Chapter 37
00:03, 29 January 2016*Payton's POV*My eyes flash open right when the ball goes into the top corner of the goal, and the goalie is too stunned by the curve of the ball, that he doesn't even jump or react. The whole team's hyped up now, along with the rest of the arena that's supporting us. I run up to Sean and nearly tackle him to the ground in a hug.
"We won!" I yelled and he just cringed at my loudness.
"I know," he laughed and I finally got up off of him.
"Is that?..." Sean said quietly, as if in disbelief. I turned around to where he was looking past me, and saw my dad, David Beckham, Robin Van Persie, and Leo Messi walking towards the team. Somehow the crowd noticed who was on the field now, and was going insane.
"Oh my god! Why's dad here?" I said, talking to Sean, but everyone was still around us.
"He didn't say anything about being here," Sean replied. They finally made their way over to us.
"Why didn't you tell us you were coming!" I yelled, hugging my dad.
"I wanted it to be a surprise, and I knew that you'd probably get nervous if you knew we were watching you guys play," he answered.
"Hi, nice to see you all, especially you," I smiled, and spoke to Messi.
"Been a long time, Payton, you've grown up too much," he joked.
"What're you doing here, dad?" Kaden asked Leo.
"I took some time off to come see you play, and I have to say, the next #10 is shaping up pretty good," he said proudly.
Everyone caught up in conversation, and soon enough we were given our trophies and medals, and some people from the crowd came over and asked me to take pictures, and sign stuff.
"Hi, what's your name?" I asked a young teenage girl, maybe 13, who gave me her silver iPhone 6 to sign.
"Bree," she smiled. "I love you so much, Payton, you're like my role model, and I wanna be just like you!" She gushed.
"No, I want you to be like you! Because I guarantee you, that's way better than being like me," I smiled and handed her her now signed iPhone back.
"Thank you so much!" She hugged me and left as another girl and boy came up, looking really similar, so I though that they were siblings.
"Hi, Payton, could we please get a picture?" The girl asked.
"Of course!" I smiled again. I love meeting fans, it's one of the best feelings in the world to know that you're admired so much for something you think so little of. A picture was taken by a lady, guessing their mom?
"Thank you! You're like my wcw every Wednesday," the teenage boy said, blushing a little bit.
"Awh, that means so much!" I blushed too, and the line went one for about half an hour longer. Finally the arena cleared up, and I had just met up with my last fan.
The guys were just messing around with the ball and tackling each other, and the losing team was there too. They didn't seem too upset that they lost, and looked to be getting along with the guys well.
"Sean, pass!" I yelled at Sean who now had the ball. He passed to me and I took on a 1v1 with Josh. I ran at him with the ball, then did a trick to confuse the shit out of him, and kicked the ball into the goal, as usual, curving it.
"Why do I even try..." Josh muttered and walked over to the group of guys on my team that I didn't know too well.
"You surprised all of us a little today," a guy from the other team approached me with his friends. Sean, Matt, Brooklyn, Jai, and Kaden walked behind me.
"I surprise a lot of people," I laughed.
"Well I think I'm speaking for all of us when I say that I've never seen a girl play like that.. must run in the Foster blood," the same guy said.
"Talent has nothing to do with genes, my dad favorited Sean and everything my dad knew, was taught to him. I taught myself everything I needed to know without any help. So no, I don't think it runs in the family," I laughed.
"Well either way, good game. Gave our team a challenge."
"Same goes to you." I smiled politely. After we were told that we could go back to the hotel, we loaded onto the bus and left the arena.
Once we got to the hotel, I got a call from my manager.
"Hey, Mel, what's up?" I spoke as I stopped walking.
"Bart just called me, he said that you were all clear to go on tour with Magcon!" She said excitedly. I don't blame her, this is good publicity.
"That's great! Is that all?"
"Yeah, just wanted to tell you that you'll be going straight to touring tomorrow, then heading back to London for your show, and then back to touring again. You have a busy schedule now, Pay," she said.
"I know, but I can handle it. Thanks again," I smiled, even though she couldn't see me, and hung up the phone.
"What was that about?" Kaden asked, catching up to my now speedy pace into the lobby.
"My manager just called, I'm all cleared to go on tour tomorrow!" I exclaimed.
"That's great!" Kaden said smiling, then kissing my lips lightly. Just then Sean walked through us.
"Nope," he smirked as he made his way towards the elevators. We laughed it off, and walked towards the elevators too. Me, Kaden, Sean, Matt, and Brooklyn got into an elevator, and I shuddered at the memory of what happened last time.
"Ugh, this gives me the chills," I laughed.
"Same, I used the stairs once to avoid it, and after getting up about halfway, I realized that there was no going back, so I just sort of sat there on the 22nd floor for a few hours." Brooklyn joked.
"Oh yeah, you guys were stuck in an elevator," Sean and Matt started cracking up. Guess word spreads fast doesn't it, "don't go anywhere with Payton, she's bad luck x10. She trips up the stairs you know," they laughed even harder at the thought.
"That's where those bruises come from! Oh my gosh I've been trying to figure that out for ages!" I said in amazement. My mysterious shin bruises case has been solved by the world's biggest idiot whom I call my brother.
The elevator doors opened, and the guys started walking out towards their rooms, when Kaden pulled me aside so no one could hear our conversation.
"Why didn't you mention that you were stuck in the elevator with Brooklyn?" He asked, jaw clenching.
"I didn't think it was a big deal? We had a 3 word conversation about if we had our phones on us or not to call for help.. I'm still pissed at him," I said, rolling my eyes. I left out the part about the blackmailing. I still don't know what's going on, and I surely don't wanna explain.
"3 words can be a lot Payton.. I love you, I miss you.." he pointed out.
"Kaden nothing happened! I'm with you, remember?! You're overreacting..." I reminded him of how ridiculous he was being.
"I'm overreacting? For all I know you could've been making out with him for the whole time you were in there, and no one would've known. I have to at least know about it, and the fact that you didn't tell me about it makes it seem like you're hiding something," he said, a little bit angered, but more disappointed.
"Do you not trust me?" I asked, hurt that he would even assume something like that. He started to say something, but stopped himself. "Got it," I scoffed, walking off towards one of the guy's rooms down the hall, where everyone was hanging out.
Yeah, I did get it. In his hesitation, I found my answer.
