Chapter 18

'I'm not telling you that it's going to be easy. I'm telling you that it's going to worth it.'

"So what happened that night?" Kit asked Beam as they were making their way to the cafeteria. Phana wasn't paying attention because he was busy with his phone flirting with his cute boyfriend.

"Nothing much." Said Beam who shrugged.

"What a controversial answer." Kit rolled his eyes. "Spit it out already, what are you boyfriends now?"

"I guess."

"You don't seem happy though."

"I am." Beam nodded but Kit didn't seem convinced.

"Did i ever tell you that you suck at lying?!" He quipped.

"I am happy Ai'Kit. Trust me. It's just, i - i don't know until when."

Kit sighed while he patted Beam's back. He didn't say anything further. He knows how hard it is for Beam to stay happy about anything. This relationship of Beam and Forth will be a bit bumpy, especially with Beam's current emotional state.

Phana glanced at his best friends before sending a LINE message to someone.

"The usual place. Later."

Exams are just a week away and everyone from every faculty are at their state where they prefer to sacrifice partying and sleep to study until dawn, but not for Phana and Forth, these two are geniuses.

They met at the pub where they always have drinking session but this time its just the two of them. Phana didn't bring Kit with him since Kit was with Ming and they were both 'studying'. He didn't bring Wayo since the little guy needed the time to study. Forth left Beam in his room for a bit after they had dinner, he didn't tell him the reason why he was going out for a while.

"How are you and Beam?" Phana asked after their liquor was on the table.

"You ask like we hadn't seen each other for a while. It's only been two days Ai'Pha."

"I know. I just hope you know what you're getting yourself into."

"I'm preparing myself for that Pha. Getting over things like that takes time. I know why you're worried. But trust me on this. I've never been sure of anything my entire life before your friend came along."

Pha nodded. "Fine then. I've known you for a while now. I know you're a good person. But if you ever do something, you know what will happen. Right?"

Forth smirked. "Yeah. I wouldn't want that. Don't worry Ai'Pha."

Then they clanked their bottles together as a sign of agreement. They stayed there for a while to finish the six bottles of beer served to them. They were fine after that since they both have high tolerance to alcoholic beverages.

Forth decided to go back to Beam's room since he told him he would be back later. The door was locked when he tried to open it. He thought Beam was already asleep so he turned around to go back to his apartment but the door suddenly opened and Beam peeked out with droopy eyes. He must have woken him when he wiggled the door knob.

"Where are you going?" Asked Beam who sounded tired and sleepy.

"Oh. I thought you were asleep so i didn't want to disturb you."

"Idiot. I was waiting for you because you said you would be back. I drifted to sleep while reading my lecture notes. Where did you go?" He stepped aside to let Forth enter.

They were officially dating just two days ago. But since Beam was used to Forth's presence before, he was quite at ease with him so like this time, he is comfortable with Forth spending the night with him, like how he slept in his room yesterday.

"Me and Ai'Pha talked about -"

"About me."

"Uh - yeah but -

"It's okay. He's just being a friend. Maybe he warned you, like how i did yesterday?"

"....."

"It's okay Ai'Forth." Beam turned to him with a faint smile. "He's always been like that. Even Ai'Kit. They're like my parents."

Forth walked towards Beam and hold him on his shoulders.

"I get them. And don't worry i am not intimidated by their actions. I'm happy that you have friends like them."

Forth kissed his forehead. He knew that this isn't going to be the last time they are going to talk about this or anything related. He is preparing himself for anything that might happen.

It has been some days after Pha and Forth had talked about Beam. They were back to their ordinary days where Forth would pick up Beam from their faculty everyday after classes has ended. So was the two other couples.

Forth still teases Beam almost everyday to where he always responds with death glares and a smack on the arm or head or wherever his arm lands.

Forth always stays with Beam in his room everyday. He goes to his apartment only to change or get extra clothes. All his study materials are at Beam's apartment.

Even when exam week is just days away, the insane doctor's gang still had extended lab works. At this time, their boyfriends didn't wait for them outside but instead, they waited at their apartments.

Forth was with Ming in Beam's apartment because this junior of his was asking questions about their lecture and like Forth, he was waiting for Kit to come home.

After about half an hour into their studying, Beam came home looking like a zombie and Ming bid his goodbye because he was sure his grumpy Kitkat was the same on the other room.

"Bee, you hungry? Do you want me to get you food outside?" Forth asked after he closed to door to Ming.

Beam plopped face down on the bed. "No, we ate while we were taking notes. I'm so fucking tired i need to sleep for a week! 😦" He whined.

"I'll go prepare your warm bath so you can rest properly after. Don't fall asleep yet."

"But i still have to studyyyyy!!" He whined. Beam really looked tired. Becoming a doctor takes up all a student's energy.

"Okay, but take a bath first."

"Nooo." Beam yawned while answering.

When he came back from preparing Beam's bath, he shook his head slightly as he saw that Beam didn't move an inch from how he left him just a moment ago. He was still awake and fiddling with his phone checking his social media.

"Beam, come on, get up."

"No."

"You won't be comfortable if you don't take a bath. Get up na."

"No."

"Na..na..na.."

"But I'm tooooo tireddd!!" Beam whined wiggling his body on the bed. It was like Forth was convincing a pre schooler who refuses to take a bath or study or even do anything at all.

Sigh.

Then it's like a lightbulb lit up on top of his head. "Okay, i think i'll sleep now." He walked towards Beam and layed down on top of him.

"Oyy! What the fuck?! - Get off me!!" Beam wiggled like a worm as he tried to escape Forth's added weight.

Forth pretended to yawn as Beam kept wiggling but still fails.

"Why the hell are you on this spot? The other side is big enough for you so move over you stupid!!"

"But this is my spot." He has his eyes closed and was smiling as Beam was struggling to get away from under him.

"Your fat ass is squishing me move over you big buffalo!! Get off!" Beam was now trying to smack his head but couldn't reach well enough since he was lying on his tummy.

"I'll only get up if you also get up to take a shower. Deal?"

"I knew it!" Beam realized he was tricked.

"Deal?" Forth repeated.

"Ugh! Okay fine. Now get up!"

"Wait. Say I'm handsome first 😅"

"Isn't that a bit too much?!"

"Come on." He won't stop grinning.

"No way!"

Forth closed his eyes and pretends to snore.

"What the fuuuuck! Okay fine! You're so damn handsome!! Happy now?"

He placed a kiss on the whining guy from u der him before got up and looked at Beam with a smug face. Beam smacked his thigh the moment he got up and stomped towards the shower but before he could reach, he picked up a pillow on the couch and threw at forth which hit him square in the face.

"Dumbass." He mumbled as he stomped towards the shower.

Triumph was written all over Forth's grinning face as he rubbed the part of his thigh that his grumpy boyfriend had smacked and even left a red mark that resembled his palm.
