"death is the only option" he walked to me causing me to step back

"you said you could help me death doesn't seem like help kai it seems like death" i spat

"sarah" he put his hands on my shoulders "sarah look at me calm down you'll come back i just have to redo the spell"

"no kai i've died once it sucked i am not dying again so screw you screw your plan it's not happening" i walked out

I walked for about two hours when someone approached me driving a red car.

"stefan?" i said confused

"you know me but i compelled you"

"oh sh- well i uhm i'm wearing vervain" i admitted

"so you know about vampires?"

"yeah look i really need a place to sleep for the night"

"uh yeah sure come on" he opened the door

"thanks your not gonna kill me are you?"

"no" he laughed

"okay good" i shut the door

"so what are you doing-" i cut him off

"in town? everyone's been asking me that"

"i was going to say walking in the dark at one am"

"oh right sorry i'm just having a really bad day i just found out i have to die again just so i- never mind"

"die? again?"

"yeah weird i know"

"you are talking to someone who's died two times and came back"

"and we're you okay with just dying?"

"well the first time i came back a vampire and it turned me into a monster the second time i came back and my brother was dead"

"your brother wouldn't happen to be damon salvatore?"

"yeah how'd you know?"

"i met him he mentioned a brother"

"you met him did he feed off you"

"no we drank a lot and talked"

"you? you had a normal conversation with damon?" he laughed

"yeah sounds like it's not a normal thing"

"not at all the only person i've seen him care about is elena my ex"

"elenas your ex and she's dating your brother"

"you know elena too"

"i met her to at the hospital i was with her half the day"

"you've met everyone huh?"

"guess so" i laughed

We arrived at a home he opened the door and we walked inside.

"wow nice place how long have you had it?" i said looking around

"long time very long time" he replied and grabbed a drink

"you don't seem like the drinking type"

"well the girl i thought i could have a future with is avoiding me because not to long ago she shut her humanity off it did some things causing me to turn mine off"

"caroline?"

"yeah how'd y-" i cut him off

"the day she attacked me you said something about her humanity being on"

"oh right i did didn't i, need a drink?"

"please" i sat beside him and grabbed the drink he had

"so what was that whole thing about you dying again"

"well seven months ago my brother had me killed"

"your brother"

"oh yeah" i downed the drink

"i'm curious now continue" he poured me another drink

"well i came back obviously but now i've had some problems and i have to die again"

"don't do it can your problems really be that bad?"

"yeah eating people bad"

"eating people as in like a zombie how nice" he joked

"yeah i'm not going to do it i should i don't want to hurt people but uhm- but it seem i hurt people even when i don't mean to" i let out a tear

"i doubt it you seem caring i mean the way you said your brothers name you clearly still care about him"

"of course i do he's my brother no matter what i may never completely forgive him but i love him and i'd die for him"

"see good person and you've never killed anyone me, my brother just about everyone i know we've all killed someone"

"you don't really strike me as the killer type"

"when your humanity is off you don't care about anything including someone's life"

"i wish i can just turn off my emotions"

"no you don't"

"to not feel all the pain i do yeah sounds good to me"

"it's not and you should go to sleep"

"yeah i'm actually really tired" i went to lay down

"what are you doing theirs rooms" he laughed

"no need for a room i'm not staying"

"you uhm could go to my room with me"

"mhm i could" i smiled

"sorry super forward"

"it's fine i don't want to look back" i kissed him

he kissed me back and we went up to his room. i woke up in the middle of the night he was asleep i went downstairs and grabbed another drink.

"i remember you" a voice said behind me

i jumped and dropped the glass breaking it.

"uhm hi damon"

"are you sleeping with my brother?"

"what no"

"really that's not what i heard about thirty minutes ago"

"uhm well i-"

"calm down no big deal" he laughs

"haha" i said sarcastically as i went to pick up the glass and cut my finger "ow"

"you alright?"

"yeah just cut my finger i don't suppose vampires have bandaids?"

"you know"

"yeah so do you have any bandaids?"

"no we don't but a little vamp blood never hurt"

"yeah i'm good rather deal with the pain than drink vampire blood again"

"sure little vamp blood and no more-"

"really i'm good thanks" i walked away

"hey" stefan said as i walked back in his room

"hi" i sat down

"damon?"

"yeah he's not as nice once you know he's a vampire"

"what'd he do?"

"i cut my finger he keep trying to get me to drink his blood"

"just ignore him he can be a bit much"

"yeah look i should go"

"why?"

"well the thing i was talking about earlier the hunger i'm feeling it's getting stronger and i don't want to hurt you"

"i'm a vampire if you do anything i'll heal"

"still i don't want to hurt you i don't care if you can heal i'll still feel bad"

"okay well i'll see you later"

"yeah later bye" i left and went back to kai

Kai saw me and jumped up and walked to me.

"your back i thought you left for good"

"i was with someone and the hunger is growing stronger you said you'd be able to bring me back?"

"yes promise" he smiled

"okay let's do this then, and this will make it where i can see my family and friends without them dying?"

"yeah"

"alright kill me then"

"mhm yeah"

he pulled out a knife

"can't you just do a spell or something"

"no magic complicates things"

"oh god" he walked to me and stabbed me

"ahh"

"sorry" he place me on the ground

I woke up in a dark place i couldn't see a thing i could hear a voice chanting it was kai.

"KAI" i shouted

i saw a bright light and i was being pulled away then someone grabbed me.

"who are you?"

"im lexi" the girl said

"where are we?" i questioned

"darkness it's where you go when you can't find peace"

"what was that light"

"your way out"

"why'd you keep me here then?"

"i know what you're doing you need to stay away from stefan"

"what you know stefan"

"i'm his best friend you need to stay away from him or else you'll never leave here"

"alright i'll leave him alone and by the way i left because i didn't want to hurt stefan"

"i know but once he finds out that you're with kai you'll just hurt him anyway if you stay away from him before he cares about you"

"got it no need to finish"

Kai's Pov:

"sarah come on wake up why isn't it working"

I started to chant the spell again i finished the spell and sarah woke up gasping for air.

"sarah thank god" he sighed in relief

"did it work"

"are you still hungry?"

"no i feel normal"

"it worked what happened to you while you were dead"

"nothing i was in the dark and i remember hearing your voice and i woke up"

"well i told you you'd be fine" i smiled

"thank you" she hugged me

i hesitated and then hugged her back "no problem"

Sarah's pov:

"sorry i doubted you" i keep hugging him

"you know you may be the only person i don't want to murder"

"that's sweet i think"

"i thought it was"

"it is" i kissed his cheek

"you can stay here from now on the wedding is coming up so all i need now is magic"

"wait if you siphon me am i going to be magic less"

"no you'll be weak but you'll still have your magic"

"okay alright, one more thing you aren't going to hurt stefan or damon are you?" i asked

"why do you care?"

"i uhm"

"you were with them weren't you"

"i was with stefan i just want to make sure that they aren't going to get hurt"

"emotionally they might physically no as long as they don't try anything"

"what's your plan anyway"

"well my sister is pregnant with twins and honestly i don't feel like competing with the future gemini"

"wait are you saying you're going to kill your sister and her unborn children?"

"so you can care for these people sarah but don't get in my way i mean it"

"yeah alright fine"

"good now i have something to do i'll be back" he leaves
