Jersey
04:08, 6 December 2017Leo POV
I awoke to find myself exactly as I fell asleep last night. I was curled up on Jason's chest, my head was buried in the crook of his neck, and his arms were looped tightly around my waist. I pulled my head back slightly so I could look up at his face, only to find him studying me as if I where a work of art in a museum. When I meet his eyes, I saw a faint pink blush appear on his cheeks, painting them a rosy tone. I returned his gaze none the less and took my time to study him like he was doing to me.
No matter how many times I admired his features, I always found something new that made me fall in love with him all over again. How he managed to do that I don't know and I don't think I ever want to find out. Jason's eyes were opened lazily and were clouded from sleep. His under-eye bags were decently smaller then they where a couple weeks ago, before we started this arrangement. I saw the lingering bruise on his jaw and his eye from training sometime last week, most likely with the Ares cabin. He never could walk away from a fight. The scar on his lip was more prominent then usually, but just as intriguing.
I reached up and brushed my thumb over the fading bruises, down his jawline, and finally over his scar. I felt him shiver slightly under my touch. His eyes didn't meet mine like they usually did, but instead, they lingered on my lips. I sighed slightly, my breath waving over his face and neck.
"We should get up," I mumbled.
"Or we could just stay like this all day," Jason retorted in a hushed tone.
"Jay," I sighed, and I tried to pull away from the blonde. His grip simply tightened around me. I stood no chance against his strength and I knew I wasn't going anywhere.
"Yeah, I think you'll stay right here Valdez," Jason mumbled as he buried his face into my hair. I decided that it wasn't worth arguing. Plus, Jason could use a lazy day. I knew he had been working late and long hours to finish up the last of the shines he needs to build. I admired his work ethic, but I wish he didn't push himself to the brink all the time. So, if he wanted a relaxing day, I wasn't going to argue with him.
We stayed like that all morning, but as noon rolled around I was starting to get pretty hungry. I shifted from my position so that I could get Jason's attention. Unfortunately, I ended up straddling Jason, but I certainly got his attention.
"Can we get lunch Jay, please," I said. I shot him my puppy dog eyes, just for extra measure. I watched him meet my eyes, and I swear I could see his resolve crumble. I watched as Jason Grace, the great son of Jupiter and Roman praetor, be defeated with a simple pair of puppy dog eyes. I wish I got a picture for my scrape book.
"Oh, don't look at me like that," Jason said. "Fine, I can't say no to you anyways." I chucked and slipped away from him and out of the bed. Jason followed close behind. We both got dressed and were heading out the door, when Jason grabbed my hand to stop me. My breath hitched in my throat like it did every time Jason touched me unexpectedly. My eyes gazed in shock at our hands, then they flickered up to meet Jason's eyes.
"It's chilly out there, you should at least wear a sweatshirt," Jason said in his usual worried tone. I chuckled at his concern and slipped away from him.
"I would, but I didn't bring anything," I explained.
"That's fine, you can borrow one of mine, I keep a couple with me at all times," Jason said. He went over to his bag and shuffled through it for a couple minutes. He handed me a purple hoodie with the Camp Jupiter logo on the front. I slide it on with out a second thought. I turned back to Jason to see him staring at me.
"Is something wrong?" I asked, suddenly self-conscious about the way Jason was looking at me.
"Nothing at all, it's just that sweatshirt suits you. You should keep it," he said. I blushed slightly and walked toward the door. As we exited Jason grabbed my hand again, I looked at him, expecting him to need to tell me something else, but he was looking straight head. He intertwined our fingers and kept walking. I rolled my eyes and chuckled slightly under my breath. I will never understand Jason.
Once we reached the center of the city, Jason lead me into a little café. He guided us over to a table with two girls sitting at it and as we got closer I realized that the two girls were Reyna and Piper. Jason dropped my hand before they could notice and we slid into the other two seats.
"And I guess we have company for lunch today," Piper said with a laugh.
"Oh, you know you love me Beauty Queen," I shot back.
"Yeah, don't remind me," Piper said rolling her eyes good naturedly.
"Hey Leo, be careful that's my girlfriend your talking to," Reyna said with a chuckle.
"Oh, I'm shaking in my tool belt," I replied sarcastically. The whole table broke out into a fit of laugher at that one. I missed everyone so much while I was gone, and this just reminded me how much. I felt Jason's hand rest on my thigh, just like it did during the car ride over here. He rubbed his thumb back and forth lightly, and I smiled lightly at the gesture, before jumping into the conversation that had started between my friends at the table.
"By the way Grace, good job claiming him," Reyna said with smirk.
"Yeah Jason," Piper agreed with a chuckle.
"I told him that it suited him," Jason relied with a smirk, while I looked around the table with confusion.
"Your hoodie," Piper explained as she noticed my confused facial expression. I took the hoodie off and studied the front again. Just the camp logo. I then flipped it over and blushed bright red. I'm sure any tomato would be jealous of the color of my face, neck, and ears. The back of the hoodie was in the style of a football jersey, with the numbers 01 and the last name Grace printed in capital gold letters across the back.
