Fair Love

After getting changed, Fiona and I walk to the fair. It was quite busy, took about 30 minutes to even get to the ticket stand. $20 a person which is a little ridiculous but I can definitely pay it, so I did. The stand receptionist gives me and Fiona wrist bands to signify that I paid to get into the event.

Y/N: We probably could've snuck in

Fiona: But then we wouldn't have the bands

Y/N: Could've just dug some out of the trash

Fiona: Ew, no

I chuckle at Fiona, I've come to really enjoy being around her. She's a very amazing person and a pretty fox.

Fiona: So, what are we gonna do?

Y/N: Well, just about everything, let's walk and see what interests us.

Fiona: Yeah, good idea

We both walk around the fair for a while, I start to wonder why we came here since we weren't doing anything for a while - that is until I heard a gasp, I look over to Fiona and see that she had run up to a game stand - looking at the large plushies hung up on the ceiling of the stand. I approach the stand beside her. The stand owner comes up to us from behind the counter, with that good old "This is totally rigged, now give me your money." smile, I would just move along but Fiona seems to really want one of the toys.

Y/N: You want one of these things?

Fiona: Yeah! I want the big purple dragon!

Fiona points to the plushie that's hanging from the ceiling. I stare at the giant plush for a moment, the chances of me getting it for her is pretty slim but I'm sure she'd appreciate the thought.

Y/N: Alright, what do I need to do?

It's one of those generic games with targets and a toy gun, the only thing to hate about this one is instead of shooting darts or water it's sensor based, which means it's completely luck based. The guy sets a 30 seconds timer, to get that big dragon I have to hit 45 targets which shouldn't be too hard... Maybe - The owner starts the game, targets come out one by one increasing in pace over the time span.... Like really fast.... Like how am I supposed to hit these!!? I ended up hitting only 15 out of the 45 targets. The owner gives me that good ol' sly "you got ripped off" smile.

Owner: Well, you're able to get any of these prizes

He gestures to a row of small plushies and toys, I turn to Fiona

Y/N: Which one do you want?

Fiona: Hmmm, I'll taaaake

She puts a finger on her chin and looks at her choice of crappy prizes.

Fiona: That one

She points to a cute small fox plush, the stand owner grabs the fox and hands it to Fiona

Owner: There you go pretty lady, have with the rest of the fair

Fiona takes the plushie and move along.

Y/N: Sorry for not being able to get you the dragon...

Fiona: It's okay! You tried your best ba-....

Y/N: Hm? What was that?

Fiona: Huh? Oh nothing...

Y/N: Oh.. Okay?

Odd... She was clearly about to say something but if she insists it's nothing then it must be nothing. We continue walking around, playing some games, getting ripped off, eating snacks which were actually worth the money. This went on for about an hour and a half until something caught my eye. A person sitting at a table with a big poster at the front that reads "Beauty Pageant sign up" I stop and stare at it, Fiona walked a bit further before realizing I had stopped - she comes back and looks at me

Fiona: Hey, what're you looking at?

She looks at the sign

Y/N: We should sign you up.

Fiona: Really?

Y/N: What? It'll be fun.

Fiona: Won't I have to change into other clothes?

Y/N: Of course but I'm sure it's not as bad as official ones.

Fiona: Eh, I don't know. I feel like this is just gonna make me self conscious.

Y/N: Oh it won't be that bad

Fiona: Mmmm.... Fine I'll do it

We both walk up to the stand, the man sitting there simply tells Fiona to sign her name on the board and walk up the stairs into the behind stage area, I watch her walk off before looking at the man - I was sadly not allowed to go with her... But I did manage to sneak in, perks of being a thief. I come up behind Fiona and tap her on the shoulder, she turns to me, a surprised look on her face when she notices it's me.

Fiona: Y/N? How did you get in here?

Y/N:.... I have methods, anyways, I just came in to see how you're feeling. Seeing as to how I'm the one that made you sign up.

Fiona: I'm fine... Just a little nervous is all

I take a good look at her and see that she changed out of her yellow sun dress and is now in a long satin silver dress.

Y/N: Wow... You look absolutely beautiful Fiona

Fiona's cheeks turn pink, she looks down to the side bashfully

Fiona: ... Thank you so much.

I gently put a finger under her chin and softly raise it up, making her look up at me. We both stare at each other for a bit before we hear a PA system come on, telling all contestants to get ready

Y/N: Alright, good luck out there Fiona

Fiona: Thanks... See you soon

Fiona walks up to me and kisses me on the cheek before walking out of the room. I stand there stunned for a bit, recalling everything that had just happened, blushing at the part where she came up and graced my cheek with the presence of her lips.... why was I a thief? I would've made one helluva poet.  Chuckling to myself, I make my way out of the backroom  and into the crowd.  The show began shortly after, dozens of women came out both human and mobian, showing off their beauty in their dresses.  Fiona comes out after a few minutes, walking to the end of the walkway, spinning - showing us all of her beauty before stopping, her back to the crowd, she looks over her shoulder and winks before walking back down the walkway.  

Y/N: Wow... She's something...

After the show finished, they revealed the top 3 winners.  Fiona had gotten 2nd, I guess when going up against Mina Mongoose for 1st there's not much of a chance.  They went back behind stage to change back into their original clothes, for a while I was thinking of how to award Fiona in some way, to make her feel good.  While thinking of what to do for her, I hear a familiar voice call from behind.

Fiona: Y/N!

I turn around and smile at the sight of the lovely red fox.

Y/N: Fiona

She approaches and like instinct we both embrace each other, standing in place in one another's arms for a few minutes before letting go, we both smile.

Y/N: Hey, you go on ahead to the entrance, I want to surprise you with something.

Fiona: How much of a surprise is it gonna be now that you've told me.

Y/N: Oh trust me, it'll still be a surprise 

I wink at her before running off, she makes her way to the entrance.  It takes me quite a bit of time to get to the entrance with Fiona's present.  When I arrive her back is turned to me, arms crossed and looking down.

Y/N: Hey Fiona!

She puts her head up, her ears shooting in the direction of my voice, she turns around and I see tears rolling down her cheeks.  Was she crying? Why?

Y/N: Fiona? What's the matter?

Fiona: I-I thought you left me... You took so long.

Y/N: Fiona, why would I do that to you?

Fiona: I don't know, it's just... With the way I've been treated, I guess it wouldn't have been much of a surprise to me.

Y/N: Fiona, I would never do that to you.  I was actually getting you that prize you wanted from earlier.

Fiona: Hm? Prize?

I take my hands out from behind my back and present to her the big purple dragon she had wanted - handing it out to her.

Fiona: Y/N- I- How did you even get that?

Y/N: Oh... You know me.

She takes the purple dragon and looks at it for a bit before smiling and holding it closely.

Fiona: Thank you so much Y/N... I love it so much... not as much as I love you though.

Y/N: Love... me?

Fiona: Yes, Y/N... I love you... 

I had no words, I approached Fiona and held her by the waist, she looks up at me and wraps her arms around my neck - purple dragon still in hand.  We gaze into each others eyes, our faces slowly getting closer until finally we both kiss, this is one of the best things I've ever felt in my life.  We split away a few seconds later, smiling at one another.

Y/N: Fiona, I love you.

Fiona: I love you too Y/N

We kiss again and thus begins our relationship, which I hope lasts till the end of time.
