Chapter 2- Underestimation
01:40, 17 November 2018* * *
It's the kid who bumped into me this morning!
The boy walked torwards the captain, still panting. Kageyama could hear all the whispers from the other 1st-years,"He's so small!"
"What are a middle schooler doing in here?"
"What is this, kindergarden?"
For some reason it triggered Kageyama, tough he also agreed with them. But the difference was that Kageyama kept his mouth shut.Who do they think they are?
"Hinata Shouyou!" He said out loud this time breaking the whispers. Everyone was startled by his bubbly attitude.
"W-well everyone! We will have practice tomorrow to test your skills, so be sure to get a good nights sleep!" The grey haired guy said, while the captian-person continued what he started.
"That's all! See ya tomorrow!" He said stricktly but also kindly. He looked scary, even to Kageyama. Then everyone started walking out, Kageyama following behind. He spotted that Hinata-guy walking at the front. Did he really have to notice this idiot? Was it because Kageyama's so tall and the boy's bright ginger hair stood out, it wasn't that hard to spot to be honest.

Faster! You have to spike faster!
Not this again.
Jump higher!
Stop.
Run faster!
No.
Faster!... Faster!... Faster!—
BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!
Kageyama woke up in a sweat. It almost felt like he were sleeping in a bathtub full of water. Those nightmares found their way back to my mind ey? What a shame. He sat in his bed for a while, breathing. And then he decided to wake up for school. I wonder how that Hinata is going to survive today. He'll probably die out of exhaustion or something. Well, we'll see.

Hinata sat the whole day restless, waiting for the bell to ring so that he could go play volleyball. To be honest. Hinata have never played in an official game before but he bet it was exciting. And nerve wracking. Nerve wracking too. He didn't exactly know what the rules were or how to properly play it. All he knew was that he loved it. It was that simple. Nothing more. Nothing less.
When he arrived at the gym Hinata felt like everyone was starring at him. It was uncomfortable, but he didn't show that. He always had that energized mood, especially when a volleyball was involved. Hinata knew exactly why they were starring. He stood out in many ways but in this situation his height was in the center. Everyone else was at least one head taller than him, sure it was frustrating but he had lived with it his whole life. This was not something new to him.
"Okay let's begin! First introductions everyone! My name's Daichi Sawamura, 3rd-year, the captain of the team."
"And I am Sugawara Koushi and a 3rd-year." Said the guy with grey hair, and then he glared at the end of the line with 1st-years passing the word to the guy at the end without saying a word.
And so they started practice. First up was receiving. Kageyama was good at that but Hinata was not. Next up was tossing and spiking. Half of the freshmen tossed and the other spiked. The first round Kageyama spiked and Hinata tossed. At last it was Hinata's turn to spike, and conveniently it was Kageyama who tossed this round.
Whispers strolled around the gym. And then one of them started talking out loud that caught Hinata off guard.
"Oi, little shrimp! Go back to middle school!"
The others laughed.
"Don't you see you don't belong here!?"
Hinata lowered his head.
"Aww do you wanna run home to mommy?" Daichi turned torwards the tall guys, starring into their soul ready to scold them good. In the middle of all this Hinata started moving.
"BRING IT!" He screamed and then jumped up in the air. Kageyama flinched, he didn't expect him to actually jump. Kageyama set the ball to him and Hinata spiked it.
Incredible.
