Chapter 9- Nuts, Berries, and the Truth

Clarke had awoken slowly she looked over to where Cora should have been and panicked. She quickly put her boots on grabbing her jacket and scurrying out of her tent. She walked over to Bellamy's tent to alert the other leader, "Bellamy, Cora's gone she's-"

Her words were cut off as he tried to shush her as much as possible without moving. Cora had shifted through the night and ended up resting her head on his bare chest, her hands gripping to the blanket-type figure. Clarke could see a couple braids in her hair where he could reach. "You apparently kicked her out of the bed last night," he said with a light laugh.

"Oh that's something I didn't- okay I'm just gonna go," she nodded leaving the tent. Bellamy shook his head with a small chuckle.

Cora stayed asleep for a while as Bellamy combed through her hair with his fingers undoing the braids. He lightly circled his fingers around her back as she snuggled closer to him. Shortly after groans could be heard from the blonde as she shifted, "Morning sleepy-head."

A small smile tugged at his lips as he received another groan in response. "Why is your body so warm?" She mumbled the question her lips brushing against his skin not moving the position she was in.

"A process of body functions that I didn't pay much attention to in class," he replied keeping his hand on her back.

"It's to early for you to be a smartass," she said as she slowly sat up bring her knees to her chest, she rested her elbows on her knees rubbing her eyes.

"Its never to early as someone once said," he said in response lifting himself up slightly on his elbows. The back of her shirt hiked up a bit showing the end of the cuts. "You wanna talk about it?" There was a pause in between his words creating deathly silence. "Cora, you're gonna have to tell someone."

She stayed silent a moment more the sounds of a few people walking around and fire cracking could be heard as her lips parted. "They started off asking me simple questions, I'd answer of course not in anyway they wanted. Then they brought in Mat," her body stiffened as did Bellamy's.

"They said he died pushing some taller guy out of the way," tears pricked at her eyes. "They took him away and then hit me again. After I woke up there was a bucket of water," she rubbed her hand across the bottom of her nose sniffling. "They asked questions again, I still didn't answer. They would dunk my head and one of the times I took a knife from the guy. I'd passed out, woke up with my hands bound to two sides of the wall and I didn't have a shirt on. I didn't say anything when they asked more questions, so they whipped my back." She tried to talk as fast as possible to just as quickly suppress the memories.

She bit the insides of her cheeks as tears treaded down her cheeks, "they cut me loose and I just lied there because I was to weak. I couldn't move. Then he came in." Bellamys' shoulders tensed as he sat up fully. "His actions were different, he was different. I-I heard his belt being taken off, after a struggle I killed him. I got into the hall, there was another I killed him too. Then I ran, I ran and I ran and I ran. Then I got here, and you and Clarke were there and I, I was weak."

"Cora," his voice was soft as he watched a tear roll down her cheek.

"It's okay. I'm okay," she said quickly wiping away the tear and its trail trying to force a smile.

"Hey what I said yesterday, about you not having to pull any bull with me, I wasn't pulling any jokes."

"Thanks Bellamy," she nodded locking eyes with him. His face resembled a puppy, so soft and caring like he could lick your face, well more so hug someone until they smiled. His eyes seeped into hers bringing what little innocence left out. He stood up and slid on his shirt smoothly, she watched as he did so. He stuck a hand helping her up, she winced as she stumbled back slightly her body still healing.,

"You good?" He questioned grabbing her upper arm gently.

"Yes and no?" She asked more than answered trying to give him the answer he wanted.

"Great," he shook his head slightly walking out after her. The majority of the 100 was rationing out nuts and berries. They took a couple bites here and there.

"Where'd we get all the nuts and berries?" Cora asked grabbing a couple for a bin handing one to Bellamy.

"Some kid found them when he was supposed to be hunting," he said grabbing a handful splitting it with her.

"Well amen to him," she breathed out a laugh taking a few looking around.

