Chapter 6: Your Success [ENDING 1]

Finally, you felt that sweet feeling of victory and relief in your veins. Dark Markery had been defeated. You were the one that defeated him. You couldn't believe it. All those attempts... they weren't for nothing.

    You heard the clatter of gears, distant but still within earshot. Turning around, you noticed the bars of the area that had imprisoned Purple — they were moving upwards, releasing the Marker inside.

    Once the prison was completely opened, Purple Marker rushed towards you excitedly. He instantly threw you into a hug, radiating intense relief as well. "Good job, Y/N," he said softly. "The evil Dark Markery has been defeated."

    Those last few words happily bounced around in your head for a while. You accepted his hug, rubbing the top of his cap in a playful manner. "You're welcome, man," you replied. "It's nothing much, really." That was a complete lie. This was an extremely big deal.

    "You know, I just realized — you beat him lickety-split!" Purple exclaimed, backing up and retracting the hug. "Here, take these two badges as a reward. You'll get a cool Halo, too, once we get back to the Mainland!"

    As soon as he said that, two badges spun in front of your vision. One was dark purple, with even darker undertones. It had some electric purple highlights on the ribbons, and a slight fiery aura shone around the edges. The second was colored a dull magenta, edges outlined in a powerful dark lilac. Speedrunner was engraved on the first; Dark Makery was inscribed on the second. After about 15 seconds, they disintegrated into golden sparkles, now in your possession.

    All your effort had now paid off. The struggling, the rage, the overload of concentration and focus — they weren't for nothing. You freed Purple, and got two badges plus a Halo in the process.

    "Goodbye now!" Purple proclaimed, waving happily. "I'll see you at Spawn!"

    You felt the little pieces of yourself flying off again — another teleportation sequence, you realized. The same thing was happening to Purple as well. Bright white began to engulf your vision...    Once it faded, you were back at Spawn. Finally, some bright colors... You chuckled, turning around to face the Pedestal. Purple was on it, like he always was prior to all of this. He met your gaze and smiled. He was emitting his usual cheery attitude, but you could sense an extra amount of sort thankfulness.

    Now that you were in the Mainland, you could check out the new Halo you got! Opening the settings of the game via GUI, you opened the Halos menu. You already had the Shop, Forest, Mountain, and Spawn Halos. Why not look for one more?

    Good thing you did, as you found a new Halo amidst your previously-owned ones: the Mayhem Halo. Equipping it, you found that it somewhat resembled the Dimension of Darkness — eight pillars formatted in a circle, some broken and other full; a fiery aura emitting from the columns connecting to the middle; periwinkle gems shining brightly ever so often; and vines with purple flowers wrapping around everything, holding it together. It radiated a sense of power and authority that... honestly scared you a bit. Still, wearing it filled you with a certain amount of pride and accomplishment. You got this Halo and those badges from 'speedrunning' Markery, something that you weren't even aiming to do.

    Thank Wild Card that's over... you thought. At least now everything's back to normal. My goal? Reached and completed.
