PART 39

18:13, 6 February 2026

As Yibo entered his office, he began smashing everything on his desk. His secretary glanced at Gu Wei with a questioning look, trying to understand what was happening. Gu Wei smiled at her. "Just let him be. Maybe he had a fight with his wife," he said before heading to his own office.

"I received the flowers, thank you. Hehe, your timing is perfect," Gu Wei said.

"The pleasure is mine. Really, what happened?"

"Your cousin is throwing a fit. Hehe, I have some things to do, so I have to go. Thank you again, i love you"

Meanwhile, Eros received a call. "What's the update on what I asked you to do?" he asked immediately.

"I've sent the results to your email," came the reply.

"Thank you," Yibo said, ending the call. He checked his email, frowning as he saw the results. "Why don't they match with A-Yuan? Was my intuition wrong?" he wondered to himself. His thoughts were interrupted by a knock on the door. "Come in," he said curtly, not even glancing at the mess on the floor. His secretary was shocked when she saw the state of the office.

"S-sir, here are the flowers and chocolates you asked for," the secretary stammered.

"Just leave them there and clean up my office," Yibo ordered before heading to his penthouse to freshen up. He then left his office carrying a bouquet of white roses and chocolates.

"Are those for his wife?" the secretary wondered aloud, then sent a message to Liying. "Ma'am, I think Mr. Wang bought you flowers and chocolates," she typed with a smile before continuing to tidy up Yibo's office.

Meanwhile, Eros left his office and headed to Gu Wei's office. He took a deep breath before knocking. Thinking it wasn't Eros at the door, Gu Wei, who was arranging flowers in a vase with his back turned, said, "Come in." Yibo raised an eyebrow as he saw Gu Wei smelling the flowers.

"You're here so soon..." Gu Wei started, but trailed off when he turned around and saw Yibo. Yibo noticed the disappointment on Gu Wei's face and felt a sudden pang in his heart, though he didn't show it.

"It's you," Gu Wei said flatly, turning his back again to continue what he was doing. "Do you need something?" Gu Wei asked, still with his back to Yibo. But instead of answering, Yibo asked, "Are you expecting someone?"

"Yes, my fiancé is coming to pick me up," Gu Wei replied. Eros raised an eyebrow but said nothing. When Gu Wei noticed that Yibo seemed to be waiting for him to say more, he continued, "To take me out." He smiled meaningfully when he saw Yibo's reaction.

Eros, seemingly unable to control himself, quickly approached Gu Wei. "I told you this isn't a place for flirting. And by the way, throw that flower away. It looks terrible," he said, grabbing the flower Gu Wei was holding and handing him the bouquet he had brought. Gu Wei looked at him, dumbfounded.

Eros threw the flower into the trash. "There, that's where that flower belongs. Now, let's put this one here," he said, taking the bouquet from Gu Wei and placing it in the vase. "Perfect, see" he said arrogantly, not giving Gu Wei a chance to speak.

"Why don't you just move into this office since you like making decisions? Did I say I wanted that there, and why did you throw away the flower my fiance gave me?" Gu Wei asked, regaining his composure. Yibo smirked, then took out his phone and called his secretary.

"You have 20 minutes. I want all my things moved to Gu Wei's office," Yibo ordered without waiting for a reply from the other end.

Meanwhile, Yibo's secretary stared blankly into space. "20 minutes? Move to Gu Wei's office? What's going on? Has my boss lost his mind?" she asked herself, but before she could drown in her thoughts, she began packing up Yibo's things, calling for help as well.

"Mr. Wang, what's your problem?" Gu Wei asked angrily.

"You told me to move here, so I'm moving," Yibo replied sarcastically. Gu Wei facepalmed and sat down at his desk. After sitting, he picked up his phone and called Liying.

When the call connected, Gu Wei didn't let Liying speak. "Liying," he called out, but it seemed like Eros didn't hear him as he continued arranging the flowers. "It seems your husband has too much time on his hands. He even bought me flowers," Gu Wei said, still watching Yibo.