Clarke walked up to them as they made their way to the camp. "Bellamy, you ready to move?" She asked regripping her pack.

"Move?" Cora questioned, "and where are you two going?" She asked stopping the conversation.

"There's a bunker with supposedly some supplies a days walk from here, and don't even think about you going not in the condition your in," Clarke stated looking at her with a stern look.

"You mean I'm in great condition and I'm totally going," she paused a moment as a a group of people walked by. "You two cannot leave me here with those stupid couples or anyone else." She stepped closer glancing at Bellamy but looked at Clarke, "Everyone looks at me as if I'm some sort of broken time-bomb that's going to explode if you get to damn close." The silence became unrealistic.

"Fine, pack a bag meet us at the gate in ten," Bellamy said before Clarke could protest. Cora walked away with a small skip into the drop ship.

"Bellamy-"

"Clarke I don't think she wants to be locked up any longer than she has to be."

"No Bellamy, she's going into the drop ship," Clarke said pushing past him walking after her. He followed processing when it hit him, the grounder. He silently cursed to himself fast walking.

Cora climbed the ladder up the drop ship to the third level. She saw Miller sitting up quickly looking at her his eyes widened."Cora, what are you doing up here?"

Her eyes drifted from him around the room when she spotted the man hanging like live bait. "The hell is that?" Her eyes grew narrow as a small pit of anger grew in her stomach.

"No wait stop just listen for a second," Miller spoke trying to stop her. All the anger and rage built up inside of her had been released on to his face as her fist contacted his cheek, hard. His body dropped to the ground for he was now out cold.

She stepped over his torso and paced over to the grounder hearing footsteps run up the ladder. There was a cold look in his eyes as he eyed her down. It wasn't the fact she was just up there and he kept the look but even after all the torched ing he went through he still had strength. Showing no kindness to anyone, unless of course he was alone with a certain brunette with outstanding eyebrows.

"Oh my god, what'd they do you?" She asked hovering her fingers over the wounds, his body flinched slightly as she got close to the wounds.

The footsteps had come to a stop as she could feel multiple sets of eyes on her. "Cora," Bellamy's voice choked out looking at her back. Clarke made small steps to Miller a bit taken back the he was out cold.

She gazed at the marks on his chest, almost exact to her back. "We're you two just gonna hide him from me?" She spat turning.

"Cora you don't understand," Clarke stammered to explain.

"Understands? No I understand perfectly. We are just as bad as they are," she walked towards them a bit. "You said were not on the Ark, and the grounder are such bad people. Take a fucking look at what the hell you did to him. This isn't some fucking joke anymore Clarke. I get now why the grounders want us dead because we are just as much of a disease as the Ark was to any joy in life." She pushed past both Clarke and Bellamy making her way down the ladder.

"Something tells me you saw the grounder," Octavia said cockily sitting against the wall.

"Millers out cold," she said her voice fading as she grabbed some random pack walking out the drop ship door.

Bellamy and Clarke followed close behind, he noticed His younger siblings' smirk as she looked at the. "I guess your get answers plan back fired."

"Can it O, and don't even think about going in there. I'll be sending someone else to watch him till Miller wakes up." He said standing there for a moment before walking out.

Cora walked over to her tent and stormed in finding two people clinging to each other in their nude state. "Hey!" She shouted waking them up abruptly, "when I come back you two and fucking shit better be gone." She grabbed a fistful of their clothes throwing them at the two. "Get your own damn tent," she grumbled walking out. She stopped at Monty and Jasper's little stand exhaling an enraged breath through her nose.

"What's up butter-cup?" Monty asked popping a nut into his mouth, then proceeding to put in little bags.

"Butter-cup?" she paused questioning it before continuing, "you know there are no nice people here were all just a bag of big dicks." Both Monty and Jasper shook their head laughing lightly. Jasper had thrown a nut in the air catching it in his mouth, they'd obviously been trying to do this for a while as they smiled and raised their hands as if they were trying to do is for a while.

