19-Fighting Back

"Suzy." I heard Teresa whisper to me as I was hooking her up to the machines that would give her back her memory.

"Now no talking, you wouldn't want my tongue to slip that when talking to Ava." Rat man said from behind me. I stiffened at his closeness. I glared at him as he walked past with that smirk of his. I was under the control of this man and I couldn't do anything about it...but now that they're here...just maybe.

I didn't talk to Teresa and moved on to help the next person. "So you're Suzy...heard about you from Minho." the blond said. I knew who she was, Sonya. I have been watch their progress the moment they got here. It hurt to see Minho fall for such a beauty like her. It hurt even more when I saw them kiss through the monitor.

I kept quiet as she continued to talk to me. "We kissed...we had something for one another, but even still he left me the moment he knew you were here." she said glaring at me. I could feel the gaze of Teresa watching me react to whatever Sonya was saying.

I leaned into her ear, "There's no point of being mad when you were never in his heart in the first place." I finish setting her up and moved onto the next person. A small smirk upon my lips as I watched her face grow red from anger. As petty as I was being, I was angry that she had kissed Minho.

"Now relax. This procedure is short, but could be very overwhelming as you will be gaining all memories of your past before the Flare happened." I said and switched on the machine. I could hear groans as they all gained their memories. I knew of an easier way, but no shucking way am I giving that information to WICKED. I knew a lot of things that I was not telling WICKED. I could find a cure, but they would just abuse their power more than they already have.

I walked over towards Teresa to see she was the first one up, for she had already gone through this transition once. I helped to detach the machine and leaned close to her ear. "We're escaping." I whispered and see her eyes widen in shock but quickly turned back to her poker face as Rat man walked by.

As everyone was gathered together and the guards were about ready to escort everyone. I went up to Rat man and smiled. "I've always wanted to do this for the longest time." I said and punched him in the face knocking him out. I saw that Teresa had already knocked down a few guards along with Frypan.

"Shoot them." I said and Teresa shot the guards with the launcher. Frypan following and others as they took the launchers from the guards. "Now we're all escaping because sooner or later when you have no use. WICKED will kill you." I said and watched as the others were listening.

"Why should we trust you? Don't you work for WICKED!" Sonya said pointing the launcher towards me. I smiled and walked towards her. I could see that she wasn't as brave as she had been during her days in the maze. I pulled out the gun that was hidden by my lab coat and pointed to her head.

"I wouldn't even try. We don't have much time to be chit chatting. But since you have the time to be jealous about Minho and my past relationship, let me tell you, if you want to live and find out if he still wants you then come; or else be part of WICKED's plan to restart the whole trials. Just because you've already gone through it doesn't mean you'll be spared this time. "

"Alright...I'm coming." she whimpered and pointed her launcher towards the ground.

"Good. Let's get out of this shucking hell hole." I said and walked out the lab. "First we're raiding the weapons." I said and started running down the hall towards the armoury. We met a few guards here and there but quickly shot them with the launchers. When we finally reached there we emptied out the room and ran for the berg. The alarms were ringing everywhere.

"Teresa take them to the berg. Some of you will be coming with me. We have to rescue Thomas and the others." I said. Teresa nodded and we split into two groups. I started to head towards the room that they were suppose to be confined in, but when reaching there the room was empty and the guards were still knocked out.

They must have left already. Then I heard it over the radio of one of the guards. "Thomas has escaped. Guards all gather to zone C. Repeat. Come to zone C."

I'm glad that they had escaped and probably were safe. "Let's go." I said and we started back the way we came. As we approached closer to the berg Rat Man decided to show up with a group of guards.

"Suzy!" he said while wiping blood from the corner of his mouth. "Your little boyfriend and his friends already left the premises. So glad that you decided to stay behind." he said smiling.

"Thanks for the information. Now any step closer and i'll shoot." I said and everyone behind me aimed their launchers at each guard.

"Weapons down. We can't harm her. You'll come back." he said. Then we all ran back and joined Teresa. I didn't know if Rat man was lying, but if he was we couldn't wait for them. We had to leave now, so the guards wouldn't be able to stop us.

"Let's go!" I shouted and Teresa took the role as being pilot. Everyone seemed to be exhausted that they laid down wherever they could. I went to talk to Teresa. "Hey."

"Hey. You've changed a lot since the last time I seen you." she said to me smiling.

"I guess one good thing when you go to the maze with your memories swiped is that you have a second chance at life." I said and took a seat in the other empty pilot seat. "Just when I got to see him in the flesh, he ends up leaving me behind this time. I guess I deserved it." I sighed as Teresa laughed.

"So where to?" she asked.

"Denver." I said and she took off.