Elsewhere, when Liying received the message from Yibo's secretary, she smiled and changed into a nicer outfit. Despite what Yibo had done to her the last time they met, she still believed that he had feelings for her and would come back to her. So she was thrilled when she got the message, but that happiness quickly turned to ashes when she heard what Gu Wei said on the other line. She didn't even think about how Gu Wei got her number.

"What did you say?" she asked angrily.

Meanwhile, Gu Wei smiled when he heard Liying's voice. He didn't reply, but instead, he took a picture of Yibo busily arranging the flowers he had given him and sent it to Liying. "Imagine that, a CEO working for me. I didn't know your husband was so kind to his employees he bought me flowers and is even arranging them," Gu Wei said mockingly, knowing that if Liying were close by, she would have probably pulled his hair or cursed him out.

"Alright, I'll help your husband out," Gu Wei said, not even waiting for Liying's reply.

I'm done," Yibo said happily.

"It seems like you don't care that I called your wife" Gu Wei remarked, looking at him.

"I'm going to file for divorce, and even if..." Yibo was interrupted by a knock on the door. Gu Wei walked over to open it, and a wide smile spread across his face.

"You're here," he said cheerfully, hugging Lay. Eros cleared his throat to get their attention.

"You have company," Lay remarked, but instead of Gu Wei, it was Yibo who responded.

"Yes, I replaced the flowers because the old ones looked terrible. These are much nicer," Yibo said proudly, causing Lay and Gu Wei to shake their heads in disbelief.

"Are we leaving now?" Gu Wei asked.

"Where do you think you're going? I still have something for you to do," Yibo said sternly. Gu Wei walked to his desk to grab his things.

"It's in my contract when my workday ends, and it's not allowed to go overtime," Gu Wei said indifferently as he invited Lay to leave the office with him.

"So now you're ignoring me. Fine, I won't stop until I ruin your plan," Yibo muttered to himself. He didn't care if he looked like a fool he wasn't happy seeing the two of them together. He quickly followed them out and saw Gu Wei and Lay holding hands, causing him to clutch his chest. "Even though he's not Zhan, why does it hurt to see him with someone else?" Yibo asked himself. He wasn't sure if he was imagining it, but he thought he saw Gu Wei smirk before entering the elevator. But before the elevator doors could close, Yibo blocked them with his hand.

"What do you want now?" Gu Wei asked, still holding Lay's hand. Yibo looked at their clasped hands before stepping in between them, causing Gu Wei and Lay to let go of each other.

"That was easy to break up," Yibo muttered, just loud enough for them to hear.

"Mr. Wang, you're not funny anymore. What's your problem?" Gu Wei asked angrily.

"I want to go out too, but since I don't have anyone to go with, I'll join you," Yibo said arrogantly. Lay and Gu Wei exchanged a secretive glance.

"Do what you want. You're old enough to make your own decisions," Gu Wei replied, moving closer to Lay to lean on him.

"Are you that tired that you need to lean on him?" Yibo asked. This time, Lay spoke up."If you're here just to cause trouble, why don't you go home and bother your wife instead of ruining our date?" Lay said, leaving Yibo momentarily speechless. But after a few seconds, Yibo laughed.

"I'm not here to cause trouble. I just want to spend time with him," Yibo said, once again stepping between them.

"Just ignore him, love," Gu Wei said, giving Yibo a cold look. When they exited the elevator, Yibo was still following them, and without any shame, he even got into the car with them. But to Gu Wei, it was as if Yibo was invisible; he didn't even glance in his direction.

They went to an amusement park, and upon arriving, Yibo complained about how they were too old to be there.

"No one told you to come with us," Gu Wei retorted.

Elsewhere, Jiyang was trying hard not to laugh as he sent a message. "Don't take this the wrong way, and I don't mean to interfere, but I just saw your husband with that guy you fought with at the auction." A few seconds later, his phone rang. He answered it with feigned concern.

Thank you for telling me, but could you take a picture of them for me?" Liying asked from the other end of the line, which made Jiyang even more amused.

"Sorry, I already left. I had to go somewhere urgently. But I'll give you the address of the amusement park where I saw them. Hurry, or you might miss them," Jiyang said, trying hard not to burst out laughing.
