Part 1
18:01, 25 May 2020We begin in Harry, Ron and Hermione's fifth year, and Ginny's fourth.
Though everyone had been dreading it, the final DA meeting had just ended. People had been enjoying his lessons so much, Harry's friends all expressed how upset they were to be leaving for the Christmas holidays. He, however, was thrilled for Christmas. For the first time he'd be spending the holidays with the Weasleys. With Sirius. With a family. Lost in thought about Christmas, Harry dreamily turned around and shut the door behind the last few people leaving, but someone sniffing behind him caused him to wake up from his fantasy. "Cho?"
With Ginny.
"Crap, Hermione. I forgot to ask Harry when the next meeting is. Can you ask him for me, when you see him?" Hermione smirked. "Harry's still in there... Alone... Why don't you ask him yourself?" Ginny rolled her eyes and handed Hermione the books she was holding. She turned around and broke into a jog, wondering about Harry. Specifically her feelings for him. She had been obsessed with him ever since she first saw him in person on platform nine and three quarters. Then, after he saved her from the Chamber of Secrets in her first year, she developed a crush on him from actually knowing him. She liked Harry. Not "The boy who lived." And now, ever since they started talking more, her crush had calmed down. Not that she wasn't still interested in Harry, it was just less obsessive. Ginny arrived in front of the door. She turned the knob it creaked softly as she entered. "Hey Harry, I was wondering-" She started, before she looked up and saw Harry's arms wrapped around Cho Chang. He quickly pulled away from the kiss and looked towards the door, but Ginny was already gone.
With Harry.
With a hasty goodbye to Cho, Harry sprinted out the door after Ginny. What the hell was that all about? He stopped outside the girl's lavatory as Hermione's bushy hair disappeared behind the door. Harry looked behind him nervously, then pressed his ear to the door. "Am I stupid Hermione? Am I an idiot?" Said Ginny. "No Ginny, you aren't." Hermione said. Her voice was considerably quieter, but comforting. "But I am, Hermione. I am an idiot. I may be the biggest idiot of the century. You know why? Because I thought that I had a chance with Harry Potter. Imagine that!" Ginny scoffed. Hermione didn't say anything. "And I'm so stupid, because it took me seeing Harry snogging bloody Cho Chang to realize that I was always just going to be Ron's stupid younger sister." Harry could hear Ginny pacing around the bathroom. "Ginny..." Hermione's voice was barely a whisper. "That's not how he sees you, and you know it." Ginny ignored her. "I really should stop waiting around for him." She wasn't shouting this time, though. She sounded tired. "Stupid Potter." Harry had to press his ear harder against the door to hear Ginny muttering. "I really thought..." She didn't finish her sentence. "Ginny." Hermione said, she sounded cautious. As if Ginny was a dragon, ready to attack if she said the wrong thing. "Dean Thomas asked you out last week... You said you'd think about it. Maybe you should go out with Dean. It would distract you from Harry, and there's no point wasting your love life waiting for him while he's snogging Cho." It was quiet for a moment. Ginny spoke again, her voice slightly uneven. "You're right, Hermione." Ginny sighed. "I'm sorry for shouting." Harry quickly backed away from the door when he heard the girls leaving. Ginny was walking fast in his direction and let out a sharp gasp, almost bumping into him. "Ginny..." He started, but she was already walking the other way.
