and began to walk to the center of the bridge.

Clarke and Cora began to walk forward Finn trying to follow, "not you, just them." The grounder interrupted their--more so Clarke's--actions.

"I'll be fine," she reassured him as the two blondes walked off.

"It's not like you don't have someone who would die for you by your side," a Cora said as they neared the leader.

"Your name is Clarke?" She asked Clarke as she stiffened. She was beautiful, a woman truly meant for war. Her mix of dark brown hair and light tips was perfectly pulled out of her face, her makeup made her eyes stand out. Her cheek bones were greatly defined and there was a cut that ran up the side of her cheek.

"Yes," she responded keeping her head up.

Bellamy had Cora in his sights, Clarke was to the right of her making it harder for him to see her. He glanced at her hand noticing that her fists were clenched. A light chuckle came out of his lips and Raven looked at him. "What?"

"Look at Cora's hand," he said bluntly examining the trees seeing nothing.

"She's got control I'll give her that," Raven responded looking over at Finn. She shook her head and went back to looking at the three leaders.

"The missiles you launched burned one of out villages to the ground," Anya said sternly. Cora almost rolled her eyes.

"They weren't misses, they were flares. Much like you, we were trying to save our families. So forgive us if we caused damage to your home, that was not our intention. We intended to save our people, the thought has occurred that maybe we should make peace," Cora explained. She glanced past the grounders shoulder looking at the weapons. She glanced at the trees for a moment, wait, what the hell was that?

"Lincoln said there was more of you coming, warriors," she said her facial expressionless annoyed.

"The guard, but also farmers, engineers, things to help us, you even survive."

"We've done just fine. And how do we know that they won't just attack once they've come down. You're asking me to sign to an alliance that could be broken just as fast."

"So are you," Cora said earning a risen eyebrow. "How do we know that once we come down, you wont try to kill us?"

"Which is why we are trying to avoid war. We want to live in peace," Clarke said recovering her friends seemingly rude comment. She noticed that she wasn't fully happy with the situation, she seemed tense.

The mood of the bridge changed when Jasper came out of the brush throwing a fit, firing his gun. Cora instinctively went to protect Clarke, she watched as Anya pulled a knife going for Clarke. The small brush of wind coming from a bullet made Cora glance at Bellamy. He had shot the leader.

Arrows were flying as Cora pushed Clarke out of the way. "Cora," Clarke shouted as Finn rushed over grabbing Clarke's arm.

"Go," she spat, she ran shortly behind them, her running slowed a bit as did everything around her. The sound of Lincoln giving Octavia information about something--she couldn't focus on what--then sending her away, was ringing in her ear. Clarke and Finn were running into the brush, the sound of horses running off behind her.

All Cora could do was watch as the events took place. Even out of the corner of her eye there was the view of Bellamy grabbing Jasper by the collar of his shirt pushing him up, supporting Raven making sure she didn't slip.

Arrows continued to fly pass, one had caught her side leaving a small cut. She turned her head slightly noticing a small sick with feathers at the ends poking out her shoulder. Her conscious had caught up to her a sharp pain grew in her shoulder. Gwa shit, she thought as she winced. Not seeing anyone she actually knew around one thought entered her mind, run.

-

Everyone was huffing and puffing as they ran up the hill, Bellamy was mostly towards the back while Octavia led. "Guys wait," Bellamy said bringing everyone to a halt almost halfway back to camp. Finn was questioning why he was stopping, the tall boy tuned him out as he started counting their heads. One blonde short. "Cora," he hardly breathed out as everyone began to look around.

"She was shot by an arrow, but I thought she got behind everyone," Octavia said her breathing patterers settling faster than everyone else's.

"Stay here, don't, dear god please don't leave stay put if I'm not back in ten," he paused a moment, "run." He said before turning and racing down the hill.

-

Cora stumbled a couple times, trying find the path they'd taken there. She could hear running in the brush, she turned looking trying to find the source. Damn you Finn, she thought craving the need for a weapon in her hand. One step to the left and her body collided with another. She gripped onto the person as they both fell stumbling and evidently falling.

She cried out in pain for a quick moment as the arrow broke then was pushed deeper into her shoulder. Her body ended up on top of the other person who she quickly identify, Bellamy. He opened his eyes wincing for a moment before realizing who was on top of him.

A sigh of relief escaped his lips as he wrapped his arms around her waist evidently bringing the two closer. She hugged him back with one arm trying to not move the other. Her shaky warm breath rested upon the connection point of his neck and shoulders.

