Chapter 5: Encouragement and Deals

“Mhm.. Ah-” Lemmy began to make random sounds, no.. He was trying to speak! “D-aaaaa..” Bowser turned his head to his second youngest, his eyes softened as he realized what was happening. Luigi and Junior just looked at Lemmy in amazement.

 “d-da-d .. hn. Nnn-no” Bowser sat Luigi and got on his knees in front of Lemmy. 

“What?.. What is it kiddo?.. You can do it.. Cmon..” Bowser began to softly encourage Lemmy. 

“H-hu-hurt.. N-no.. hu-hurt!..” Lemmy almost yelled out the last part as he pointed to Luigi and began to cry. Bowser looked back to where he was pointed and then looked back at Lemmy. 

“You don’t want me to hurt him?..” He then slowly put his hands on Lemmy’s cheek to wipe away his tears.

 “Dad.. It's not Mr. Luigi's fault..” Junior continued. “It was our idea..” He then said shamefully, leaning his head down. 

“What do you mean boys?” Bowser said with confusion as he picked up Lemmy to comfort him. 

“You see.. We began to go to his room because we were bored, he would play with us. He’s really nice.. A-and he opposed the idea of leaving his room but we forced him.. Please don't be mad dad..” Junior explained as he began to tear up as well.

Bowser turned to Luigi and stared down at him, “Is this true green Mario?” 

Luigi muttered for a moment and then cleared his throat. “Y-yes King Bowser..”

Bowser sighed and patted junior’s head as Junior himself was wiping his tears away. “I suppose.. You can stay in your room.. I will not hurt you..”

The rest of the koopalings who were supposed to be practicing cheered in unison, “YAY!” 

Bowser looked at the center entrance of the garden to see the rest of his children. “Iggy! Roy! I told you guys not to leave the training room!”

“Sorry dad, but we got worried!” Iggy responded, Bowser then looked at Roy for his excuse.

“Little siblings come first, king dad!” Roy responded in defense, Bowser just sighed. The koopalings then came in rushing, telling Lemmy how they were so proud of him and hugging Luigi, being glad that he wasn't harmed as well.

“Can we still play with Mr. Luigi?” Ludwig asked, “Yeah! We will be super good!” Larry commented. “We won't complain about our chores anymore!” Wendy added, “Morton agrees with all this!” Morton stated.

Bowser would sigh, “I suppose.. BUT! Kamek, a guard, or I will be with you when you guys play with him.” The koopalings would get a bit upset at the last part but they were still grateful. “Now I’m going to escort Luigi to his room. Wendy, you're in charge while I'm gone.” Wendy nodded and began to yell at Larry and Iggy when she saw they were messing with the frogs. Bowser chuckled and waved his hand by his side to get Luigi to follow him, and Luigi quickly followed beside him as they headed back to his room. 

Once the koopalings were out of earshot, Bowser began to speak. “You're very lucky.. For a multitude of reasons.. Lemmy never hugs anyone except his family” Bowser didn’t look at luigi and kept forward. 

Luigi however looked up at Bowser and smiled lightly. “Heh.. W-Wendy said the same thing..”

“I haven’t heard a word of Lemmy ever since he was diagnosed.. We told him that he doesn’t have to speak if he can’t or doesn’t want to. I.. I sortove.. Thank you for that..” Bowser said with uncertainty in his voice. “Now.. green mario.. do you just play with my children all together or how does it work?” Bowser asked and finally looked down at Luigi. 

“U-uh..” Luigi quickly looked away from Bowser. “Um, sometimes we play together but sometimes they want one on one time so I give that to them when they want. Uh, at first they argued about one on one time but I made a schedule on a piece of paper in my room. And why can’t you call me my name” 

“One, you can earn the right for me to call you by your name and two I’ll need to see that schedule, I’ll give it back once Kamek makes a copy of it.” Bowser stated after he looked back forwards to where they were going. Once they arrived at the door, Bowser opened the door for Luigi.

“Ah.. uh thank you King Bowser..” Luigi fiddled with his hands as he walked in his room.

“Bowser is just fine, I don’t particularly like King Bowser to be honest, now good night.” Bowser said quietly before shutting the door.

“Uh.. Good a night..” Luigi muttered before the door was completely closed.