"Well if they're being a big bag of dicks, let me know and I'll kick their ass," Jasper said doing a fake karate kick. Cora chuckled amused by the two, she grabbed a couple bags of nuts tossing them into her bag.

She looked over her shoulder seeing Clarke and Bellamy approach the gate, "I'll see you two later," she gave a small smile waving them off as she walked to the gates. Clarke led, followed by Bellamy then Cora. They was horribly long and excruciatingly silent, after about three hours of walking they'd made it to a ridge overcasting a small town most of which was over run by water.

"We should split up, but stay in shouting distance," Bellamy said looking around, Clarke nodded in agreement.

"Sounds good to me," Cora said before making her way down the small hillside walking away from them. She pulled out a small bag and started to snack on some nuts and berries. She looked around taking harder steps than others seeing if there was a difference in the ground, or a metal door.

Clarke had given a shout that she found something and both Bellamy and Cora jogged over they moved some brush out of the way revealing a bunker looking door. Clarke pulled on the door a bit, "Locked," she huffed looking at the two.

"Bellamy," Cora said looking at him.

"What?" He asked like the kid in the back of the class that never pays attention.

"Seriously Blake?" She paused rolling her eyes. "You're axe." His face changed to having an Ah-Ha moment as he pulled it out. With one swift swing he hit the target perfectly, he removed the lock tossing it to the side in its broken state. Cora and Bellamy both grabbed one of the handles pulling them open at once. She stumbled back a bit into him before catching herself stepping away.

Their boots made a clacking sound as they walked down the metal holed stairs. Cora avoided touching the handle. The air was thick, moist, erring, Cora looked around before opening her mouth, "Welcoming." Bellamy let out a small chuckled through his nostrils. Clarke followed behind the two pulling out a flashlight, shinning over their heads reaching the bottom of the steps. They walked down a couple dark creepy halls the silence was suffocating. "Clarke let me see that light," she paused as it was passed up. She looked to side seeing crates quickly opening them up. Expired food.

"You're kidding me, that's what they sent us down here for?" Bellamy huffed walking past her opening other crate as did Clarke.

"I got blankets," Clarke said moving the top crate so she could open another.

"I got nothing," Cora mumbled closing the crate. "I'll take the blankets up to the front," she continued picking up the crate walking away listening as Bellamy let out small rage of annoyance. She wanted to tell him to relax, that everything would be fine, but she wouldn't. She want him to suffer, to feel the pain of mistrust and ruins. She was furious, they had more than enough time to explain things and instead they kept it from her. They lied. He lied. They told her everything was fine, but it wasn't.

She could hear him knocking over a barrel ragging, probably breaking something. She walked back over seeing Bellamy crouching holding a rifle in his hands. "The hell is that?" She asked looking at Clarke, glancing at Bellamy.

"Well Cora its a gun," Bellamy remarked a smirk plastered across his face.

"No shit Sherlock," she responded with a small glare. "Wait, you wanna arm a bunch of narcissistic-out-of-control teenagers?" She asked looking at him her brows furrowed together.

"You mean yourself?" He shot back looking up at her scowl.

"No, I know what I was doing, but they-"

"-They need to protect themselves against the grounders."

"He's right," their argument came to a halt as both looked at Clarke. "As much as I don't like it we need them to be able to protect themselves."

"So guns?" She sighed looking at the weapons.

"Guns," they said together. Cora gave a glimpse of defeat before eating some more nuts.

Bellamy had set up target practice for the two blondes. Cora removed the clip checking the ammunition before pushing it back in with a click. Alex had given her a couple lessons on guns, she didn't much care for the thought of using them.

-

"Alex, do I really have to use a gun?" The girl asked sighing as they walked towards the range. It wasn't very large although you didn't need much room on the ark.

"Yes Cora! Sure we don't use them that much but we do have to use them sometimes," he said walking into the empty room.

