Chapter Twenty

Her Face

(this is after the bathroom scene, also I hope this chapter isn't lame lol)

Sunny's POV

I finally walk out of the boys bathroom after collecting my tears and pulling myself back together. I didn't mind looking for Taehyung, I just wanted to be distracted. I started to walk to my first hour with my head low, starring at the ground and dragging my feet behind me. 

"Sunny," I heard Uni's voice behind me, and I quickly turned around, "Hey..." Uni and I haven't been on the best terms. I have this feeling in my gut that she knows what Taehyung is up to and is lying to me about it. 

I quietly sigh gathering myself together, "Hey," Uni walks next to me.

"How are you?" Uni awkwardly looks around as we walk. 

"I've been better, you?" 

"Uh same," I nodded wanting to leave the conversation, but Uni continues to talk, "I-I know things have been off with us, but I want you to know that I'm your friend and I care about you. I want us to be like before," 

"I never didn't want that Uni...you just slowly started making time for Taehyung and kind of forgot about me," Uni looks choked up. 

"Well...like I said, Taehyung and I had a project we needed to get done,"

"With Namjoon?" She nods, "When did you three have class together?" 

"I c-changed my math period, and they happened to be there," Uni looks away, she's unable to lie to my face. 

"You would tell me if something is going on right?" Uni looks up at me, " You're my best friend, you wouldn't lie to me," She stays silent, "So is there anything going on between Taehyung and Jinhwan? " Uni stares at me like she wanted to tell me something but stopped herself. She gripped her backpack strap tighter knowing what she is doing is wrong, "Uni?" I started to sound a little hurt, what if she really is hiding it from me. 

"T-their fine! Nothing is h-happening sunny, don't worry," Uni smudges her lips after talking and looks down at her shoes. I sigh once again, I know she's lying. 

"Uni look me in the eye and tell me you're not lying," It takes Uni a couple seconds before slowly glancing at my eyes. She takes a big gulp before responding.

"I'm no-" Uni's phone started to ring loud, she quickly grabs it and looks up at me, "I need to respond to this, I'll see you at lunch okay?" Before I could say anything she runs away with her phone. 

I finally reach my class and Taehyung isn't here. I'm not surprised, I don't think either one of us wants to see each other. Instead I see Jinhwan in his spot, I tilt my head to the side walking up to him. 

"Why are you in Taehyung's spot?" I drop my backpack to the ground and take my seat next to Jinhwan. 

"I figured he wouldn't come to class," Jinhwan softly smiles. There is a bump over his right eyebrow that is bruised, and his lip has his dried blood on it. I knew it hurt him to smile because right above his left dimple was a cut. 

I looked at him guilty, "I am so sorry Jinhwan, I honestly don't know what that was about," Jinhwan shakes his head, "Taehyung has been acting very strange and I don't know why. I've been trying to get him to talk to me but he won't," 

"Don't worry about it Sun, you didn't hurt me," His comment warms my heart, "But why hasn't Taehyung been talking to you?" 

"I don't know. He spends his days sneaking out with Namjoon and Uni, and they won't even tell me what's going on," Jinhwan looks away for a second. 

"Their like a little group..." He speaks under his breath and I quickly nod. 

"Exactly! And they just lie to my face about it-" 

"Sunny," He grands my wrist and looks me in his eyes, "I'm here okay? They might've betrayed you but I'm your real friend. Whatever they tell you, don't believe. I want you to trust me when I tell you that I care wholeheartedly for you," Even though I was a little confused, it felt good hearing that from Jinhwan. 

"O-okay, I know your my friend Jinhwan," I softly smile before glancing down at his wrist. I saw his pulse pumping fast, It seemed like he was a little nervous but I was paying more attention to the sound of his blood moving in his wrist. The more I focused on the sound, it was like I could smell his blood. I felt my tongue become more watery as I take in the smell. 

"You okay Sun?" Jinhwan's voiced quickly distracted me and I pull my hand away from him and looked away before I could create an incident. 

"Y-yeah I'm good," I reach for the notebook that was in my backpack and waited for the teacher to begin the lesson.

