Chapter 6

After Ming and Wayo left his room. He didn't know what to do now. He always have his friends with him every Saturday ever since the living nightmare all began. He was starting to get depressed again and he wanted his friends with him now but he can't contact them and be needy and clingy for he don't want to worry them now. And besides, they have their own lives to live. He can't hinder them just because he hates the world.

He sat on the floor with his back leaning on the bed. His knees are up to his chest and he put his arms around them. He was at it again. Remembering that day that he regrets the most. The worst part of being lied to is coming to realize that every memory you have as a child was a stupid lie.

Flashback:

"Beam honey, do you want to spend the day with me ? I heard that you got accepted at the uni as Med student. I'm so proud of you sweetie."

".........."

"Beam? Baby?"

He looked up from his book clearly annoyed of the person standing at his door. "Why do you even care? Why now?"

"Honey, i just want you to know that I'm proud of you." The person standing by the door calmly said.

"Alright. I get it. Please leave me alone now."

"Don't you want to be with me now? Let's go to the theme park. I know you're a big boy now but i just missed when we would go -- " Beam cut her off.

"Can you stop pretending like you even care?! Please. Its really annoying. I just want to be alone. Go away."

She stepped out of the room and closed the door. She looked hurt but Beam didn't care.He just wants her out of his sight.

Spouting your stupid lies again. I know better now. Beam thought.

End of Flashback

He didn't realize that he was tearing up now. Remembering things when you're not supposed to.

Then there's that knock on the door again. He wondered if it's Mingkwan and Wayo again but even if they decide to come back, its still too soon.

Who the hell is this now??

Then he thought since the door is locked he would just pretend he's not home.

The knocking will stop if i pretend im not here.

"Ai'Beam. I know you're in there. Please open up." Said someone who knocked a moment ago.

Why is he here? Ugh. What does he want now?! Wait. How did he know I'm here?! .. Wait. Maybe.. Maybe he's just playing a trick on me saying he knows I'm here. No. I won't open.

The knocking and calling went on for about a minute. Then it stopped.

Good! He stopped. He sighed in relief. No one will disturb him now.

He leaned in his head to his knees which were wrapped by his arms. Next thing he knew, the muffled voice outside was so clear it almost sound as if the person talking was inside now. Well, he was.

"Ai'Beam? Are you alright?" A worried voice asked.

"What the .. How the hell did you get in here?!" He scoffed as he looked up to the person who walked in unannounced.

"Whoa. Calm down. I didn't break your door. I opened with my spare key. Relax."

"Spare key?! .. " He's not relaxing now. "What spare key?! I don't just give people spare keys!!" He stood up and started pacing back and forth.

"Ai'Pha lent me his spare." Forth calmly explained.

"He did what?! Why that stupid idiot .." He was exasperated.

"Ai'Beam. Please calm down."

He took a deep breath. Perhaps he has come to senses that he was over reacting in front of Forth.

"So why are you here?!"

Forth beamed at him (pun intended 😂)

"I just want to see you Ai'Beam."

"Why?!" He narrowed his eyes.

"Cause i wanted to see you. And i miss you."

Fuck. Wrong question. Idiot.

"Whatever." He rolled his eyes and pretended that his heart didn't skip a beat.

Forth placed the food he brought for Beam on the table in his mini kitchen. He was puzzled upon seeing so much food on his table.

"You don't seem healthy enough for a person who eats this much."

"I'm not eating all of that. I already ate. And if you're planning on making me eat before you leave. Don't bother. You can go now. Also, leave the spare key behind." He said as he crossed his arms to his chest.

Forth smirked. "Who says I'm leaving?"

"Then what do you plan to do here?"

"Let's watch a movie." Forth's smile was unwavering.

"I don't go out on Saturdays." He said matter of factly.

"Who said we're going out? Let's just stay here. I brought my laptop. There's a movie i recently downloaded but i want someone to watch it with me."

Beam breathed out a sigh. Why are engineering students so damn persistent?! AND don't they get pissed?! Is that a course they take?! Geez.

He rolled his eyes before answering. "Alright then. Whatever."

Forth grinned at him again.

"Okay. Oh wait hold on. Let me just get us some drink and snacks." Forth hovered around the room like it was his. "Oh. We don't have to worry about dinner. There's enough food here even until tomorrow's breakfast. Whoa. Someone wants you fat. Hahaha" Beam just stared at him with a raised eyebrow. Huh. He plans to stay until dinner. What a crasher.

Before he knows it. Forth was already on his bed leaning his back on the headboard and was looking up to him and smiling.

That stupid smile never seem to leave his stupid face.

Forth then scooted to the edge of the bed and patted the space in the middle while still smiling at him.

"Well? Come sit here. Let's start."

In everything that Forth did and said. He was always smiling at Beam.

Beam then shyly sat on the bed next to Forth. They started watching a funny movie.

In the course of watching the movie. Forth would feed Beam the snacks and he would unconsciously open his mouth. Perhaps he was so engrossed in the movie that he forgot what the other guy was doing and Forth would smile everytime he would eat what he put in his mouth.

The movie was not funny althrough out. The sad part was at the near end. Beam became silent and Forth didn't dare to look at him in fear of being thrown out of the room if he saw Beam carried away with the scene.

Without taking his eyes off the screen .. "Here Beam. Drink this." He gave him the bottle but the other guy wasn't taking it. "Beam."

