Chapter 16: A Day At The Park
23:05, 7 October 2018* * *
Even if time is fast, the weather falls behind. That's how it was that year. The snow still hadn't come even though it was almost the middle of winter. It was just cold. Cold, cold and more cold. Cars would have frost on them and doors would be hard to open. The ground was hard as cement (can't say stone cuz it's already stone), even the dirt in the grass was hard. Hinata bet if you would fall you'd die or something, and as clumply as he was, Hinata tried to walk carefully, like when his feet touched the ground he made sure his whole foot touched it so he wouldn't slip. But that just made him look like a walking stick figure.
Today he spent the sunday with Kenma who he wanted to know more considering he seemed different from others. That made Hinata curious what kind of person he was. Not like himself at least.
They sat on a bench in the park that afternoon. There was a festival in the city that weekend so the park was pretty empty. Hinata was as energic as always and kept overwhelming poor Kenma with random words. Kenma didn't considered him annoying at all. There were sometimes when his tall dark haired spiker would meet his friend from Fukurodani High, Kenma would flee knowing what would happen if he stayed. The atmosphere exploded with weird repeating words. So compared to Hinata, he was fine with it.
"You're not like the others on my team at all! You see if you were Kageyama right now you would yell at me or punch me for being annoying." He giggled.
"That doesn't sound healthy Shouyou." Kenma played on his phone while listening to Hinata talk.
"Nah, it's fine! Aside from that, he is actually nice on the inside. He just doesn't show it."
"Are you guys close then?"
"I guess we're close. But enough to be calling eachother by our first names though." Hinata looked a little dissapointed at the thought but he lit up again thinking about how he got to know him better back at the tournament.

Kageyama laid in his bed. His house was as empty as always. No parents at home this weekend either. He growled and rolled over facing his by know beat-up alarm clock.
14:37 pm
His eyes wandered around his all too dark room and stopped at the team photo of the Karasuno volleyball club. Or more specifically, his eyes stopped at the annoying little spiker. All he could think about was him, and it annoyed him to hell. Why did Hinata pop-up in his mind all the time? He just wished for dream Hinata to dissapear from his head. That's when he came up with the brilliant idea of taking a jog to ease his mind, and so he did.
Kageyama tried to jog in the festival-filled city before giving up. He sighed out of annoyance. Maybe Hinata's village is not as crowed? If anything that neighbourhood seems much more quiet that his.
The tall boy took the train and then jogged through the empty streets. He took a turn into the park. When arriving at the small park he stopped to breathe a little by a tree. That's when he saw a certain someone sitting on a bench with the setter of the Nekoma volleyball team. A sudden feel of hurt hit him. The core of his body collapsed. Holding onto the tree next to him for suport with one hand and the other he pinched himself agressively in the stomach. What is he doing? His whole body boiled watching his spiker laugh and smile with that guy.
What is this feeling?
The tall boy tried to decide if he should walk up to him or leave him alone, but in the end the angrier side of him won. He looked up again seeing three guys walk up to him. The seemed familliar somehow, but he couldn't put his finger on who they were. One of them was a little shorter than the others and the other two was a little taller than himself. From his sight they didn't seem so friendly. Not at all. All the anger inside him morphed over into worry. There's no way those two shrimps would survive if they indeed was unfriendly. He took a few steps torawds them ready to defend, and when in the others sight Hinata stood up and smiled confusingly over at his worrying eyes. Kageyama looked at him while approaching and then looked over to the other three. He saw the smallest of the three pulling up his fisted hand. Kageyama's walk turned into a desperate run. His long limbs did him a favour of catching up to them.
*punching sound*