"We gotta go," he said breathlessly, she moved to get up wincing in the process. They moved quick, kinda, Cora kept fading but they did catch up with the group.

-

Arriving outside the gates everyone one came to a stop to catch their breath. "You got something to say?" Clarke asked looking at Finn who held a stern angered look.

"Yeah I told you no guns," he said almost with a look of disappointment.

"And I told you we couldn't trust the grounders I was right."

"Why didn't you tell me what you were up too?" Raven complained looking at him.

"I tried but you were to busy making bullets for your gun."

"You're lucky she brought that gun, it saved your lives," Bellamy defended.

"You don't know that! Jasper fired the first shot."

"You ruined everything," Octavia said disgust filling their voices.

"I saved you," he shouted back at her.

"Shut up. All of you shut, the fuck, up." She said pausing catching their attention. "Yeah we all fucked up, get over it." She spoke little words of kindness. "You're all just bitchy cause things didn't go your mother fucking way well hey grow the fuck up that's life."

She could hardly stand on her own, let alone walk--but she did she wobbled her way into camp finding one canteen full of moonshine in it. She made her way to her tent quickly sitting down. Her face cringed as she rotated her shoulder taking off her jacket and removing her tank trying to not shift, or move the arrow.

She undid the cap taking a quick drink, she waited a moment for her body to begin to feel numb, taking another sip she walked out the canteen in hand. She found her way to the drop ship stumbling in. She searched abroad finding the "medical" supplies, taking out a bandage and a cloth she dabbed the cloth with a bit of moonshine. Inhale, she pushed the cloth onto the areas around the wound, exhale. Once she cleaned the area as best she could she reached over her shoulder.

"Stop," a husky voice called out stopping her actions in the middle of them. She rolled her eyes dropping her arm listening as his footsteps grew louder and closer. She could feel his presence behind her, his hand didn't go to the wound, they went to her hair. He carefully combed his hands through her hair. She hadn't realized how sleepy she was until she'd actually taken a couple steps back into him leaning against him, keeping her shoulder up a bit. She closed her eyes as he put together a sloppy braid tying together.

He'd taken the rag and cleaned up the wound a bit more, she bit her inner cheek her nose twitching slightly. "You really got to stop beating yourself up, putting others lives before your own."

"Why? I'm so good-" her words cut with a hiss after he pulled out the remaining factor of the arrow. "-at it."

"Because you keep scaring everyone. You keep scaring me."

"Come on Bell," she paused biting her bottom lip as he banged the wound, "no one cares about me that much." She said as he finished up.

"I do, I care wether you're dead or not," he look at her his eyes taking the form of a puppy once more. She turned around fully her brow line furrowing together. "Cora I care if you're okay. Clarke cares, Jasper, O, Monty, even Miller, Finn and Raven. We care."

She swallowed a lump stuck in her throat, she opened her mouth but no words came out. "The reason I continue to almost die for anyone I care about is because if I die, there's no sibling, or mom, dad, even lover I'll be leaving. Sure you'll all be sad, but you'll get over it. On the other hand, if O or you died the other would be crushed." She glanced to the ground--or anywhere form his gaze--collecting herself.

"So no Bellamy, it wouldn't matter that much." There was no one else on the first floor at the moment that was probably the only reason Bellamy allowed himself to punch the wall of the metal drop ship. "Bellamy stop," she spoke quietly, her throat was practically dry.

"Not leaving anyone behind huh?" He questioned glancing at her before walking towards the door, "the exodus ship launched early, ended up crashing. We think Clarke's mom was on the ship as well." He said finally before leaving.

Cora could feel tears pricking at her eyes, she quickly pushed them back. She swallowed another lump in her throat as she started to walk back to her tent grabbing her long sleeve slipping it on carefully she walked over to the gate fence finding someone ready to crash.

"Hey Jackson, you look like you're about to die, go sleep," she said watching him get up then slightly fall into her. She wrapped her arms around him to help the poor kid up. "You gonna make it?" He groaned a sort of yes and hobbled off. She let the gun rest on the chair finding someone's leftover drink. Taking a drink she could feel the tears coming, she wasn't going to stop them this time.

She felt her eyes cloud with tears she pressed them closed as some spilled out. She bit her bottom lip not letting any noise out. As her head bowed letting the warm salty water stream down her cheeks. Soon rainfall came over head and her weeps became a little less silent.
