(Y/N)

The wind tangled my hair as I waited for Laxus outside the Magnolia Train Station. We were travelling to our mission today just outside of Clover Town. I looked back down at the job request and read it over once again. It asked for powerful mages to protect a small village and capture a dark mage that has been harassing and kidnapping residents from a small village near Clover Town.

"Ready, princess?" A voice came from behind me. I turned around to be face to face with Laxus' cocky smirk.

"Took you long enough, you're late." I crossed my arms and walked onto the train with Laxus following me. I took a seat and Laxus sat across from me.

After a couple minutes of us sitting in silence with him staring at me I turned and glared at him. "What are you staring at?" I snapped, slightly annoyed.

I expected him to reply in his typical arrogant jerk tone but he simply stated, "You look older."

I was taken aback and paused for a moment before I replied. "Well, I mean we haven't had a conversation since we were teenagers so of course I look older." I murmured.

We both stayed silent after that, replaying our last conversation, our fight after Ivan got excommunicated, in our heads.

"Where are we even headed?" Laxus asked stoically after a couple minutes of silence.

"A small village outside of Clover Town. Some dark mage has been harassing the village and kidnapping citizens. So we're taking the train to Clover Town then walking to the village." I explained. Laxus grunted in reply and that was the end of the conversation.

We arrived in Clover Town after a painfully uncomfortable three-hour train ride. I stared out the window or read a book most of the time and Laxus just watched me out of the corner of his eye. I gave up on calling him out for staring so I just pretended not to notice after a while.

We decided to get something to eat in Clover Town before travelling to the remote fishing village the mission was located at. After we ate and were walking through the streets of Clover Town towards the forest Jason from Sorcerer Weekly stopped us suddenly.

Oh, great. I thought to myself, though I put on a fake smile for him; it was sorta my thing to always be the smiling 'ray of sunshine' of Fairy Tail, though it pained me to hear that nickname since it was Laxus who originally started calling me it.

"OHMYGOSH are you Laxus and (y/n) from Fairy Tail?!" He screeched, running over to us and already taking pictures.

"Hi, Jason!" I smiled sweetly and waved. "How are you?"

"Wow I can't believe you're actually talking to me! How COOOOL!"

I sweat-dropped and looked at him questionably "Er, Jason we've talked before, you've done interviews and photo-shoots with me."

"COOL!! What are you guys doing here?" He questioned. I looked up at Laxus, who looked very impatient and irritated.

"Well- AH!" I started to talk but was interrupted by Laxus picking me up and throwing me over his shoulder like a sack of potatoes.

I looked up and saw Jason taking photos of us while, as usual, shrieking "Cool!", I smiled at him and waved, even though I was extremely aggravated at Laxus carrying me away.

I continued to grin and wave goodbye at Jason, but through gritted teeth I threatened Laxus, "I swear to God if you do not put me down Laxus I will slit your throat."

Once we were out of sight from Jason Laxus put me down and continued walking as if nothing happened.

"What the hell was that for?!" I snapped.

"We have a job to get to." He said, back in his jerk tone.

"Okay but that was totally uncalled for you can't just carry me to get your way!" I growled.

"You were taking too long talking to that moron, princess." He smirked, knowing he was frustrating me.

"Stop calling me that, you ass! Jason's annoying but ever heard of something called manners? Maybe you should try to be polite once in your life maybe you wouldn't be so much of a loner!" I snarled.

"Being nice doesn't get you anywhere, sweetheart. Nice guys finish last." He spat.

I scoffed and rolled my eyes. "God, you're even more of a jerk now than when we were teenagers."

He growled and started to yell a response but then we heard a quiet laughter. We both perked up and look around, instinctively going back to back with one another.

A man with blonde hair came out from the sea of trees with his hands in his pockets and a cocky smirk on his face. He was wearing black jeans, black shoes, a white button up shirt, and a black bomber jacket.

He wasn't muscular or anything like Laxus, he was even a bit lanky, but I could sense the immense power coming from him. His piercing red eyes seemed to be able to read my soul.