"Like on six-year-old girls trying to stab someone to death?" She asked taking the polished pistol into her hand. It fit well in her hand much to her surprise as she avoided placing her finger on the trigger.

Alex avoided that conversation counting his small speech. "First check the clip, make sure you know there's ammunition in the weapon. Then check the safety," she did as he said watching as he did it himself. He switched safety back on walking to grab safety glasses and ear plugs. "Here," he said handing her a pair, she set the gun down quickly putting them in and on.

She picked up the gun and aimed down the range. "Relax," Alex said positioning her arms a bit. Her finger slide to the trigger slowly like a cat hunting it prey. She squeezed the trigger going in for the kill, she was taken a bit back by the power of the small weapon before letting off a couple more shots almost like she was sinking her teeth into the flesh into it's preys neck. She turned the safety on putting the gun down. "That was amazing," Alex said ringing the paper forward.

The bullet holes plagued the chest and one single shot to the head. "How often do you use a gun?" The sixteen-year-old asked as she pulled out the ear plugs and took off the glasses.

"Hardly ever."

"Okay have you ever?"

"Yes," he paused looking to swallow back a hard memory. "Suicide bomber, we couldn't talk him down so I pulled the trigger. I saved a bunch of lives taking one, and that's the only time I've used my gun."

She nodded for a moment before taking a couple steps before hugging her mentor. A small smile crept onto his face as he wrapped his around the small girl.

-

Cora became a bit nauseous losing her balance for a moment. "You okay?" Bellamy asked placing a hand on her shoulder supporting her. She blinked rapidly a couple times nodding as she looked over her shoulder. Their faces were uncomfortably close, she could fear the slightest of air exhaling through his nose against her cheek.

"Yeah," she paused collecting herself, "yeah I'm good." Cora gripped the gun resting it on her shoulder. "You know it's been a while since I've held one of these right?" She said looking over at the target. The butterflies that hadn't been felt in so long had filtered back up. How close his body was to her made her almost shudder under his touch. Stop, she thought trying to slow her breathing.

Bellamy let out a light laugh, "here." He repositioned her waist, shoulders and the gun stepping back. The drowsiness had hit her once more like a wave crashing onto the sand. This wasn't any sort of butterflies, this was the feeling of I'm gonna hurl all over you. She exhaled through her mouth blinking rapidly, her vision went in and out of focus before pulling the trigger. The sound of the bullet flying echoed the hall as she quickly set the gun down.

Bellamy looked stunned looking at the target then looking at her. "Did I hit it?" She asked using on of the shields to support her unbalanced body.

He stif hid finger through a hole dead in the center, "you hit the middle, the dead center."

"Oh, um great. I'm gonna get some fresh air," she nodded to herself making her way past the orange blanket and down the hall.

Clarke walked up next to Bellamy a smile plastered across her face. "What's got you all giddy?" He asked his arms crossed looking down at her.

"Oh nothing," she smiled grabbing the gun Cora had just used.

-

Cora had made it outside the bunker trying to catch her breath. The sound of the metal door slamming behind her caused her to jump. She turned around not seeing the door of the bunker closed, it was open. What door slammed? She looked around for a sort of explanation.

"Cora," she turned looking for the voice. It was familiar, like the leftover taste of something sweet on her lips. "Cora." The voice came back more distressed. She knew that voice all to well, Mat.

"Mat?" She questioned looking around. Her body felt the need to run, so she did. Or she tried. She stumbled many times over her own feet. She reached the ruins of an old building, as the voices seemed to ease.

She looked around the buildings, the structure was mostly there but not fully. The window frame was intact but there wasn't any glass. The wood in the door was pealing off and the paint was chipping. She ran her fingers over a soft violet bedding of a chair. It was all so elegantly faded, unlike the ark it still had the visual feel of the beauty. "Cora!" The blood curdling scream brought her out of her train of thought.

