Chapter 20: An Indoor Snowstorm

Cuddles and light kisses. That's what it all was that day. The whole time neither of them noticed that it was beginning to get dark outside. It was like they were in their own little dream land, together.
"No way! The sequel is so much better!" Hinata said. They both stood up facing eachother while trying to decide which movie they should watch next.
"No idiot, all originals are the best." Kageyama smirked while holding up both movies in the air where Hinata couldn't reach.
"Ah crap, it's 19:34 pm!" Kageyama gasped. Wait that means- Right then and there the front door was slammed open. A cold breeze flew through the house. It was indeed very dark outside and from what the two boys could hear, it sounded like a storm out there too. A tall woman with black slick hair entered the hall followed by a little shorter (but still tall as heck) man. She wore a puffy fake fur fancy jacket and the man wore a typical dad outfit. They didn't look like the friendliest of people.
"No Gen, there is no way he is, you are wrong." The woman said while brushing off the snow that was caught in the big fur. The man behind her struggled to get the suitcases inside without welcoming in some of the snow from outside.
"But maybe, the boy has been rather distant from us lately darling."
Hinata felt a shiver up his spine hearing them talk. Even their voices seemed intimidating. Kageyama put a hand on his shoulder as he stepped out in sight dragging the orange haired boy beside him. Hinata squeaked and then lowkey hid behind Kageyama.
"Oh Tobio! How was school?" She smiled but it seemed more like an evil smile. Hinata tried to avoid eye-contact as much as possible.
"It was fine." Kageyama answered quiet but strict.
But we didn't go to school today, why are you lying to your parents Kageyama!?
"Hm? Really? Because I checked the reported absense and it said that you were home sick today, do you mind telling me what happened sweetie?" Another one of her 'smiles'
Kageyama clenched his (still) bandaged fists. The other boy noticed.
Why can't they see I'm hurt or sick!?
"Yes um, I didn't attend school today because... because... I caught a cold this morning. This is my volleyball teamate, he has been helping me recover today." Kageyama bitterly pushed Hinata torwards his mom, changing the subject. Hinata let out another squeak, he felt extremly pathetic being in the same presence as this woman. Her blue eyes tried to make eye-contact but Hinata nervously tried to avoid.
"Pathetic." She sighed. Hinata could feel the weird aura getting darker. She crossed her arms waiting for something. Waiting for him to- OH!
"Nice to meet you Mrs.Kageyama, my name is Hinata Shouyou! A friend of Kageyama- I-I mean Tobio- I mean Kageyama!" Hinata bowed. He didn't expect to sound so shaky, he swollowed. This woman was something else.
"Since it's a snowstorm at the moment, you can stay in the guest room upstairs." The man from behind spoke his first words in the uncomfortable conversation. Hinata sensed Kageyama walking up to him and slapping him in the back. He turned around to see Kageyama form words without sound.
Thalk uwu?
Thank you? OH-
"T-Thank you so much for letting me stay!" Hinata bowed. The woman smiled, but it was more like a disgusted smile in Hinata's eyes. The other boy sighed grabbing the back of Hinata's shirt dragging him upstairs.
He was incapable of moving after that encounter. With shaky legs he collapsed onto the bed in the room, took out his phone and tried to text his mother that he wasn't coming home tonight. When done, he placed the phone beside hid head and sighed.
"Your mother is so scary Kageyama! How do you stay alive around her!?" He talked in his normal voice again.
"I don't. My parents aren't around much like I said. It's kind of awkward. I'm sorry I kept you here, If you want, you can stay in my bed for the night." Kageyama let himself slid down the door and put his hand in front of his face in order to hide his blush.
"N-no it's fine! I-I don't really want to disobey your family's orders. I don't think they like me either." Both of them sighed. Yeah, Kageyama's parents sure is a handful. He lowkey wished that he had other parents, parents that won't look down on his friends and will care if he gets hurt or sick. And even be home as parents should too.
"Do, do you think they would accept me if we you know... were a thing?" Kageyama's eyes lit up when hearing the smaller boy's words.
"I-I don't know..." Step by step he walked up to the boy in the bed.
"...but let's keep it a secret for now." Kageyama smiled. It made Hinata smile aswell followed by a kiss to the lips.

The room was dark and cold, the bed felt like a rock. The rocky ground seemed to make it even colder. Hinata curved up in a ball but even that didn't help. His whole body trembled from the icy atmosphere. After for what felt like hours of shivers he gave up. Watching the floor of the small room he suddenly noticed the blue light once again. Well of course Hinata was weirded out but he felt happy seeing the light. It lit up the room as well as warmed his heart. Before he knew it, his body was warm again. Laying beside another body made Hinata feel warm in every way. He smiled when he saw who his bedmate was.
"Goodnight, Kageyama-kun." Hinata whispered under his breath as well as placing a light kiss on his neck.
