Days Later

Collage Exams ended Ohm ran to invigilation class and dragged me out of the class.

Drinks?

What Nooo. I said lazyly moving my body cause I needed a long peaceful sleep which I lacked for days for the preparation of exams.

But still he somehow managed to drag me out of the class. And suddenly Clare came in front of us.

Hi. She said in her causal tone. We both locked our eyes for a moment which I ignored.

Let's go Ohm. I said now dragging Ohm out of the college building. I sat behind his bicycle.

Hey....Nanon. Did you give a thought of any university in your mind? He asked while I was enjoying the cold breeze hitting my face.

Nope. I replied. While standing at the back of his bicycle holding his shoulders for support.

Well. If you have any university in your mind. Just say me. Okay.

Why?

Because it will be nice if we go to the same university.

First of all I need to pass a competitive exam and  then think about the seat. For now I don't have any university in my mind. I said but then I looked back as I heard Clare ringing her bicycle bell.

Immediately I looked forward, ignoring her. She was behind us but soon she was maintaining the same speed with Ohm. Ohm smiled looking at the competitive spirit of Clare. She was not backing off nor Ohm giving a chance to her indirectly he was mocking her to try matching speed with me.

Clare was giving me a glare in between. And when I stopped looking at her she just over took Ohm's bicycle.

Shiaaa.....I was having fun. She is actually too speedy. I liked it. He replied smirking.

By the way what's with you and her? He asked me, I choose to keep the silence between us.

I wonder who broke up with whom. He whispered barely hearable to Nanon turning to the left while giving a last look to Clare from his bicycle rare view mirror.

On the Day of the Compititive exam.

Ohm knocked on the door which made me flinch. I looked at the clock which was showing at 8:30 am I immediately took my shirt and opened the door for him.

Ohm looked here and there. Oh god you were still studying even at the last moment. Did you even sleep?

Yes...I nodded for maybe like 2 hours. I replied then brushing my teeth.

Aagrh make it fast Nanon. Remember even I need to give the same we need to reach the centre before 11 00 Am.

Half an hour of the exam I couldn't solve the test my hands were shaking looks like I am going screw this exam. I thought to myself but then taking a deep breath and being calm I started giving the remaining answers to the questions 3 hours of exam which felt like 15 min cause the time was not enough for me to manage.

Coming out of the exam hall there again I faced Clare. I faced palmed myself all over again feeling a little bit too embarrassed over the last interaction I had with her since then all I could do was ignoring her.

Hey.....Ohm came out of nowhere he felt the tension between us to brighten up the situation he started blabbering something or the other.

How was your exam he finally asked when I was too silent.

I nodded my head in a no.

He kept his hands on my shoulder.

No worries. I believe you will get into a nice university.

And what about you? I asked.

As usual I'm going to follow you to any university you are getting into. So cheer up. Let's go to the match.

He dragged me to the match even tho I refused him cause I needed that sleep which I lacked for past a week.

He ripped off his shirt throwing it on my face and running towards the basketball ground.

I covered my face under his shirt slowly drifting into sleep but I was wide awake thinking all the possibilities of my score which was slowly getting replaced by Ohm. I wish I had rich parents like Ohm. I could have been in any university with out any struggle or endless sleeps. But then I remembered how he was refilling my coffee mugs, filling the refrigerator with all the energy drinks and also taking care of my meals time to time.

I felt good. His shirt smell was lingering in my nose and then I started admiring him in the game. I was smiling to myself how silly he is in the game and how dumb he can be sometimes but then such a Lion in the play ground.

Nanon. Clare called clearing her throat.

I looked beside me to the familiar voice.

Nanon wait. I need to ask you a question. She said and I sat back into my bench.

I know you are ignoring me but I never knew the exact reason but looks like now I know the reason. She said looking at me and I was looking at her with confusion about the conclusion she is jumping into.

You........like your friend Ohm. Am I right? She asked me this questions and I looked at her dumb fooled.

After mins of silence which felt like ages.

I'm sorry Clare. I never had any intentions of hurting you. You are too pretty but the problem is in me. I'm sorry. I said. She hugged me from the side.

Thankyou for opening up to me na. I will keep your secret to myself she said Zipping her mouth.

But can we atleast stop pretending like strangers and be friends.

I nodded my head. But that was not the end of the story as Ohm was looking at us and our interlocked hands. .

Days later.

Clare called Nanon for the same movie which Ohm asked Nanon to watch with him.

But for some reasons he said no to Ohm and Yes to Clare cause he needs to clear things between them that awkwardness between them.

Clare asked for some cliñch rom com while Ohm asked for deadpool but then again for some reasons Ohm changed his mind and got tickets for that rom com which Nanon agreed to watch with Clare.

Ohm who stepped into the theater with a whole bucket of pop corn was watching movie whole heartedly enjoying every second of movie.

Until unless he observed the familiar figures in the corner seats of the theatre. .

Where have you been? Nanon asked as Ohm stepped into the condo early in the morning drunk and wasted.

You need not to know. He said tossing immediately on the bed. Nanon shaked his head and quietly slipped beside Ohm.

Ohm turned around feeling hurt.

At least he could care to ask more of a questions. He told to himself turning his face opposite to Nanon a tear dropping out of his eye which he quickly whipped it away and feel asleep.

Sometimes Ohm just doesn't understand why does Nanon feels so close to him but at the same time very far away that he himself lost the tracks of the guy who he always want to stuck with.

After a while which felt like ages for Nanon slowly turned around removing Ohm's shoes and jacket off from his skins. Slowly tossing in the small space beside Ohm as he almost took 70% of the bed.

He looked at Ohm again with the same eyes which he hide it from Ohm's eyes. The same eyes which are always searching or maybe admiring something more than a friend Ohm could be.

