Making Bracelets
16:54, 30 December 2023Akira's POV
I quickly changed into a forest green tank top and some brown cargo shorts. I didn't feel like wearing my jacket while training, so I just left it. I tied my hair up into a ponytail before leaving. I didn't know when or where should I go, so I went to ask Jake.
" Hey Jake?" I asked. He was talking with Neytiri.
" Yes?"
" Did the Tsahik tell you where training was? And when?"
Neytiri looked up and smiled at me.
" She said that someone will take you there." Jake replied.
" Okay...that's sus, but thanks!" I thanked before walking out of the marui. I didn't have anything to do so I just walked around. I waved at a few Metkayina kids who were playing tag. I didn't know why but their laugh made me smile. I couldn't help but think of the time when I was with my gang. Uncle Logan used to chase me around the house, while Celtra yelled at us for the noise but always ends up playing along. Those were good times. Great times. And I really missed them.
" Kira!"
Tsireya walked towards me with a smile.
" Hey." I waved.
" We're making bracelets, wanna join?" she asked, beaming.
" Sure," I agreed. Tsireya led me to her marui, where the others were at. Everyone except Aonung. That was weird but I'm not complaining.
" Kira!" Tuk called, excitement filled her voice.
" Hi Tuk," I gave her a hug. I sat down and glanced at Lo'ak, then at Neteyam who both looked like they didn't wanted to be here.
" You look grumpy," I commented. Lo'ak nudge my arm.
" Shut up," he grinned. I grinned back.
" You both don't seem so happy," I said, raising my brow.
" Neteyam and Lo'ak were forced into making bracelets," Kiri said, trying not to laugh. I smirked.
" Tuk did a great job forcing them," Tsireya told me, clapping her hands excitingly.
" Good Job, Tuk, I taught you well," I told Tuk while ruffling her hair, making Kiri and Tsireya laugh. Tuk grinned at me.
" What!" Lo'ak exclaimed, nudging me. Neteyam glared at me playfully. I chuckled.
" You're welcome you big baby," I told Lo'ak. Lo'ak nudge my side playfully, rolling his eyes.
___
" Teyam, what do you think?" Tuk held up her bracelet to show her older brother. Neteyam smiled down at her. Their affection really warms my heart. Yeesh, I sound corny. But it's true.
" It's really pretty, Tuk," Neteyam commented, " Good job."
Tuk then turned to Kiri and asked the same thing.
" It's beautiful, little sister," Kiri told her as Tuk beamed up at her.
" Lo'ak! What do you think?" Tuk called.
" It's nice," Lo'ak said, giving her a thumbs up before looking back down at his.
" But mine's better," he mumbled. I nudged his side and he hissed up at me before smilling.
" Kira, what about you?" Tuk asked, holding up her bracelet again.
" It's amazing, just like it's maker," I said smilling at her. Tuk giggled.
She then showed Tsireya.
" It's so pretty!" Tsireya gushed.
Then she asked Rotxo.
" Nice work," he said and gave her a high five.
___
" Kira, what do you think?"
Lo'ak held up his bracelet. He actually did a good job. The details were simple yet unique and the beads he chose were beautiful. The seashells made everything come together.
" It's actualy really nice," I said, " Surprising."
Lo'ak gave me a look. " What do you mean 'surprising'?"
I smirked. " Nothing."
" Hmph, but thank you," he said. I chuckled.
___
" Can I see yours?" Lo'ak asked, peeping over my shoulder. I used my hands to cover my creation or...creations.
" Not yet, Lo," I groaned, " This is the 5th time you asked me that."
" Yeesh, Kira, I just want to take a peek," he said crossing his arms. Neteyam snickered. Lo'ak glared at his brother.
" It's a surprise, so no, no peeking."
He groaned and crossed his arms. I glanced at him, chuckling to myself.
___
" I'm done!" I exclaimed.
" Finally!" Lo'ak said, peeking over my shoulder but I blocked him.
" Oi!" he complained. Tsireya giggled.
" Neteyam first," I teased him. Lo'ak gasped.
" No fair!" he cried.
" Be patient, little brother," Neteyam teased, smriking.
" Hmph," Lo'ak grumbled. Neteyam and I exchanged looks before chuckling.
I held up a bracelet I made for him.
" Here, it's for you," I smiled as I helped him put it on. Neteyam brushed his fingers across it, smilling.
" Thank you," he said before grabbing my arm. I looked at him in confusion. He grabbed the bracelet he made and tied it around my wrist.
" I made it for you," he said softly.
" Aww, thanks Teyam!" I gushed. I stared at it and was really happy.
Then, I held up another bracelet that I made for Lo'ak. " It's for you," I told Lo'ak. Lo'ak grinned as I helped him put it on.
" Yay," he said making us laugh. He grabbed his and handed it to me.
" I made one for you too," he smiled as he wrapped it around my other wrist.
" Thanks Lo," I thanked him. Then I signaled for Tuk to come to me. And she did. I gave her the bracelet I made for her.
" Yay! I got one too!" she squealed.
I gave Kiri the one I made for her.
" For a really special girl," I told her. She smiled.
" Thank you, Kira," she said, " It's beautiful."
" Reya, this is for you," I called, giving the one I made for Tsireya to her.
" It's so cute! Thank you so much!" she squealed and hugged me.
And since I was feeling good and felt like 'Santa Akira', I even made one for Rotxo.
" Here, I know we're not that close but hey, we're friends and I hope we can get to know each other a little more in the future," I said, giving Rotxo his.
" Thanks Akira, " he smiled, " You're not bad for a skyperson."
I smiled.
" Hey, there's one more, who did you make it for?" Lo'ak asked, pointing at the last bracelet I made.
" Oh." I spoke.
Ooh, Lo'ak's not gonna like it.
" Um, I made it for..." I cringed, " Aonung."
Lo'ak's face soured when I said the name. Tsireya looked shocked.
" You made one for my brother? After what he did?" she gasped. I winced when I saw Lo'ak's face. Neteyam looked surprised.
" I was feeling happy, okay?" I reasoned.
" But-"
" No buts, Reya," I told her.
" Lo, I need you to NOT freak out," I said, " Okay?"
Lo'ak took 8 deep breaths before calming.
" Okay, I'm cool," he said through gritted teeth, " Only because it's for you."
I hugged him.
" Thank Eywa!"
And I felt Lo'ak hugged me back.
