IV: Secrets & Lies

When Y/n was on her way home from the tattoo parlor, she texted Kokonoi in a somewhat panicked manner. She had completely forgotten about seeing Inui tonight.

Y/n:Holy shit Koko, I forgot. I meet up with Inui tonight.

Koko had also completely forgotten and almost spit out his cigarette when he read the girl's text, he cleared his throat and tried to act calm, but his body was too tense. Mikey could easily find out about this and he could get into some deep shit. He also didn't want to see Inui after so long, he still had the obsession over Akane...

Kokonoi:SHIT. God damn, I forgot. Alright, I'll work something out.

Y/n sighed in relief and the group arrived at the building, Y/n somehow gotten away from Rindou & Sanzu without looking too suspicious. She and Koko had gone up to his penthouse to come up with a plan and get into more discrete clothes.

Y/n put on a grey sweater, brown corduroy pants, some docs, and a long black trench coat. She met Kokonoi in the living room, by the warm fireplace. She almost burst out laughing when she saw him, he had his hair up in a low ponytail and some circle sunglasses. He was wearing a grey suit with a black trench coat over his shoulders, and fancy shoes. His red eyeliner was gone, it was replaced with black eyeliner and he had put fake piercings in. Y/n wanted to laugh so bad, she didn't know if she could hold it in for much longer. He took the 'discrete' part a little too seriously...

"Alright, Y/n I told Mikey we were going out for dinner. So we are good to go." Koko sighed, he was looking at the painting of Akane above his fireplace, Koko looked back at Y/n. Y/n was clenching her stomach, she looked back at Koko and proceeded to burst out laughing. She couldn't contain herself anymore.

"What? Is there something wrong with my outfit?" Kokonoi asked worriedly, he examined himself looking for anything wrong, but found none.

Y/n composed herself enough to respond to Koko, "You look great but you too the discrete part a little too seriously. You don't look anything like you, except for the eyebrows." Y/n reassured him, perfect! That was what Koko was going for, he didn't want Inui to recognize him so he went all out.

After a moment of silence it finally clicked, Y/n knew why he went all out. It was because he didn't want Inui to recognize him. Y/n sighed and turned away from Koko, "Let's go."

Koko obeyed the girl's orders and they walked out the doors, they got looks from a passing Sanzu and many other lower-ranking Bonten members. Y/n gave the address to Kokonoi and he took the wheel. It was almost time to meet up with them, they were definitely going to be late.

Y/n decided to text Inui...

Y/n: Hey if it's okay I'm bringing a friend.

A couple of minutes passed... and the response from Inui came.

Inui:It's cool, I got a great surprise for you.

Y/n:Can't wait! See y'a in 10.

Y/n put her phone in her pocket and the two sat in comfortable silence.

"Koko, what's going to be your cover name?" Y/n turned to face Koko, he focus entirely on the road.

"What about Ryuu?" Koko suggested, he totally came up with the name last second and it somewhat fit his interesting look.

"I like that name," Y/n said with a smile, it went silent again and Y/n took this opportunity to appreciate to view of Shibuya. The buildings were bright and colorful and people still covered the streets. As they continued to drive, in the distance Y/n could see the cat shop they were meeting at. It's an odd place but Inui said it would work best.

Koko parked the car directly in front of the cat shop, Y/n saw Inui standing in front of the doors. The sign said closed which confused Y/n, but Koko turned off the car and faced Y/n directly, "I'm going to stay in the car for a minute." He confessed, breaking into a sweat. He was nervous.

"That's okay, I understand." Y/n sighed and opened the car door, Inui's face lit up and he smiled slightly. Y/n didn't say any words, she just hugged him. It was a relief to be hugging someone she was once close to, that hadn't been corrupted.

They hugged for a minute but released each other, "It's been a long time." Inui paused, "Have you been well?" He asked politely. He was definitely nervous, and he still had that same cold stone look on his face.

"I've been okay, I guess," Y/n said nervously, she definitely couldn't tell him about Bonten and Mikey, it would cause problems.