"Charlotte!" She screamed back starting to run up a flight of stairs, making it to the top she looked left seeing a hall, the right was nothing but a wall. She repeated the girls name, "Charlotte? It's okay, it's safe." She spoke kindly looking around, the feeling of guilt swarmed her body like bees in a hive as she leaned up against a wall.

"You did this to us," she looked up seeing them talk in unison.

"No, no I tried to save you. Both of you!" She defended looking at the two. Sweat beaded down her forehead as tears well up in her eyes. Charlotte's body had changed, there were blotches of red all over her body. Cora steeped back in horror backing into a body, she turned seeing Mat, his shirt was soaked in dried blood.

"You let me jump Cora. Why?" The little girl asked as she stepped forward.

"I tried to grab you, I begged you to not."

"No!" She screamed sending Cora backing into the wall. "You let me die!"

"I'm sorry, I'm so sorry," she felt tears run down her cheeks.

"Sorry doesn't bring me back," she shouted again, Cora took couple steps back backing into Mat once more.

"Hey Cora how's living life?" Mat asked as she turned to run down the stairs. About a fourth of the way down two sets if hands pushed her down. She tumbled down to the very bottom her body getting cut up as she fell. She landed on her back groaning in pain.

She shifted letting out a cry of pain, she could feel blood soaking her pant leg. "Honey, I'm home," a voice rang through the building.

Utter fear struck her body as she sat up, "Dad?" Her stomach felt as if satan was inside of her ripping her insides apart.

"Pumpkin why are you hiding? Daddy wants to play the special game," the sound of footsteps walking closer made her knees weak as she used the handle to pull herself up.

She looked up the the stairs and shook the thought out of her mind. Finally standing up she threw herself at a wall and used it as support as she limped her way to another hall. She could the blood soaking her pants start dripping down her leg. She walked down the hall trying to find a place to hide.

"Cora, do you want daddy to be angry?" There was a pause in his poisoned words. "Come here, now!" The voice grew louder much like the footsteps that came closer. Tears flooded down her cheeks like a damn that concealed painful memories. She made it to a room with a couple decent sized planks, grabbing one she sucked up to the side of a wall tightly squeezing her eyes shut. "Cora, come out come out where ever you are?"

"No!" She screamed hitting her head against the wall trying to rid him of her thoughts, trying to repair the damn.

-

Bellamy and Clarke sat against the tree catching their breath. The sound of a girl screaming echoed the woods as the both perked up. "Cora." Bellamy didn't question the voice, he knew. He stood up giving Clarke a hand she took it standing up quickly.

"She wandered off earlier. If we're all hallucinating what the hell is she seeing?" Clarke asked starting to run towards the voice with Bellamy.

-

"Get out of my head," she cried harder dropping the board as she dropped to her knees gripping her temple and hair near it. "You're on the Ark, you can't be real." She tried to push him out of her mind.

"If I'm not real, why are you so terrified?" He asked squatting down next to her whispering into her ear. A small chuckle left his lips as he remained so close to her. Cora reached her hand put grabbing an old rusted piece of metal and slashing his arm straggling to get away as she crawled out from beneath him.

-

"Bellamy I think she's down here," Clarke said turning a corner to see a blonde gripping to the wall for support as she tried to stand up. Bellamy stepped in front of Clarke as they walked towards her.

"Cora," he looked at her stopping as she tried to stand up straight. Her face was glossed over in sweat there were new wounds open on her cheeks, forehead and chin-he assumed was encountered by a fall. There was a darker blood stain on the wall and seemed to follow her as she walked towards them.

"Bellamy, her leg is bleeding pretty badly, I gotta get something around it or," Clarke's whispered words drifted off as he nodded. She made it to them slouching on her own looking up at him. For a moment she stood tall and looked at him. Pure hate filled her eyes as her lips curved to a scowl before she had spit in his face shortly after giving him a blow to the face. She turned and started to barely make her way down the hall the wall being used for support as well.

