XVIII: A Strange Visitor With Strange Words

06:05, 21 November 2022

The light above my hospital bed flickered like in some horror movie. The window was open for a change, allowing a cold breeze to blow through. I lay on my side trying to get comfortable, it was pretty hard since I'd been laying in the same bed for weeks.

I never ended up eating anything else after I threw it all up earlier, my day nurse had rushed back into my room right after she rushed out. She cleaned up the mess and took me into a warm bath, she called my physiologist because I told her I was having a panic attack. The downside of it was that I tore my stitches open and increased the risk of breaking my collar bone again after it just healed. My bones had always been hard to break, after fights I rarely came back with a broken bones. And the doctor said I had a freakishly shirt healing time, my bones healed faster than the average person.

My day nurse cried once more when she saw the dark purple bruises on my collar bone, shoulders, ribs, and my hips. All curtsy of Sanzu.

I couldn't sleep, the bags under my eyes were as clear as day. I sat up in my bed, my hospital gown bunching beneath me. I dragged my hands over my face and took in a deep breath. My mind always wondered back to why none of them came back to get me or see me. It broke me, they never really cared.

"My my, what the hell happened to you?" A soft recognizable voice spoke from my hospital room door, the voice was like no other because this one had a thick Russian accent to it. It was Fyodor?

I slowly turned my head, slightly afraid I might be seeing things or going insane. But I wasn't he was standing there. He glowed in the dark like some god, and the all too familiar hypnotic eyes caught my attention.

"It's been a long time love." He said in his soothing voice, it sent shivers down my spine.

I fell over the side of my bed and landed on my feet, he walked closer and I walked away from him. I walked back towards the window.

"Am I hallucinating?" I said in a shaky voice, my hands and legs trembling.

He chuckled, inching closer and closer? "No love I'm really here." His soothing voice reached my ears and I felt instantly weakened. I tried to make the distance between us grow but I eventually hit the wall behind me and had nowhere else to escape to.

"Stay there." I quickly shouted in a panic. "Don't move, I don't know if I can trust you."

He stopped in place, his face not holding a smile but a rather displeased look. In his left hand, he held a bag that looked familiar to me, it was my duffle bag that I brought with me everywhere. Why the hell would he have it?

The last time I had that crusty old bag was when Bonten and I were in Shibuya, I forgot to bring it with me to Yokohama.

He seemed to notice that I was observing the bag and held it up, "It's yours, someone put clothes in it and other necessary items in there for a young woman to survive. Flee the hospital tonight and go home."

His words shocked me, they didn't make any sense, and I was unsure if I should listen to them. Fyodor wasn't a kind person, yes he was good at pleasing women, but deep down he was a manipulative asshole. I wanted to see him for the longest time because I thought it would bring me peace, but now seeing him again my bones rattled and my skin felt like goose flesh. It was bone-chilling and nerve-racking.

"What are you saying?"

His eyes sharpened, his face was visibly annoyed. "I pity young helpless women like you, I only saved you for a part of my plan and it worked. So now you're useless to me, but when I saved you and took you away, someone from your little group spotted me and figured out who I was. I give him credit, he is slick and incredibly skilled. He wanted me to give you this bag and this note."

He quickly closed the gap in between us and handed me the bag and note, all of his words shocked me and stung me as well. "So you didn't want me either?" I asked, my voice breaking. A heavyweight fell upon my chest and my eyes burned from tears.

With an empty stare, he placed a hand on my shoulder, "I am a god, I am incapable of love. What happened between us was all a lie." His silky words made my stomach turn and I pushed his hand off my shoulder, he was doing all of this for the benefit of his plan. "But the person who told me to give these to you cares for you. Someone does want you."

He was right and I did understand it, it didn't hurt me but it didn't feel good either. We spent a night together and that was it, it would never be anything more than that.

Slowly, I raised my head to look into his magenta eyes. "Who was it?"

He smiled, "If I tell you I'll spoil the fun." His words faded and so did his silhouette. He was gone suddenly.

He vanished right before my eyes, he was here solely to give me the bag and note. I didn't feel any better than before, my head pounded and my mouth ached. I quickly moved my feet and set the bag onto the bed.

I didn't waste any time, I wanted to get out of this hospital and Fyodor being here and telling me to was like fate telling me to. I pulled out a long coat that I recognized, it was Sanzu's trench coat from a long time ago that he gave me when we were just teenagers.

I put it on over my hospital gown and slipped on the cheap cotton material slippers that were dreadfully annoying.

It was pretty late so I would have plenty of time to flee.

I closed the bag because a coat was all I needed and went straight for the note. It left the bare minimum of details, the name of the sender wasn't even on it. It just gave me the information to meet at a sketchy laundromat in downtown Yokohama.

This all hurt my brain, honestly, I felt like I was going to pass out from stress and confusion, but the party never stops I guess. I shoved the note in the side pocket of the bag and threw it over my shoulder, I didn't bother to leave a note to my nurses. I didn't really care too.

I threw the curtain aside and unclipped the window lock, in one swift motion I opened the window and cold air blew past me. I jumped from my first-story window and my ankles stung upon impact with the ground. It must've been raining because I could feel the cold muddy water seep through my slippers, the sensation made me feel uncomfortable.

Whoever set me the note wanted to get me out of this place and to save me, if I had to flee and bleed to get out of this miserable hell hole. I most definitely would.