Soon the exams results where out 3 of them went back to their college to check the results hopefully Ohm passed with pass marks , Clare passed enough to get a seat into the nice university according to her reservations and coming to Nanon who was shaking inside out as he couldn't score much of a top marks to get into free seat University college of Engineering.

Hey.... everything's okay? Clare asked Nanon who smiled back and nodded his head.

Ohm came to Nanon.

Atleast now do you have any university in your Mind?

Aagrh give me some time to figure out Ohm. He said kinda pissed off about how Ohm keep on asking him to choose a university.

Why are you always mad at me these days? Ohm asked walking back of Nanon and Clare.

Oh...here comes again the same typical story. I am not mad at you Ohm for the last time. I am just worried about Marks. Now please leave me alone for sometime. He said getting back to his tracks.

(Ohm chuckled sarcastically)

Well it doesn't seem like you are going to be alone tonight. He said a bit loud which was loud enough to both Nanon and Clare. Clare who understood the sarcasm of Ohm walked away feeling ugly.

What the fuck is wrong with you? Nanon asked irritated.

Well you don't need to know either. If you want to keep secrets well I have mine too. Ohm said. Walking away from Nanon who stood there like an idol.

And it makes me even mad when you don't care about knowing what's wrong with me. Ohm almost yealled.

Nanon who got back to his sense followed Ohm who was just playing Basketball using so much of force. Watching him playing mad made Nanon feel guilty.

He was keeping Ohm away for his own selfishness instead of being loyal and honest in the friendship.

Ohm with the final goal pushed the ball into the basketball and fell down his knee got injured. Nanon tried to pull him up which Ohm clearly ignored. He walked away to the nurse room. .

Ohm sat there on the bed thinking about the past few days where Nanon was too close to Clare and the distance he was feeling lately.

Nanon who was calm sat next to Ohm. After what felt like ages.

I'm sorry. I was behaving like a child. Ohm confessed and Nanon was listening to Ohm trying to understand the words he was trying to frame.

But can I ask you this question as a best friend I guess. Cause best friends have no secrets as far as I know.

Emm..Nanon nodded.

What is Clare to you? He asked without any hesitation Nanon gapped at Ohm.

She is Just a Friend to me. Nanon replied calmly.

Are you sure? Cause I think she is good. The way she carries her personality, her carefree character and not to mention her smile is gorgeous. You can tell me if you have kids crush on her.

What if I have? Nanon asked back which was taken back Ohm. He was speechless for a minute a creepy smile taking over his anxious facial expression.

She is just a friend buddy. Come on. Nanon said patting on Ohm's shoulder. .

Days passed by....

I heard results are out? Nanon's Dad asked while they were having their food.

Yes. Dad. Nanon replied anxious.

How was the result?

I will get into a nice college. He replied.

What matters is you getting into a Government College not some random private college.

Nanon kept silent for a while.

SO IT'S FUCKING PRIVATE COLLEGE THIS TIME? HUH. Nanon's father bangged his hand on the table loudly which made Nanon to flinch in his place. .

Ohm knocks.

What?

You took so much time to open the door? Are you studying again? Ohm asked looking around.

Well I started preparing for the competitive exam again within these 6 months I need to give the exam again so I can get into a Government College.

Uff. Why are you so desperate to get into Government College? Ohm asked scratching his head looking at the same old previous years question papers pilled up on the study table.

A Rich kid like you won't get it. Nanon said genuinely.

Nanon. Will you come to the drama skit? We will watch it together-

Ohm. I think we don't have to hang with eachother all 24/7. You should get used to be without me.

What do you mean by that Nanon?

Nanon shakes his head.

I have to study. You go. And please do not disturb me my brain and my hea- nevermind you leave. Nanon said pushing Ohm out of the room.

Did he go nuts?

It's getting real. I have been digging myself down Deeper I can't stop this Ohm. I can't stop these feelings anymore. It's better to maintain the distance between us. Nanon thought, looking at the closed door.

Clare was waiting for Nanon to show up to the drama.

She was the main lead and Nanon promised her he will watch her as a lead role in the play. But she was upset that he didn't show up.

She was getting sadder and sadder as the every moment was passing by. But then she saw Ohm immediately she ran to him to ask.

Did he come with you? She asked with last hope and this time she was so ready to move on from the dead remains of her feelings towards Nanon.

He said he needs to prepare for Exam. Ohm replied.

Will he come or not? Answer in yes or no. Clare said with red tears filled eyes.

No......I-I guess. Ohm said unsure why Clare was now crying.

Aren't you go on the stage? They are waiting for you. He said after watching felt like ages.

No. She whispered now tears streaming out of her eyes.

FUCK NO. It's all because of you Ohm. She said punching Ohm weekly feeling rejected and ugly at the same time.

She knew she will end up in a situation like this but she never watched to accept Nanon can't feel the same way as her. Nanon can't look at her like how she looks at her.

She wanted Nanon and Nanon wants to stay with Ohm. She felt ugly and started screaming and pushing Ohm. Ohm was clueless he dragged her to the backstage.

After 10-15 minutes.

Hmm. Have this water. He said giving her a water bottle kneeling down on the floor to reach her height.

Now if you are calm. Would you like to share what's going on in your mind so it will get off your shoulders? Ohm said in a possibile gentle tone a Man could ever have.

I like Nanon but I don't think he likes me back. She replied looking into Ohm's dark back orbs which were glowing under the orange backstage light.

Ohm was looking at her trying to process what she was saying and bam he met with the softness on his lips. Clare was taken aback realising her mistake.

I-I I'm Sorry! I was carried away.....I shouldn't have done that. I-I guess I need to leave now. Clare said hurrying to leave but Ohm pulled her arm back.

Yes. You shouldn't have done that now. He said and pulled her neck in a deep kiss.