Inui looked at her suspiciously but decided not to press, it wasn't his thing, "Anyways where is your friend?" He asked, his eyes examining the car and the person inside of it.

"Oh he was too nervous, he'll come later hopefully!" Y/n chuckled, trying to change the conversation.

"What's his name?" Inui asked, something in his body language was off. Y/n chuckled nervously, she could sense Inui knew something. Hopefully, he didn't notice, I mean Kokonoi looked nothing like himself, right?

"Shit, wow this is great." Y/n thought to herself. Y/n sighed and took a moment, "Oh his name is Ryuu. He's super shy." Y/n laughed, trying to look as innocent as possible. She was nervous, she felt so bad about lying to Inui. He was too innocent and pretty for this.

Inui looked uneasy but put on a smile to lighten the mood, "Alright, I have a surprise for you. Be ready." He smiled, it was rare times when one would see Inui smile like that.

"Alright let's see it!" Y/n laughed, Inui opened the door to the cat shop and pulled Y/n in. "Wait hold on it's-" Y/n couldn't see a thing, it was completely dark. Inui flipped the light switch and brought Y/n to the break room.

"Inui it's close-" Y/n tried getting Inui's attention but was once again interrupted by him opening the door.

"SURPRISE!!!!" People shouted from behind the couch, there were garland strands everywhere, there were cake and treats. Y/n was confused, she then realized at that moment, these people weren't just people, they were her friends.

Everyone was there, Chifuyu, Takemitchi, Hinata, Mitsuya, the Twins, Hakkai, Draken, and...Kazutora. "HOLY SHIT!" Y/n yelled, she didn't know how to feel. She thought it was just going to be Inui, but no, it was everyone. She hadn't seen them in so long, tears started streaming from her eyes.

"Ahhh don't cry!" Chifuyu smiled, running over to Y/n and pulling her into a hug. Eventually, everyone joined in, all huddled together and hugging each other.

She gave everyone a hug, but she took her time giving hugs to Kazutora and the twins. They spent time catching up, Y/n learned that Kazutora had been helping out at this cat shop Chifuyu worked at, and his mental health improved greatly. They all settled down on the couches and Y/n sat in a separate chair from everybody.

"Wait, hold up! You guys opened a restaurant!?" Y/n shouted, The Twins had opened a restaurant and she was bewildered. "Okay we have to visit sometime, that's amazing." Y/n laughed, she was sitting comfortably and everything about Bonten left her head for just a second.

"What about you, Y/n?" Hinata asked Y/n with a sparkly smile. She sat next to Takemitchi, his arm was over her shoulder. They looked truly happy. Y/n almost choked on her water, causing suspicious stares from everyone, "Uhh, well I actually quit my job yesterday on a whim and I'm thinking of moving back here." Y/n confessed, itching at her temple. The others looked crazed. They were shocked, they had not expected those words to leave her mouth.

Technically Y/n hadn't quit her job yet, she text her boss that she would be quitting but wouldn't be able to serve her two weeks due to "unfortunate circumstances", but her boss hadn't responded.

"You should definitely move back, the gang would be back together again!" Takemitchi smiled, everyone agreed with the idea. They loved having the gang back together, but for some reason, it didn't feel the same to Y/n. Probably because some of us weren't going to be "here". Y/n wanted to see if her friends had seen Mikey or Kokonoi, she wanted to test the waters.

"Have you guys seen Mikey any these days?" Y/n asked hesitantly, it was a hard topic after all and it could piss off a lot of people.

No one knew how to respond to the question, they didn't want to tell Y/n. They were afraid she would take it hard but little did they know, she partially knew most of it. "Yes, but not in the flesh. We've seen him on the news, he runs the worst criminal organization called "Bonten" in Japan and we've also seen Kokonoi, we don't know who else runs with him." Mitsuya sighed, he wasn't finished. He wanted to come completely clean to Y/n, "They've committed almost every crime known to man, they've committed gambling, fraud, prostitution, murder, and there have been some cloudy cases of rape."