Bellamy wiped off the spit pushing his hands on his pants trying to get rid of the liquid, he rotated his jaw as well hearing a small pop. Clarke went to walk after her but he brought her actions to a halt sticking his arm out. "I hate seeing her in pain as much as you do, but she needs to live it out. We know what she's seeing, just keep following her up until she stops." He said then turned to walk a small distance behind Cora.

She had gone into another room but couldn't be seen standing. Bellamy used the light from the moon seeing the blood stain lead up to behind a desk. It was old, mint-rusted green, and had a little bit of the residue of a sticker on the side. "Scout," Bellamy spoke softly trying a name her father wouldn't have called her or even known. A small smile crept onto Clarke's face as she stood in the doorway.

Bellamy had gotten onto his knees next to the shaking girl, cane couldn't control any of her body's movements. He placed his hand on her shoulder carefully his big brown doe eyes waiting for those bright blue to look right back at him. She stared at the ground intently not looking anywhere in general.

"He molested me," she said shakily keeping her head low. Bellamy and Clarke were ready for, it was my fault, or they're dead because of me, but not this. Bellamy's breath hitched as his brows furrowed together looking at her. "I couldn't even kill him. I'm weak." Her words hit Bellamy like hit was being hit by a bag of bricks.

She used to be weak, but for years she trained and that weakness and pain turned to strength and hope. Cora had gotten rid of anything fancy in her life. She grew up by time children were out growing their toys meanwhile she was locked in a cell.

"You're not weak," Bellamy paused giving Cora the chance to look up at him. He took her hand into his, "you've done so many things to help the camp survive. You've given so many people hope when there wasn't any to give."

"Added the number of times you've kicked ass," Clarke said causing the other blonde to glance up with a small smile. She nodded at them not saying anything just simply communicating through a head nod.

Bellamy hoisted her under the arms, she didn't want to use anyone for support but the majority of her body weight relied upon him as he held her up. "Let's get her on the table, I'll be back within five minutes I think I saw some wrap down there," Clarke said walking out of the room.

Bellamy took control and picked her up bridal style placing her on the dresser. "Thanks," her voice sounded as she had swallowed a cat then it clawed its way back up.

"You're welcome," he responded resting on the desk as she sat there. They sat in silence the rest of the time but Bellamy continued to hold her hand. Cora's state had changed, her face was awfully pale, but the sweat had mostly dried up, her faced was also cloaked with a light amount of dirt and a few new starches here and there. Her breathing was heavy due to the amount of blood she had lost.

Clarke walked back in shortly after pulling up her pant leg. She gently poured some water on the wound earning a hiss from Cora. She wrapped her leg pulling down her pant leg shortly after. "You'll be a little woozy but you'll be okay."

"Thanks Clarke," she gave a small smile hopping off the desk a limp to her step. They walked back to the bunker to gather the supplies and head home. The walk was mostly quiet. At one point Clarke was discussing the rules of the guns with Bellamy, he listened, mostly.

About ten minutes from camp Bellamy's walk slowed as he walked next to Cora, he spoke softly, "hey."

"Hola," she paused glancing up at him. "So you gonna talk to Jaha?" She asked continuing to look at him.

"Yeah, Clarke said she could convince him that I'm not a big boob," he looked at her with a smile she nodded smiling as well. "So you fell down the stairs huh?" He asked looking at her.

"Impressive you're like Sherlock Holmes." He smiled proudly before she continued, "with brain damage." His response changed to an eye roll.

"Whatever you big loser."

"At least I don't have big boobs."

"Well I don't know," he tilted his head slightly looking at her. She scoffed hitting her arm.

"Have you talked to Alex at all?"

"I haven't had the time if you haven't noticed."

"I've noticed," he paused nodding nearing the camp the noise getting louder, "I notice everything." She looked up at him with that statement smiling with a small nod. "I'm sorry," he said looking at the glow of orange above the walls of the camp.

She questioned him, "Sorry?"

