Chapter 14 - Seungcheol's PoV

That afternoon Jeonghan's allowed to go home. In our way back, the atmosphere in the car is so awkward. Not a single word comes out of his lips. He just fixes his hollow eyes outside of the window. I can just heave a long exhale.

When we're arrived, I put my arms around his body to help him walk to our room. Seem like his body is still weak. I pull the cover on him once he lay down on the bed. I take a glance at his eyes. But that sadness still there on his face.

It's better for me to just walk out. Because I realize, the longer I stay around him, the deeper his sadness will be. I'm sorry honey, I'll go away from here this instant. I kiss his forehead and bid him goodnight. I do it all without looking at his face. Because I'm scared to see his sadness, the feeling he has to suffer because of my own mistake, the feeling he has to suffer because of my own stupidity.

On the room's door, Jeonghan's voice stops me.

"Where are you going?"

"I'll go to my study, today I didn't go to my workplace, so I will do my work at home. Just take a rest."

There's no more reply from him. So I make my way to my study. There were 2 meetings that I postponed today. So I have to call my secretary to fix all the works I neglected today.

I didn't realize, I fell asleep in my study. I see the clock on my desk shows 03.40 AM. I quickly clean up my desk and go to my room. I find my wife sleeping on the left side of the bed, the side where I usually sleep in, while hugging a pillow that I usually use. When I approach him, wrinkles on his forehead and trail of dried tears are seen on his face. Did he cry in his sleep? Did I cut his soft heart too deep? My eyes are sting. I hold back the tears that threaten to fall. The tears of regret for I've failed on fulfilling my promise, a promise to always make him happy.

I hug him in his sleep and endlessly uttering my apology. Forgive me honey, I really am sorry. I wish I could fix this. I wish I could bring back the smile on your face.

When my eyes are about to close, I feel my wife's body trembles in my arms. Suddenly he lets out sniffles in his sleep. Then he tries to push my arms from his body. The next words coming out from his mouth surprise me, "I beg you, please don't leave me...Seungcheol-ah, honey don't leave me...I could never live without you...I beg you...I beg you....."

Then come that heartbreaking cry from him.

"Jeonghan? Honey? Jeonghan-ah? JEONGHAN-AH!!!!!!"

He wakes up and his breath is uneven. His eyes show so much sorrow. In a second I find my wife already in my embrace. "I beg you honey...please don't leave me...I beg you...please...please...please..."

What is this? What did he see in his dream? Oh honey...how scary was that dream, to the point that you would cry in your sleep......

I hug his body tight and whisper "I'm here honey....I'm here....."
