Opening my eyes I found myself in some type of.. capsule? a fridge? We'll call it a fridge, considering I was freezing..

The last thing I remember was falling asleep in here. I don't remember for how long tho.. Days? Weeks? Months even? It felt like any normal sleep tho.

Finding a way to get out, as it was getting claustrophobic, I found myself in what I assumed was a rocket ship.

It was filled with people in the same state as me, a bunch of lockers and fridges, and a bunch of workers floating around.

I got cought off guard when a nurse stood above me, checking my condition.

"Where are we?" I questioned looking around.

"Oh, you'll see sunshine." He said as he well..Floated away?

I got out of my fridge, going over to where the lockers with clothes are, until I found one with the name tag Audrie L/N.

Right. This mission was originally for him, I'm just the replacement.Awesome.

I loved Audrie, but it gets boring living in someone elses shadows. Your brother this, Your brother that, blah blah blah..

As I was opening my locker, one of the workers started talking through the microphone.

"You have been frozen for 6 years 9 months and 23 days. You will feel nauseous, you will feel hungry, you will be weak. Please take the sacks provided for your convenience. Thank you all."

6 years have passed.. How old does that make me? Like 21? Sheesh, I'm as old as Audrie was when he died.

Sigh.

After some time, the ship started shaking, as a sign that we were about to land on the Planet. Sitting down on one of the seats, I struggled to put my seat belt on, considering the nervous breakdown I was having. That was until a kind man offered help.

"Having a bit of a hard time?" He said besides me.

"Sort off.." I chuckled, before he grabbed the seat belt, putting it on for me. "Thanks" Smiling at him, I finaly got to see his features.

"No problem.. I'm Norman by the way."

"Y/N L/N" I shook his hand.

"L/N? As in Audries younger sister?" He said, wide eyed.

"Yup. That's me." Letting go of his hand, I stratched the back of my neck.

"Oh, it's a pleasure meeting you.. So sorry for your loss. Audrie was a great guy." He sighed.

"You knew him?" I asked, this time me wide eyed.

He nodded his head "We were getting ready to go to this planet together for about a year or so. He would't stop talking about you, like half the time."

Suddenly I felt something inside me break. The thought of him caring so much, he talked at work about me? The same work he tried to keep me away from, but here I am.

I wanted to burst out in tears, but I kept my cool. Clearing my throat, a med tech approached us.

"Everyone, please put your oxygen masks on! We're about to land."

I squinted my eyes tight, praying for my life, and everyone elses in this moment.

Surprisingly the landing was smooth, and I could tell I was being judged by practicaly everyone. I chuckled nervously, before the giant doors of the ship opened, revealing the beautiful nature.

"Woah.." I said.

"Wait till you see it from the outside." Norman said, as he secured his mask and quickly left.

I smiled, putting on my mask before I choke to death. "Remember, you can't breathe on Pandora, so if you wish to live, keep those masks on." The med tech said before turning to me. "Don't make me wait kid."

"Yes sir, sorry!" I said as I ran out, but to my luck, I tripped over my shoelaces the moment I stepped out. I groaned in pain, before a HUGE tank started driving torwards me, making me quickly jump out of it's way.

As I observed it, I noticed many arrows with feathers of different colors on the tires.

Hugging my backpack in fear, I could hear some people laugh from a far.

"This has to be a joke. She wont last a day."

"That's Audrie's sister. Embarrasing."

I scoffed at their stupid comments, before finding the courage to finaly go to the laboratory. Before I entered the building which contained the lab, one of the man stopped us from walking in. "Before we take you to the lab, you have to listen to a speech by Colonel Miles. It's required, unfortonately. Let's all take our seats."

Getting inside the room, I put my bakcpack on my back, but dropped it when someone bumped my shoulder. I didn't look to see who it was, but It hurt like hell.

I hate it here. Maybe New York isn't so bad after all.

Before I could bend down to pick it up, a man besides me already picked it up handing it to me. I looked up to thank him. He had white hair, a bunch of scars and looked very buff for an old man. Intimidating almost. "Thank you." He just smiled, before he started talking.

"You are not in Kansas anymore." He stated, making the whole room go quiet. I'm guessing this was the Colonel Miles. He walked to the front, finaly being able to face the crowd in front of him. "You are on Pandora, ladies and gentleman. Respect that for every second of the year.."

Turning around, he pointed at a huge tree out in the woods. "Back there, every single thing that breathes, crawls or flies want's to kill you, and eat your eyes for jujubees."

"Disgusting." I said quietly enough so no one could hear.

"Out there lives a population called the Na'vi." I looked around the room as the man continued talking. Everyone here knew what they were signing up for. Just the thought of most of these people losing their lives makes me get goosebumps. I'm probably one of the motherfuckers who die on the first day.

"It is my duty to keep you alive." He continued. "I will not succeed. Not with all of you." He looked at me when he said the last part. "So chins up soliders." I smiled at him. Despite his handsomly-intimidating looks, he looks like a good guy.

After the speech we were all finally taken to the lab, where I finally met up with my friend Norman.

I looked around in awe, observing the machines around me, until he jumpscared me making me jump back. "Boo!" He said, followed by a laughter.

"Phew, you scared me." I chuckled. "It's great to see you Norm."

"I'm glad to see you too.. The people here don't seem so passionate about making friends.." He said rubbing the back of his neck.

"Tell me about it. Remind me, where we're suppose to be headed again?" I asked.

"Right.. Follow me." He started walking ahead of me through the lab, making me follow after. All around the place were a bunch of scientists, marines and what not, all minding their bussines.

We stop in front of a door with the sign "Bio Lab" on it.

"We're basicaly here to drive these remotely controlled bodies called avatars. They were created from the mix of Human and Na'vi DNA." He explained as we got in.

"What is Na'vi?" I questioned. I came onto this planet without any knowledge, so I guess we have a lot to work on.

"A humanoid population on Pandora. You can say they're aliens." He said.

I smirked "Cool."

As we continued walking, we made it to a large tank, and a scientist standing on the side of it.

We stopped to stare at them in awe. Inside one of them was a woman. Blue skin tone, extremly large in size and some of her features matching mine.

In the other one was a man, same description, but he looked like norman.

"Are these our Avatars?" I question,my head perking up as I got a response from the scientist. "Yea, we need to do a few more tests, and you can take em out for a ride."

I nodded my head, not knowing what's happening. "This is all so new to me." I said.

"You'll learn, don't worry about it. This is Dr. Max Patel, by the way Y/N. He's in charge of the avatars."

"Nice to meet you. I'm Y/N L/N." I put my hand out and he gladly shook it. "I'm looking forward to working wiht you Doc!" I said awkardly, trying to keep my cool, but cringed at every word that came out.

"It's nice to meet you too Y/N, but please call me Max. There's no need for formalities since we'll be working together for a few years from now." He said kindly.

"Sure thing! I can be unformal!"He cringed at my words, and just walked away with an awkward smile. "Was that too much?" I questioned Norman.

"Yea."

"Okay."