After school I looked around for Taehyung, I was beginning to get a little worried. I just want to see that he is fine, I don't want him to get all crazy on Jinhwan again. I gave up and headed out the door starting to make my way to my house. 

I turn the corner and began walking on a difference sidewalk. I had so many thoughts while going home. Will Taehyung be at my house to finally talk? Will he break up with me? Is Uni really lying to me? Am I overthinking all of this? And where the hell is the smell of blood coming from!?

I quickly stopped my legs and sniffed around me to figure out where the smell was coming from, it smelled very fresh, like a new wound. 

"O-ow...ow," I hear the voice a little kid around the corner. I walk towards the voice and see a little boy sitting on the ground with his knee to his chest, and his hands covering the wound. The smell of the blood became more strong the more I came closer to the boy. 

"Hey, little guy..." I slowly walk towards him, "Are you hurt?" The kids nodded his head holding back his tears. 

"I t-tripped and scraped m-my knee," He hitched his breath and sniffed before lifting his hands revealing his bloody cut. My eyes widen at the sight, then quickly licked my lips. 

"O-oh, I see," I lowered my body and bended down in front of him, "It's a really big cut..." I place my hand on his knee to get a better look at the cut. My eyes were still glued to the blood. 

"It h-hurts, can you help m-me?" The boy adjusted his position as I sat in front of him, this caused his blood to smear on my fingers. I felt a tingling sensation under my eyes, "Ma'am, your eyes..." I looked up at the boy and tilted my head. 

"Whats your name?" 

"K-Kang Soo," He responds nervous and I smiled at him.

"Thats a cute name," I look back at his wound, "I don't have any bandaids on me Kang Soo," 

"You don't?" Kang Soo says desperately. 

I shook my head, "I don't, looks like you'll need another way to stop the bleeding," The kid stays silent and my eyes kept looking at the blood. No matter how badly I wanted to run away from the situation, I feel like I couldn't. I feel like I have no control at this moment, and all I wanted to do was feed on this innocent little boy, "I know a way..." I slowly gripped his leg with my hand and tilted my head adjusting. 

"M-ma'am, what are you doing?" Kang Soo continues trying to hold in his cry, but becomes creeped out. He pulls his leg away from me making me quickly look up at him. He notices my face and teeth then begins to scream. I couldn't calm the kid down now, and he wasn't paying attention to his knee anymore. All I can think about his how this is my chance. I yanked his leg back to me and dig my teeth into the wound drinking as much blood as I could, "AAAHHHHHH" Kang Soo screams as loud as he possibly could. Then, I heard a sound like a persons footsteps and quickly let go of the kid and looked behind me. By the time I looked back the kid began running away. 

I realized what I did and wiped the blood from my mouth tearing up, "Shit shit shit!" I got up looking around to make sure no one saw this. After making sure the area was clear, I ran back to my house. 

Jinhwan's POV

I quickly hid behind a building panting. I was so confused, I was so scared. Why did she look like that? Her eyes were red, and there were veins sticking out under her eyes. There was blood in her mouth-and her teeth were so sharp- what the hell, what the hell!

I was too afraid to look back at Sunny so I just started running the opposite direction. I ran as fast as I could, I felt like she was behind me upset that I saw her. I ignored the strangers who were starring at me like I just saw a zombie and continued running. 

I finally made it home and lock the door as soon as I got in. I pant entering the kitchen to get a glass of water. while drinking the glass I rethink about what I just saw, "A...a vampire?" I set down the water and shook my head, "No, they're not real Jinhwan!" My legs started to pace around my kitchen, and bring my thumb inbetween my teeth thinking hard about this, "She was sucking his blood? That kids blood! " I stopped walking, "What else could she be...what the hell a vampire!?" My hands are brought to my hair and ruffle it in frustration, "She's scary...evil. She's strong," I remove my thumb from my teeth and tilt my head, "Sunny is a killer," I slowly began to smirk, "She's like me," A chuckle escapes my mouth, "She's like me!" I begin to laugh harder and harder, "Aaaaah...we are the same," 

The feeling of fear left my body, and I actually felt safe. I felt content with the thought of sunny being a vampire. What can Taehyung do with the information of Kyung when I know his girlfriend is a vampire...I feel free.
