Chapter 39: Encounter

Nue's POV

"Nue, Naruto's here to see you and he brought some old guy." Iri called. I yawned before getting up from my bed and going to the living room. I've been isolating myself in my bedroom for a while now, just after the Hokage died.

I haven't been much in a happy mood and I was extremely tired during the day for some reason. Naruto, Kiba, and pretty much everyone has been trying to get me to come out, but I was too tired. I've been taking long naps. Almost too long.

By that, I mean, by the time I wake up from my naps, it's already nighttime. I walked into the living room as I was greeted by Naruto. "Hey, Nue-chan!" He said. "Hi. What's up?" I asked as I motioned them to sit on the couch.

"Pervy Sage and I were going to go train. Believe it! You wanna come?" Naruto asked. "Who's Pervy Sage?" I asked as I sat down across from them. "That would be me. But call me Jiraiya." A man with white hair said. I nodded my head, saying I understood while Misaki jumped in my lap.

"Thanks for the offer, Naruto. But I just want to stay home today." I said as I stroked Misaki's fur. "Come on, Nue-chan! It won't be any fun without you." Naruto whined. I realized my wings and tails were out. What concerned me was Jiraiya wasn't scared.

"Jiraiya-san, aren't you afraid of me?" I asked. "Nue, you think I'd be afraid of you just because you're different?" Jiraiya asked. "Yes. Normally, when people see my wings and tails, they either run away from me or avoid me. But that was when I was younger." I explained.

Jiraiya chuckled. "You need to start thinking outside the box, Nue." Jiraiya said. "Outside the box?" I repeated, my head tilted to the side in confusion. "Please, Nue-chan. Come with us. You'll feel better. I know you will." Naruto said.

"Yeah, Nue. You should go. You've been stuck in the house for nearly a week. Go out and get some fresh air." Iri cut in. "Maybe some other time." I said before yawning.. I was about to walk back to my room until Iri grabbed my arm.

"Oh no, you don't, Nue. Naruto's been trying to get you to go outside for days and all you do is reject him like a scorn puppy." Iri said. Iri was right on one point. Great, now I feel bad. How long has it been since I even talked to Naruto?

"Alright, I'll go." I gave in. "Yes! You won't regret, Nue-chan! I promise you! Believe it!" Naruto said, happily as he hugged me. "All right, kids. No time to celebrate. You need to go get packed." Jiraiya said. "Right. Be back in a sec." I said, then went to my room.

"I'm glad you're going with them Nue." Iri said as she helped me pack. "You're not coming?" I asked her. "Nah. I think I'm gonna do some training here with Maria." She said. I looked at her, then went back to packing.

After I was finished packing, I went back to the living room as Jiraiya and Naruto were waiting for me by the door. "I'll see you in a few days, Iri. Take care of Misaki for me." I said to my sister before walking over to Jiraiya and Naruto.

"Wait a minute. You're not taking Misaki? What about your insomnia?" Iri asked as she held the cat in her arms. "I don't think I'll need her. I'll be fine. Besides, I have Kiyoshi with me. Bye, Iri." I said. We headed out the door, off to do some training.

Yin Yang's POV

I watched from a lamp post as Nue walked with Naruto and a white haired man. It's only a matter of time until she remembers. I wonder if any more of her memories have returned. "Ne, ne, Nue-chan. What kind of jutsu do you think we'll learn?" Naruto asked her.

"Not sure. I'm hoping it's a lightning style technique." Nue told him. I noticed Nue was wearing was wearing her black cloak. It's a shame, really. The poor girl can't even remember her own clan symbol. She can't wear that forever. She has to learn to accept who she is, whether she likes it or not.

I turned my head to the side when I sensed danger. Two people wearing black cloaks with red clouds. They must be followed Nue and Naruto. I jumped down from the lamp post and walked behind Nue. She has no idea I'm following her.

We continued to walk until we reached a small town. "Naruto, Nue, we're gonna crash here for tonight." The white haired man said. "How come, Jiraiya-san?" Nue asked. "Yeah. We still have two legs that aren't broken." Naruto said.