Just then, Beams head was leaning on his shoulder. He was quite taken aback by Beams actions but didn't dare to say anything. He waited until the movie has ended before he looked at Beam expecting that he would lift his head and be sassy again, but of course that didn't happen. Beam was already sleeping soundly on his shoulder.

The sight of Beams cute as a button nose and his eyelashes nearly brushing his pink cheeks made him smile unconsciously. His eyes then landed on his pink lips. His heart was in a riot once again.

He gave himself time to take in all the sight in front of him and also took time to brush off the urge to kiss the sleeping guy senseless. He then closed his laptop and placed it on the nightstand. Slowly, he lift Beam's head with his free hand and put his other arm around Beam. The petite guy snuggled close to his chest and he slided their backs to lay properly on the bed. Beam's head was on his chest. God I hope my thundering heart doesn't wake him up.

He layed there closely observing Beam's sleeping figure. He was sleeping peacefully in his embrace. Half of Beam's body was already on top of him. He didn't move. He was aware of the cramps that he'd feel later on but Beam was comfortable. He stroked Beam's hair which he thinks smells heavenly until he too dozed off.

The moment Beam opened his eyes, his eyes saw the jawline of a tanned person. His eyes widened as he realize it was Forth and his face was in the crook of his neck. And Forth's arms were around him. The guy was sleeping soundly.

Holy shit Beam!! What are you doing?! Are you this easy?! Wait. What? Wtf no!

He tried to slowly wiggle out of Forth's embrace without waking him up. It was no use. Forth tightened his embrace which made Beam more comfortable. He figured its no use to be choosy now. Besides, he was still sleepy. He closed his eyes and then dozed off again. Another peaceful sleep for the person who needs it the most.

Beam stirred awake when he felt his tummy crying for food. He opened his eyes and he was no longer in Forth's warm embrace. The said guy was in his mini kitchen heating the food brought by Ming, Yo and him earlier in the day. Forth doesn't seem to notice that he's awake now. He took his time watching Forth do such mundane things and still look so damn attractive. This bastard looks adorable even when doing dishes. So fucking annoying.

Forth must have felt his stare for he turned to him with a wide but warm smile plastered on his face.

"Slept well Ai'Beam?!"

"Hmm." Beam hummed in agreement. He must try his best not to be swayed by the warm smile that's always plastered on Forth's face. He must always keep a straight face.

"I know you're hungry. Do you want to eat here on the table or do you want me to bring you food there on the bed?"

"You think i'm sick or something? Of course i'll eat on the table."

"Alright then. Sit here. I'll serve the food."

"Why did you do the dishes? I could have done that myself."

"Well, i can't stand seeing dirty plates on the sink so i did it." Forth said he served the food and sat opposite to Beam. They started to eat in peace.

"So how was your sleep?" Forth looked at him waiting for his answer.

"It was fine" Beam answered before he ate his last spoonful.

"Hmm" Forth nodded and tried not to smile but Beam still saw it.

"What are you smiling at? 😑"

"Nothing. Just happy." Forth won't stop staring and smiling at him.

"Yea. Happy for taking advantage of a sleeping person. Tss. Way to go." He said in almost a whisper but Forth still heard him. He was talking about the cuddles a while ago.

The guy threw his head back laughing hard for Beam's accusations.

That laugh is so annoying it makes my heart want to explode.

"Stop laughing. Nothing is funny."

"Ai'Beam. Last time i checked i wasn't the one who stuck his face on who's neck and put half of his body on top of the other."

Beam instantly blushed and turned his face away to Forth.

"Hey!! Don't make up stories like that!!"

It's your fault for being too damn comfortable to sleep on you dumb idiot.

"Hahaha. Ai'Beam it's okay. Don't be shy about it." Forth craned his neck so he can see Beam's red cheeks.

"I can't talk to you. Don't look at me!"

He quickly stood up and ran to the bathroom to hide and wash his face because he's sure he was red all over.

After he got out of the bathroom, he saw Forth sitting on his couch reading a book he's never seen before. Perhaps it was Forth's.

Huh. It's already dark and he's still not leaving. How long does he plan to stay? We've already had dinner. So why isn't he leaving yet? Wait! Is he planning to spend the night here? Ugh. What a shameless dork.

"Beam? Is there something wrong? Why are you staring at me?"

Beam didn't realize he was staring at Forth while he was lost in thought.

"What?! No! I.. I wasn't staring at you! Don't be too full of yourself Ai'Forth!" He stomped off to his bed and took out his notes.

"Okay Ai'Beam. Whatever you say." Forth can't stop smiling at Beam's little accusations.

Both of them minded their own business. Forth was reading his book and Beam was playing on his phone after he got bored of reading his lecture notes. None of them talked and it was a comfortable silence.

Forth's presence that day made Beam feel less alone. He was grateful to Forth for being there for him even though he won't admit to his face.

"Ai'Forth."

"Yes Ai'Beam? Do you need anything?"

"Uh no. I just wanted to ask something." Beam can't look at him straight.

"What is it?"

"Why did you go here? I mean. It's a Saturday. You should be out somewhere having fun."

"Well, i'm here with you so technically i am outside my apartment. And Beam, i am having fun."

"Oh."

"By the way, thanks for not throwing me outside. Hehe"

"You just got lucky. It's Ai'Pha who won't get lucky on Monday. That dumbass."