"I should've told you about the grounder. Finn-"

"Bellamy, shut up," she said sternly silencing his words. "I forgive you. As for O, she'll get over it."

As they arrived the two had mindlessly started holding hands unconsciously a while back. Cora didn't mind, and Bellamy didn't pull away. Clarke had yet another speech she prepared which she delivered in the best way possible. Cora had dropped off her supplies at the drop ship before walking into the tent with the webcam. One of the mothers leaving she stopped on her way out. "Yes dear?" She asked kindly. Her forehead had lines of stress running across and some hairs going gray. Cora could tell things were getting difficult on the Ark, she didn't comment on it.

"Hello, could you get guardsman Alex Hale to come in here please?"

"Of course," she said walking out shortly after.

Cora waited a moment as doors could be heard opening shortly after. "hey ki-oh my god what happened to your face?" The males words shifted quickly looking at the cut up girl through the screen. She'd forgotten how beaten up it was until he had pointed it out.

"Well it's good to know you're still as blunt as ever," she responded with a small laugh leaving though her nose.

"No problem," he smiled, he looked much happier than she felt.

"So any life events going on I should know about?" She asked eagerly looking at him. It'd been weeks since they'd talked and nothing had changed, nothing between them had changed even if their surroundings had.

"Um remember Cassie?" He asked looking a bit nervous.

"The pretty brunette who is way, way, way out of your league?"

"Easy there satan, yeah she's the one. She said yes."

"Holy ballcakes she said yes?" She smiled looking at him. For once there was good news not something horrible or death like but decent good news.

"Oh hey I almost forgot happy early-"

"Don't say it you know how much I hate it."

"Birthday."

"You're an ass," she smiled shaking her head.

"What it's like only a couple hours away technically."

"You're still an ass."

"And you're a little turd."

"I'm a beautiful little turd."

"Not with that face."

She gasped pretending to be hurt, "whatever."

"Hey listen they're calling us to our stations I gotta go."

"Okay, I'll um see you soon."

"Bye kid." He said getting up and leaving. Cora sat there a moment smiling, she got up taking off the headset and walking out.

She walked over to the gate her leg beginning to throb, it hadn't hurt over the walk but now settling all the pain had flooded back in. All she really wanted to do was sit, but she didn't want to sleep she didn't wanna know what she would find in the depths of her dreams. "Miller," she said stoping next to him, he flinched ready for another shiner. "Relax, I'm not a psychopath at the moment. I'm taking watch go get some real sleep. Oh and sorry about earlier." He nodded with a cheeky smile walking off. She grabbed a price of reflective metal lying in the floor and glanced at her reflection, she did look like shit. She rolled up her pant leg and used the dim light of the camp fire to see blood barely seeping through the bandage.

The sound of mushed footsteps walking her way caused her to look up seeing a tall figure with messy chocolate hair walk over. "Whoa two visits in one night I must be special," she cracked a joke as he sat on the makeshift chair next to her.

"You wish," he rolled his eyes looking at her leg. "Oh um Clarke wanted me to clean up your wounds and bandage your leg again." He said looking at her as she nodded seeing the sense in that.

"Ah so by orders of the Princess you're here, okay," she smiled at him.

"Not just because Clarke told me," he paused, their eyes seemed to lock as looked at each other in the brief moment of silence. "Now come on let me see your leg," he said as she scooted the chair a bit closer lifting up her leg resting on his lap. He removed the bandage and dabbed it with some water, she winced a bit as he did so. "Sorry," his normally rough voice was soft as he continued.

"You're okay," she flashed a small smile as he wrapped up her leg. "Thanks." She kept her leg on his lap for a bit letting it ret before moving it much. "Oh hey Clarke found some ointment that should be good, make yourself look pretty again."

She huffed a laugh, "thanks asshole." He nodded with a small smile, handing her the small tube. She took it applying a small amount on her fingers, she applied it to her cheek where a nasty cut had appeared durning her fall. Mostly missing the wound Bellamy shook his head.

