Chapter Four

03:04, 3 February 2013

It was 10:30 when I heard the rooms phone ring, it was the wake up call. I slowly got up, not wanting to go to my first activity. Group therapy with Candy. She's one of the two therapists I have here, I have privet sessions with Lorrie. She's more tolerable then Candy, mainly because she was older and more wise.

I tug on a pair of jeans and pull my sweatshirt over my head before sliding on my old converse. I looked at the clock and saw that I still had a good half hour till group started, so I decided to put on my makeup. Normally I would only wear some foundation, but I decided to add a bit more. I didn't want Niall to think I always looked terrible.

Wait, why do I even care?

Before I could take a second thought, I looked to my phone clock to see what time it was. Grabbing my phone and earbuds, I emerged from my room and made my way to the meeting room. No sign of Niall anywhere. I'd be lying if I said I was glad he was nowhere to be seen.

I open the door to the large room and am quickly greeted by Candy's obnoxious smile. "Hey Andi! How are you feeling this morning?"

"Hormonal, please move," I say as I try to side step out of the way and over to my seat.

She moved with me, and leaned in real close to my face, "Look, I'm just trying to do my job, and your not making it easy for me. You need to talk out all this anger, weather you like it or not. Now, we can do this the easy way or the hard way, you choose," she whispered so nobody else could hear her threat.

"You don't scare me," I mumbled as I forcefully push past her and over to my seat. In the back corner, I notice that Niall was already seated back there. He must have remembered where I sat from seeing me in here yesterday. I sit down on the chair to the right of him, "Didn't know you had group."

He nodded his head, "Didn't know you and Candy had issues." I looked to him and scoffed, letting him know we had more then "issues". He was wearing the same sneakers as yesterday, but with tan kaki shorts and a loose fitting t-shirt. His blonde hair was slightly messed up, which was kinda nice looking.

Noticing I was checking him out, Niall let out a tiny laugh, but then let it die down when Candy clapped to get our attention. "Okay! How is everybody this morning? Like I said yesterday, today we will be discussing our triggers, or things that upset us. So, who would like to go first?"

Nobody said anything. It was like everyone in this group was a mute. Candy's eyes drifted around the room looking for a target, before resting her gaze on me with an strange smile. "Andi. How's about you share first?"

That bitch. "I'm fine not sharing for now. Thanks," I say sarcastically.

She stared to walk to me, "Why not? Don't you wanna get better?"

"Why don't you share your story, if your so dead set on somebody talking?"

That struck a nerve in her. She tilted her head to the side as she walked closer to me. Everybody's eyes where on us, even Niall's. "Why don't you talk about how you have scars all over your body Andi?"

My mouth became dry, she must have read my file. People's eyes were wide and mouths open. "You can't out me like that," I whispered as to not let myself cry.

"I can if its to help a patient in need," Candy said, "And your clearly need the help, why don't you show the group your legs and stomach?"

I had enough. Jumping up and knocking over the chair in the process (which caused half the teens in the room to jump), I closed the space between me and her, "Why don't you tell the group about your fucking daddy issues!" I shout at her. "About how he left you and your mom because your nothing!!"

She looked like she was about to cry, but she stood her ground, "Somebody call an assistant to get her out of here."

"I read your file too, I CAN FUCKING READ TOO!!" I screamed at her as I cried, not caring who saw. I wasn't done yet, but I felt a strong arm pull me to the door. I turned to see it was an expressionless Niall. I struggled to get out of his grip, "Let go of me! I SAID LET GO!"

Fighting against him was no use, as he easily lifted me up in his arms and carried me out of the room and into the hall. The last thing I saw was a tear stained, but smirking Candy.

Still crying and fighting Niall, we enter the empty mess hall. Finally, he sets me back on my feet and goes in for a hug. Instantly, I push him as hard as I can back. "WHAT THE HELL?! DON'T EVER TOUCH ME!"

He looked hurt, but not as hurt as I was. He folded his arms, which he seemed to be doing a lot, "I was trying to help you, and to keep you from getting in trouble with Candy!"

I let out a sob and covered my face with my hands. Wiping away the dripping mascara, I sniff and clear my throat. "I don't need you to look after me like a child," I say with a shaky voice. And with that, I ran away from Niall, from Candy, and from the impending trouble I was going to be in.

Desperately opening the door to my room, I slam the door shut and fling myself onto the bed. Tonight, I was going to be one of the crying teenagers I heard every night.