"Sorry to interrupt, I just couldn't help myself. Watching you two mongrels fight was so entertaining." He snickered.

"Who are you?" I demanded, my purple aura surrounding me. I heard Laxus' lightning crackling next to me.

"Like you mongrels deserve to know." He looked down on me. "But, I suppose you can call me your King. My name is Gilgamesh."

"You better keep moving if you know what's best for you." Laxus growled intimidatingly.

Gilgamesh's red eyes narrowed. "And you really shouldn't be threatening the King of Kings." A few small gold magic circles appeared near Gilgamesh and weapons started appearing from them. I guess it was a form of Requip Magic. In response my purple magic circles appeared, ready to shoot if needed.

"Now now Gilgamesh, let's not be hasty." A seductive female voice came from behind me. I whipped around while Laxus kept his eyes on Gilgamesh.

A woman with long black hair tied in a loose side ponytail walked towards me. She was wearing a revealing bodysuit with cutouts on her stomach and thigh. She wore red wedges and long black gloves that showed off her long nails, almost claws. She had red eyes, just like Gilgamesh.

She carried a long curved blade that shined in the sunlight. "We wouldn't want to exterminate the prey just yet, now would we? I think it'd be fun to play with them first."

My eyes followed the two as they circled Laxus and I.

"Oh, I should be polite. My name is Ophelia Rose." Ophelia grinned maliciously at Laxus and I. She looked at this as if she was awaiting a response. "Hm, nothing to say? You're not going to introduce yourselves?"

"Idiotic mongrels. Don't you know you're in the presence of a King?" Gilgamesh said condescendingly.

"I didn't think it was possible to meet anyone more arrogant than Laxus, but I believe you've made the cut, Gilgamesh." I laughed.

"That's King to you!" Gilgamesh snarled as a sword appeared from one of his magic circles. He grabbed it and menacingly sauntered towards us. At the same time Ophelia ran towards me, blade in hand. She was fast, but I blocked her sword with my forearm, utilizing a small cosmic barrier as a shield. I pushed and she slid back a meter or two. "Hm." She wondered aloud.

I heard Laxus and Gilgamesh fighting behind me but I couldn't take my eyes off Ophelia. Please, be safe Laxus.

Ophelia and I engaged in hand-to-hand combat for a while, practically teleporting all over, with Ophelia's supernatural speed and my Territory Magic. We were evenly matched however, so I decided to take it to the next level. I teleported onto the top branch of a tall tree and Ophelia joined me. We continued to fight and I pushed her off the top of the branch. Her eyes widened as she fell and before she could use her speed- which I had figured out was possible because she utilized Shadow Magic and was able to travel through shadows- to save herself a golden bow materialized in my hands. I aimed the bow at her and a shining golden arrow formed as well. I fired the arrow and after a second of delay after I shot it, a potent golden beam trailed it and hit her dead on. "Cosmic Arrow." I whispered the name of the spell. "Bulls-eye." I smirked.

I teleported from the branch to the ground, next to Laxus. Ophelia was laying on the ground next to Gilgamesh who was looking down at her in disgust. She grunted in pain as she attempted to stand. "You're just as weak as these mongrels." Gilgamesh hissed at her. Though Gilgamesh was just as beaten as her, he refused to show it. Laxus and I were bruised and bloody just like them, but not to their extent. It was clear who the winner of this battle was.

Gilgamesh harshly picked her up off the ground. "I wish I could pulverize you two disgusting creatures right now, but unfortunately my Lady would have my head if I let Ophelia face a complete defeat." Gilgamesh said 'Lady' with disgust. It was obvious he was so pompous that he cared for no one but himself, neither Ophelia nor his 'Lady'.

"We'll be back, and next time with our third member, you'll find him very interesting, (y/n)." Ophelia snickered weakly, yet maliciously. With that Gilgamesh jumped high into the tree branch and nimbly made his escape with Ophelia in his arms.

I furrowed my eyebrows and looked down at the ground. "I never told her my name." I murmured confusedly.
