This was a very rare occasion, considering Melissa was almost always working.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀"Mackenzie, stop playing with your food and eat it." Melissa told.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀"I'm not hungry." Kenzie muttered.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Soon enough Maddie and Brandon came trotting down the stairs. "We're leaving." Maddie yelled as she pressed the button on the elevator.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀"Bye sweetie, have fun." Melissa yelled back. She looked at Kenzie and furrowed her brows.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀"Mackenzie, why aren't you going to the school dance? You love those sorts of things." She spoke.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Kenzie looked up. "I don't have any friends to go with." She sighed.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Melissa looked confused. "What do you mean?" She laughed. "Everyone wants to be your friend."⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Kenzie just stared at her food, refusing to let any tears even form.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀"And what about Annie-"⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀"Me and Annie got into a fight." Kenzie butted in. "And now everyone hates me." Her voice went quiet.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀"I'm sure not everyone hates you sweetie." Melissa tried to cheer up.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀"Yes they do." Kenzie told. "They all think I'm a bitch. And now the guy that I really, really like hates me all over again."⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Melissa tilted her head. "You've not mentioned a guy." She smirked.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀"Yeah well it's over now, he even said so." Kenzie huffed. "And the thing is I spent most of my life thinking I absolutely hated him and then one night he was just so nice to me, and after that I just kept falling deeper and deeper, even though I didn't want too, I tried to stop myself but it didn't work." Now tears were seeping from Kenzie's brown eyes. "I wanted to hate him, I wanted to hate him so bad but I didn't, I could never. Because I love him." She sobbed.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Melissa came over and put her arm around her daughter. "Kenz, if you really love this boy, don't sit around and watch. Go get him." She rubbed her hand against Kenzie's shoulder.
