What happened?

Sunny's POV

For the first time in forever, I woke up to the smell of warm pancakes coming from the kitchen. I smiled in my sleep before opening my eyes. I felt the emptiness in my bed so I thought it was maybe Taehyung. I slowly sat up on my bed and looked down at my shirt, assuming the blood from the girl was still there. However, it wasn't. I stared at my shirt confused, is Taehyung really here then? He would be the only one calm enough to change my shirt without freaking out and waking me up, so it had to be him.

The visions of me killing that girl flooded my head. The guilt was getting hard to handle, I just wanted it to stop. I know I shouldn't of killed her, I shouldn't of went to the woods either. I wonder what her friend on the phone is thinking of, or even her parents, she also had a life and I took it from her. She did nothing but try to help...The guilt turned into tears as I rap my arms around myself for comfort.

"I'll get through this," I remind myself before wiping off the tears and getting out of bed. I walk towards my door and down the stairs. As I guessed, Taehyung was putting the fresh made pancakes onto the only plate that was out. I smiled softy as I walk up to him, "Hi.." I whisper not having too much energy from the day before. He sets the pan down and wraps his arms around my shoulder pulling me into a comforting hug and quietly speaks.

"Hi," he places his cheek on my head not letting go of me," How did you sleep?" He asks concerned.

"I slept okay," I pulled away from the hug looking up at him,"Where did you sleep?" I asked concerned about my parents finding him here.

"I left after you fell asleep," I nodded, "I came around an hour ago, figured your parents would've left to work by now," I silently stared into his eyes. How badly I just wanted to stay like this, feeling safe, and not having to face the world today. I don't want to know if we'll fight today, or if something will happen with Jinhwan. I just want to stay like this. Taehyung smiles at me before guiding his hand to the food, breaking the eye contact, "Buutt, I made you some pancakes to lighten your mood."

I walk over to the table where the plate was and sat down, "How about you?" He leans into the table and rests his body on his arms which was on the table.

"I ate...before I got here," I knew what he meant by that, I look down at my food reminding myself of killing that girl, "Your should eat though, a lot happened yesterday and you just need to rest," He smiles at me again warming my heart.

"Could you stay here today? I don't really want to be alone," I asked.

"Sure, I can stay for a little,"

___

As the day whines down, Taehyung and I get in bed and cuddle. The back of my body on his, and we intertwine our legs. He wraps his arms around my chest consistently kissing my head, giving me the best of butterflies.

"I really miss this," Taehyung whispers to himself, but I could hear him. Vampire hearing and all.

"Me too.." I whisper back.

"I know I haven't been the most supportive lately...or the most present, and I'm sorry. I really don't want you to feel like I don't care or don't love you anymore, because I do. And I need to make that clear," He holds me a little tighter, "I don't know what I'd do if you weren't in my life Sunny..."

"I love you too Taehyung," For some reason, that's all I could say. Thats all he needed to hear, "More than you know," I felt his cheeks lift into a smile that made me happy.

Taehyung's phone buzzed for a second and he grabs it to take a look at it.

Namjoon: We're ready.

I turn my head confused by the text but it alerted Taehyung, "oh..I need to go Sun," He says in a guilty voice.

"It's-It's okay," I sat up to give him room to get off the bed, and he does, "It sounds important," I comment. He looks at me for a second before leaning in and kissing me softly.

He slowly lets go of the kiss, "Call me if you need anything, kay?" He says concerned. I nodded at him and he backs out of the room, leaving. At that moment I really wanted to pick up the and call him, because I still need him. I'm still thinking of that girl, and how bad I feel for hurting her. I started to feel more angry the more I would think about it. Angry at myself, angry at the situation. This anger turned into hunger. I tried to think of ways to make myself feel better, then I remember.

I got off the bed and made my way to the bathroom. I take a good look at myself in the mirror. I see my face, how it looks hungry, How my eyes had a red tint in them, and my teeth were showing and sharper than last time. Even the veins under my eyes are moving around, I only wanted one thing. I slow bended down to the cabinet, and opened it with a shaky hand. I moved around my hair brush and straightener, and found it.

The other red warm blood Taehyung forgot to to throw away last time he looked in here. It was in my hand, someones flesh was in my hand. Yet this time, I didn't feel as guilty. I grinned my teeth impatiently and hungry, I quickly ripped off the corner of the bag and started drinking the blood. I savored the flavor in my mouth, and took my time drinking it. By the time I was finished I got up and looked at my face again. As my face was turning back to its normal state, I look at the blood that was smeared on my lips and even my hands. I stood there, ashamed.

Taehyungs POV

I opened the diner's door and noticed how empty it was. I looked around for a minute and saw Namjoon and Uni waving at me to catch my attention. I quickly walk over to them.

"Hey Tae," Namjoon greeted me in an uplifting tone, trying to help the vibe.