The last part made Y/n's stomach twist. Rape, murder?! What the hell. She didn't know a lot of things about Bonten, she knew they were bad but not this bad. She felt sick, Manjiro always talked about respecting women. Even the Haitani brothers respected women, which truly surprised her. And Koko, he would never lay a finger on a woman without permission. Right?

The room had become silent which made everyone visibly uncomfortable, but Hinata came to save the day by suggesting that they play a game of cards. Y/n obliged, she didn't want to speak of what Bonten had done.

The night went on and the tension left the air, thankfully. It was suffocating and she honestly felt bad for bringing up Mikey. It wasn't a good idea, but she had wanted to see and brought this on herself.

By nine o'clock Y/n was getting tired and everyone was as well, they had all said their goodbyes and left. Takemitchi and Chifuyu had decided to walk Y/n outside since her "friend" never came inside. Before they got outside, Y/n stopped the boys she trusted the most.

They looked back at Y/n with confused expressions, "Hmm?" They said in unison.

"I'm a Bonten member," Y/n mumbled, she was ashamed. It was a guilty confession, "I'm telling this because I trust you with my life."

The boys turned into stone and there was a long pause before Chifuyu seemed to relax, "That's okay." He smiled, he was lying and Y/n could see tight through him. He was frustrated and terrified at the same time. Takemitchi just didn't say anything, he couldn't think of anything to say.

"Can I explain?" Y/n begged them, they nodded their heads unsurely and Y/n let out a relieved sigh. "I was kidnapped and forced into Bonten by Mikey. This all happened yesterday, I saw Mikey. He was there." Y/n confessed, she fiddled with her fingers. Y/n was well aware that she was physically strong, but she knew she wasn't mentally. "I even got a god damn Bonten tattoo." Y/n laughed, it wasn't a happy laugh. It was filled with regret and shamefulness, and Chifuyu and Takemitchi could sense that.

Y/n stood there and waited for their response, but it didn't come, instead, they pulled Y/n into a group hug. "No matter what you do, we understand." Chifuyu smiled warmly, Y/n forgot about his innocent smiles sometimes, "And if anything happens, anything bad, call us and we will be on our way." Takemitchi added, with a firm tone in his voice.

Y/n was relieved that they understood, that's why she cherished their friendship. They let her go from their warm hugs and gave her a smile. Their smiles gave Y/n butterflies in her stomach.

Y/n froze in her tracks. She didn't know what was happening, but before she knew it, a very high Sanzu had twin pistols aimed at the back of Takemitchi and Chifuyu's heads.

They froze, they could feel the cold end of the glock against their heads, "Oh oh, Y/n you're naughty." He giggled like a little fangirl, he was definitely having the time of his life. "Bad girl, your one bad girly."

The sound of the bell above the door rang and Kokonoi's voice spoke loudly, "Sanzu, get the guns away from them. No need for that." Koko snapped at the drugged man in front of him, Sanzu pouted like a little child but put the guns back in their holster.

Y/n was horrified and so were her two friends in front of her. "Let's go Y/n, this little paradise is over," Koko said firmly, he walked out the door leaving Chifuyu, Takemitchi, Sanzu, and her. She looked at them with sorrowful eyes.

"I'm sorry," Y/n mumbled walking pasted the pair. She stepped out into the warm summer air, followed by Sanzu who wrapped his arms around her waist. Y/n was too tired to try and fight him, he was truly surprised when she didn't remove his arms, it filled his mind with all sorts of thoughts. Not pure ones...

Tonight was rough...and it wouldn't be the last...

Okay, guys just to justify! I know Kazutora isn't supposed to get out for 10 years, but I really wanted him to be in this one so I made it 8, and technically Draken isn't supposed to be alive in this timeline, but I can not accept the fact that he died. I'm still pissed. I'm also sorry if this seemed rushed, I've had a busy weekend. I hope you understand. Oh, and did anyone get my "Killing Stalking" reference in the last chapter?
