Sorry for the long wait and short chapter:( To be completely honest I've lost almost all interest in Fairy Tail, but I do intend to finish this story (or at least the first part of it, aka the Laxus arc- then there will be another arc, the (y/n) arc involving your backstory and all that). Also, I think I'm going to not use as many gifs in this story (there'll still be a couple though!), hope y'all don't mind! Thank you all so much for your patience and endless support for this story!! I'm so grateful for each and every one of you, and your kind comments never fail to make me smile. Without further ado, here is chapter 28!

-Kimmie

(Y/N)

"Thanks to Porlyusica's help, the master's going to pull through just fine! So don't worry, he'll be back work in no time." Erza exclaimed with a grin. Everyone cheered and hugged one another.

It was the day after the Battle of Fairy Tail and Natsu had managed to defeat Laxus (or rather have a draw with him, considering his injuries), however not without the help of Gajeel pretty much using himself as a lightning rod to save Natsu's ass from being turned to ash.

"Thank goodness! I gotta admit, I was getting a little worried." Lucy turned to Gray.

"Ah, come on it'll take more than that to make Gramps kick the bucket." Gray smirked.

"Well, he isn't as young as he used to be," Erza retorted. "So any added stress to his heart can significantly affect his health. Let's be on our best behavior, okay?"

"Aye sir!" The chorus of voices of the guild rang out.

"I don't know if it's such a good idea to do the Fantasia parade after everything that's happened." Lucy wondered aloud.

"But the master wants us to do it! Besides it's the perfect way to cheer everyone up after that big mess." Mirajane chimed.

"I can't wait to see what you all have in store for the parade!" Juvia grinned.

"Well you're gonna be in it with us, little lady!" I winked at her. "You're a member right?"

"Well yeah I am, but I'm so new I didn't think I'd be in the parade..." Juvia looked down bashfully dragging her pointer finger along the wooden table.

"Aw, isn't she the cutest!" A drunk Cana chimed taking another chug out of her beer mug.

"Does that mean I'm gonna be in it too?" Lucy turned to me with big excited eyes.

"Of course! We need everyone we can get!" I grinned back at her.

"Especially since we're not gonna be able to use those two." Gray added, gesturing towards Natsu and Gajeel who looked like mummies with all the bandages they were wrapped in. The two began arguing with one another, though due to the bandages covering Natsu's mouth his words sounded more like grunts and muffled sounds. Somehow Gajeel could still understand them, though, and continued to fight him.

I walked over to Erza. "What's got you looking so happy?" I questioned jokingly.

"It's just good to see everyone getting along again, especially after we were forced to fight against one another." Erza explained while watching our jovial guild mates.

I let out a 'hm' in response and nodded, looking down as I was reminded of the damage Laxus had caused.

Laxus... I still couldn't quite process how he had the audacity and the maliciousness in him to do what he did to us, to me.

Suddenly, the murmur and laughter in the guild had dissipated and a new eerie tense air surrounded the room. I glanced up to see what everyone was reacting to, and my eyes landed upon a silhouette at the entrance.

No... why is he here?

"Laxus?! What do you want?" Macao growled.

"Where's the old man?" Laxus deadpanned.

"Why would we tell you?!"

"You think you can just waltz in here and demand to see the master?!"

The guild began yelling and surrounding Laxus, telling him to leave.

"Quiet everyone!" Erza's authoritative voice demanded after a couple seconds as she took a couple steps forward. "The master's in the infirmary."

"Are you nuts? Why'd you tell him?!" Wakaba stared at Erza but her intimidating glare silenced him.

Silently, Laxus walked past Erza but he stopped dead in his tracks once his eyes landed on me. "(Y/n)..." He whispered. I stared right back at him emotionlessly, not letting any of my feelings surface.

"(Y/n), I-" He began, but I simply walked right past him without saying a word. His breath hitched and I heard him begin following me. The only sound I could hear were his footsteps and the sound of my own rapid heartbeat. Other than that, you could hear a pin drop due to how silent the other members were. I felt every one of their gazes on Laxus and I.

"W-Wait (y/n), please just listen! I-" He stopped, noticing that I was not reacting at all to what he said, still just walking towards the guild entrance void of emotion.

I felt his hand wrap around my wrist and pull me to a stop, however I barely acknowledged him and kept staring at the splintering wood of the guild door.

"(Y/n), I love you."

As those three cursed words left his lips I reacted. I whipped around with fury in my eyes and raised my hand, slapping him across the face. The sound of my hand against his cheek resonated throughout the guildhall and there was a small gasp from the guild.

Laxus looked up at me with a reddening cheek and hurt clear in his eyes. I didn't let my fury ease due to his hurt expression, however, as all the anger I had stuffed down finally spilt out.

"Don't you dare touch me. And don't you dare say those words. You don't get to say those words after what you did. You don't get to say the words after the pain you've caused not only me, but this entire guild. Our fucking family. That's where I draw the line. Hurt me all you want, I don't care, I can take it. But once you hurt my family, you're done. I forgave you once; I gave you a second chance. I made a mistake." I spat, leaning closer to his face so his wide eyes swimming with regret were right in front of mine filled with wrath. "I don't love you anymore, Laxus. Not after what you did. I can't love you after what you did." At that I ripped my wrist out of his hand, ignoring the sparks I felt when his skin was in contact with mine. I turned around on my heel and continued walking towards the entrance, feeling Laxus' and everyone else's eyes on me as I left.

But the sad part was that I knew I was lying, no matter what Laxus did I would always love him. And that's what tore me apart inside and made me despise myself.