"Hey," I looked down to see Uni sitting in front of Namjoon and nodded at her before she scooted over to give me a seat. I looked at namjoon.

"Tae just sit," He said annoyed.

"I will, scoot over," Uni rolled her eyes and sat back in her original spot, as Namjoon scooted over and I took a seat, "Okay. Lets talk," I said firmly.

"First, Why are we assuming its Jinhwan who murdered Kyung? Theres no evidence," Uni mentions confused before Namjoon responded.

"I don't know what you guys will think but look at this," Namjoon reaches for his pocket and pulls out his phone. He shows us the news article that recently was posted confirming Kyung's death, "We went to Kyung's school two days ago at 4 pm, right?" Uni and I nodded our heads, and Namjoon scrolled some more on the article, "It mentions that Kyung was at the school until 7 that night,"

"So?" I questioned.

"What was he doing so late there?" Uni asks.

"It says that according to the security cameras, he was just studying late that day. Then someone came behind him and stabbed him," I tiled my head confused, "You get where i'm going with this?"

"Thats it? Thats all they're letting the public know?" I started to question the article.

"Exactly," Namjoon responds, "There gotta be more to it."

"Are we sure the school is open until 7?" I ask and Uni quickly responds.

"What school was it?"

"National Korean High School," I respond. Uni places her back on the booth before responding.

"They close the school at 5," Uni and I look at each other confused, "Unless there's a school event, they are never open that late. It's a very strict school. I know because I have some friends that go there," As I was registering the news, I was trying to figure out where Jinhwan would play a roll into all of this. It was silent, we were all thinking.

"Jinhwan forgot everything he said that night he got drunk, so he couldn't be at the scene because of us...so maybe he didn't go?" I spoke in disappointment, I was hoping this could be the story that saves my relationship.

"What if he didn't forget?" Namjoon looks down at the article scrolling from top to Bottom multiple times, "I mean this article is too short, who would randomly kill someone like this?"

"Theres security cameras all over that school and neighborhood. They should have a lead on the murderer by now," Uni mentions," What do you mean if he didn't?" Uni leans back into the table concentrating on Namjoon words.

"Just think about it guys," Namjoon shuts off his phone in frustration and leans towards he middle of table, "That night, Jinhwan was saying some crazy things but it all surrounded Kyung," Namjoon looked at Uni and I to see if we were catching on, "He kept mentioning how he ruined him and how much he hated Kyung, and now all of a sudden he's dead?"

"He also mentioned he was diagnosed with something too?" I added on.

"Okay guys, so much information but where is this leading us!?" Uni raises her voices almost giving up, "Did he kill him or no-"

I interrupt Uni as everything started to piece together, "Okay..maybe he did, maybe not, but maybe. Let's just say he did," Uni and Namjoon looked at me, "But how is he openly walking around Korea like he isn't a suspect?"

"The police are smart, they should know something by now, " Uni mentions.

"Unless, Jinhwan made sure this was all that is put out in the public..." Namjoon suggests looking at me. We both looked at each other shocked. This could really be Jinhwan, "Maybe when we were talking to him about Kyung, it triggered something in him," He adds.

"How would Jinhwan be able to threaten the police?" Uni responds unsure.

"Well we will figure that out once we see the tapes," I turn directly at Namjoon.

Namjoon nods, "Yeah I'll ask him,"

"Ask who?" Uni asks

"I know a guy that could probably hack into the system and get the hidden tapes," Namjoon pulls out his phone again, "Let me go call him," I stand up backing out of the booth letting Namjoon walk by, after he leaves I sit back down looking awkwardly at Uni.

Namjoon's POV

I raise the phone to my ear waiting for Jungnim to respond. He dropped out of school sophomore year because he was making a good amount of money hacking into systems for people. Policemen, victims, even suspects. He never turns down a good story.

"Hello? " Jungnim answers the phone after a couple rings.

"Hey Jungnim, How you've been?" I didn't want to come off like I was just using our friendship.

"I've been alright, you? " He responds in happy tone.

"I've actually been dealing with something, you think you could help?"

Taehyung's POV

After a couple seconds of Uni and I not speaking, I finally opened my mouth, "I know you kinda of got dragged in this because we were at your work the first day, but you don't really need to help if you don't want to,"

Uni quickly fixes her poster, and pouts disappointed at my words, "I want to tae, I-"

"Taehyung" I correct her.

"Whatever, Sunny is a very close friend of mine, I want her to be safe," I softly smiled at her, "I also care about you too...and even though you don't believe me, I want the best for both of you. You've been through a lot,"

"Thanks Uni...I want her to be safe too. With her transitioning it's been very tough,"  Uni folds her hands, fidgeting with her fingers.

"How is she doing with all of that? She doesn't really talk about it with Lei and I"

I hesitated before responding, "She...she killed someone yesterday," Uni's eyes widen as she sits back on the booth.

"W-what?"