The white haired man, who I'm assuming is Jiraiya, began to tell them not to question and just follow their sensei's orders. Naruto groaned and said, "Fine." I looked over and saw a woman staring at them. To make a long story short, Jiraiya ditched the two kids to be with the woman.

I followed the two kids into the hotel. "Man. That Pery Sage is just wasting our time." Naruto complained. Nue and Naruto were back to back, sitting cross-legged on a bed, both of them focusing on their chakra. I wonder if those cloaked people have found them yet.

Nue's POV

I sighed in boredom. "SSSSSomething wrong, Nue?" Kiyoshi asked. "No, I'm just really bored." I answered. I laid back on Naruto. "Hey, Naruto. What do you think of my wings and tails and be honest." I asked, quietly.

"I think they're cool, Nue-chan." Naruto answered. "You didn't tell them, did you?" I asked. Naruto gave me a confused look. "What do you mean?" He asked. "You didn't tell anyone about my "gift", right? You didn't tell Sasuke? Sakura? Kakashi-sensei?" I asked.

"No, I haven't. I promise."

"Good."

"Why don't you want them to know, Nue-chan?"

"Because... Because it's complicated. I know they're part of Team Kakashi. But I just don't think they're ready to know about them yet."

Naruto gave me a worried look. "It doesn't matter about what you are, Nue-chan. It's about who you are." Naruto said. I glanced at him, then smiled. "Thanks, Naruto. By the way, I think you'd be a great Hokage." I told him.

He grinned at me. "Thanks, Nue-chan." He thanked. We both turned our heads to the door when we heard a knock. "I'll get it." I informed. I hopped off the bed and went to go answer the door. I unlocked the door to reveal... Sasuke? No, it looked like Sasuke, but it wasn't him.

Though, he was a lot taller than him. He also had the Sharingan. Another Uchiha? "Who is it, Nue-chan?" Naruto asked me as walked up behind me. "Naruto, you're coming with us." The man said. "What the..? Who are these guys?" Naruto asked.

I began to step back until I felt my back hit Naruto's chest. "It's hard to believe that a child could hold the Nine-Tailed Fox." A guy who looked like a human fish said. I gulped. I do not like the way things are going right now.

"Naruto, I think we should go back inside the room." I said, tugging his arm. "Why don't we go for a walk?" The Sasuke look-alike suggested. Naruto hesitantly stepped outside the room as I was behind him, still holding his arm.

"It seems that this brat has a girlfriend." Fish Guy said. 'Girlfriend? Get real, buddy. We're just friends' I thought. But these guys looked scary. No, not scary. Terrifying! "Hey, Itachi. It would be a bother if these kids made a run for it. Maybe I should chop off a leg." Fish Guy said.

What?! He would actually let him do that, would he?! The guy known as Itachi stayed quiet. "Alright, then." Fish Guy began to walk towards us, making Naruto and I take steps back. I looked at the cloaks they were wearing and noticed they had red clouds on them.

Wait a second. Uncle Zabuza said people with black cloaks and red clouds were in my clan. My eyes widened in realization. It's them. The people who killed my clan. My fear was quickly replaced with anger. I stepped out from behind Naruto and got in front of him.

"Get out of the way, kid." Fish Guy said. "No." I said as I activated my kekkei genkai. "I won't let you harm him." I said as I spread my arms out in a protective way. "Nue, don't get involved. They're sssstronger than you." Kiyoshi said.

"I don't care. I won't let them hurt him." I said. "Nue-chan?" Naruto said. "Don't worry, Naruto. I promise, I will protect you." I said. I turned my head and gave him a reassuring smile, then turned my attention back to the cloaked people.

"It's been a long time. Sasuke." Itachi said. I looked at him, then looked past him as I saw Sasuke standing only a few feet away from us. "Itachi... Uchiha." Sasuke muttered. "Uchiha?" Naruto and I said at the same time. But I thought Sasuke was the only Uchiha?

Wait a minute. Could this be Sasuke's brother? Talk about a family reunion.