"You're horrible give it here," he decided sticking out his hand. She sighed giving the tube back to the boy. He had put a bit on his fingers as well and lightly brushed his finger over her cheek. Her eyes locked onto his as he was beyond focused on her cheek. She bit her inner lip flinching a bit. "Sorry," his voice was gentle like his touch.

"It's fine," she said examining every feature to his face. The way his nose twitched every time she flinched just the slightest. His deep chocolate puppy dogs eyes, his small lip bite as he focused deeply and his hair curling over his forehead. His other hand gently lifted her chin moving to a small on the edge of her cheekbone.

"He loved you," Bellamy said avoiding any eye contact.

"I know, I loved him too. Funny what a couple days of bonding does," she continued to look at him. I wonder what a couple weeks does, the thought drifted into her mind.

"He died saving my life. I owe him my life," he said taking a small glimpse up at her. She reached up taking his hand holding her chin up into hers.

"He died so you could help save everyone else, so you be the leader you were meant to be." She brought his hand down a bit and he moved his other, she gently rubbed her thumb over the back of his hand.

He nodded, "Thanks Scout."

There was silence for a moment as her mind rethought the memories of blonde curly hair kid. "I'm sorry."

He questioned easing a brow, "for?"

"The shiner, I've given a couple, they're pretty special lookin'," she said continuing to rub her hand over his.

Bellamy's face lightened a with small tug of a smile as he looked up into her eyes. "Yeah, you do give nasty ones."

"Meh- they're beautiful," she defended with a smile.

"No see you're beautiful these are painful," the words slipped his lips before he could even think.

"You know, you'd make a great girl. Compliment someone then completely destroyed them right after."

"I'd be one hot girl."

"Yeah you'd be the hot girl," she nodded with a giggle.

In the distance Clarke sat at the same campfire as Octavia and Miller. The three had noticed the small laughter coming from the two. "Bet you the end up together," Miller said sipping his container of water.

"What are we betting?" Octavia asked looking at the two.

"A decent meal," Clarke huffed out watching as they laughed about something else.

"I bet before it starts snowing," Octavia said taking a small sip of his water,

"Nah to soon," Miller paused earning an eye roll from Octavia. "Middle of winter."

Octavia scoffed, "to much sexual tension for that long. Clarke?"

"Between the two of you early winter after it starts snowing," she watched as they carried on the conversation both having a constant smile on their faces.

Octavia looked over at her brothers every once and a while he'd do that looking down smile thing than back at her that drove girls mad. Her bright blue eyes were almost glowing from the small reflection of the fire. Bellamy watched as she tucked a stand of her golden locks behind her ear.

"You guys know what's tomorrow right?" Claire asked glancing at her friends even if one was overly pissed with her.

"You mean unity day?" Miller asked a question in response as if that wasn't it.

"Oh you don't know."

"Don't know? What don't I know?" He continued the questions.

"Cora's birthday," Octavia said bluntly looking at him. "She really doesn't like it all that much so I wouldn't expect much." She continued looking at him before looking back at her.

"No one tell Jasper, she might dedicate the first drink to her tomorrow," Miller said chuckling at the thought of her mini rage. The thought was soon gone being a victim of it. Clarke smiled with a small chuckle seeing his face change as he thought though everything.

I um. I don't even know really. That was an emotional roller coaster. Wow. Well I've finally updated and I love all the comments I've been receiving seriously I'll start crying form laughter purely because of them so thank you.

Also I want you to know that what I did with Cora and her father wasn't something I thought of lightly because it has affected her whole life not just a one time thing like oh hey look at that and move on. No it was a big deal for her and so she stabbed him 20 times, not killing him, and ended up in a cell for the rest of her life.

Her birthday is on Unity Day. Oh this should be fun. Miller, Clarke and Octavia taking bets. Who do you think is right?