"I mean it'll happen eventually, but I was really hoping not this soon. I've been trying to get her to understand that its not worth a kill when there's other things she can...you know," Uni looks at me a little disgusted, "eat."

"How do you feed?"

"I feed on animals. It's enough to get me through without hurting anyone, but Sunny is having a harder time doing that," Uni nods as if she understands Sunny's situation.

"Well...I'm here if you ever want to talk. I know i'm her friend, but I want what you want too," She smiles at me and I felt a little comforted for a while.

Namjoon quickly walks back to us before I could respond to Uni, "He said he'll do it. He'll look into the footage!" Namjoon cheers and I felt a sign of relief, and I'm sure Uni does too.

"Thats great!" Uni responds

"I got to meet him now though, time is money," Namjoon smiles at me as if we already cracked the case. He then turns around and quickly walks out the door.

It was just Uni and I again, and I didn't want to continue this conversation anymore, "I um, I'm going to go home," Uni nods as I get up from the booth. As I make my way towards the door, I realized she wasn't getting up. I turn around and looked at her, "Do you..maybe need a ride?" I asked uncomfortably.

She giggles, "You sure?"

I nod, "Y-yea, why not,"

____

Namjoon's POV

As I parked my car, I noticed the very small black door. I assumed this was his place from the address. I slowly walked in surprised that it wasn't locked. The room smelled like metal and old wires, which was all over the room. Jungnim had laptops all around the place, wires plugged in from every direction, almost no room to walk.

"Hey, be careful," Jungnim spun his chair around and looked up at me, "Hey!" Jungnim quickly got up and walked over all his wires to get to me. I stood there confused as to why he asked me to be careful. He wraps his arms around me, and pulls me into a tight hug, "It's been forever,"

I hug him back, "Haha, I know," Jungnim lets go of me and backs up.

"So, what did you need?" He walks over to his computer and gets comfortable. I walk behind him and stand next to his table leaning my hand over the desk.

"I need you to look into the murder of Kyung," I say firmly.

He looks at me as if he knew he's wasting his time, "Namjoon, I need more information than that. Last name?" I bit my lip nervously.

"I-I don't know it,"

"Age?"

"Uh..no," He stares at me.

"Date of birth?!"

"Nope," I respond quick.

"Then how will I help?" Jungnim sighs in frustration.

"Theres someone who I think is a suspect. His name is Jinhwan," Jungnim opens his mouth to ask the same questions, "and no I don't know any of his personal information, but I just need to know if he was at the crime scene," Jungnim nods before turning his chair towards the computer and started typing.

"You need a security camera tape?" He asks confidently

"Yeah, National Korean High School, I need to see every tape from that day," Jungnim nods understanding what he needs to do. He types and scrolls for a couple minutes until he finds the folder he's looking for.

"Got it," He says proudly.

"Really?!" I lean into the computer.

"Yup. Is there a specific time you need,"

"Um..check the ones after 4," Jungnim follows my instructions and we watch the clips of Taehyung and I going into the school and talking to Kyung. After Taehyung and I left the school, there is a man wearing a black hoodie over his head, and a long black jacket. We closely pay attention as we see that man point something to Kyungs back and starts to speak to him. The camera is facing their backs.

"Aish...I can't get a good angle," Jungnim complains.

"What is he holding?" I ask myself.

"This the guy you think killed Kyung?" Jungnim asks.

"I'm hoping so," I respond.

"Looks like a threat to me..." He tilts his head and brings his fingers up to rub his chin. I looked down at him. A threat?

"The gun!" I respond standing up, "He could've threatened him with the gun he used!" I raise my hands up and looked down at Jungnim who looked annoyed at my volume

"Shhh! You tryna get me arrested?" He shouts back.

I slowly put my hands down as I apologize," Sorry.." I turned back to face the camera, "We still need to figure out who this person is,"

"What was the time of death?"

"The article said 7:15pm," Jungnim starts typing again looking for the correct tape.

"Here," He presses on the tape and we watch as no one was at the school at that time.

"Look around the area maybe?" I suggested. Jungnim looks at the camera footage and notice how Kyung left the school at 4:25 pm, right after the man threatened him. Jungnim gets up and walks to his mini-fridge to get a drink. I sat in his chair replaying the video over and over again, "What am I missing?" I speak to myself frustrated. I look closely at the action of that man, seeing if there any clues as to who he was, "See, when Kyung turns his face to look at the guy he looks shocked, he knows him. Who was he afraid of?" I continue to play the video and see the man walk away from Kyung. As he walks the wind hits in the opposite direction, making his jack and hoodie lift up a bit. I look down at what he was wearing. I saw a very bright pink shirt tucked inside his black jeans.

I stood up in shock. Is that Jinhwan? Thats the outfit he wore the day when he got drunk, he probably got a hangover and threw something on top. He still has that same clothes from that night-it has to be. I quickly grabbed my phone dialing Taehyung's number, I need to warn him.
