Chapter 1 - Irresistible

Chapter 1

A year and a half had passed since Denmy arrived, and Niall's soulmate was nowhere to be seen. 

His hope was slowly diminishing and his temper was really short around the couples, which led them to all act extremely cautious around him. Everyone was worried for him and wanted his soulmate to arrive.

Every day, he would lock himself up in his room and just stare out his window. If a couple went hunting, he would turn his attention to his bare walls. He was getting weak and tired, until one day he had a strong feeling something good was going to happen and snapped out of his depressive state. 

He had expected to find her when he got back from hunting, but he was let down once again. He sadly walked back to the common room and looked at everyone, who felt his pain and tried to comfort him.

"Niall, maybe today isn-" Liam tried to speak.

"No! I was so sure she would be here today! I waited. I waited everyday for a year and a half and she still isn't here. I thought today was going to be the day I finally get my princess." Niall broke down, "It isn't fair! You all get to be happy and loved and then there's me."

"You aren't going to be forever alone Niall!" Liam tried to calm him down.

"Niall I sense-" Zayn spoke up, but didn't finish his sentence as Niall ran off to his room.

He slammed the door and slid down to the floor defeated. However, he smelt something unusually sweet. As he rose from the ground, his eyes met a sleeping figure on his bed. He slowly walked towards the bed and reached out to poke her arm.

"Okay, so I'm not dreaming." He muttered to himself with a smile.

Her long, dark brown hair was braided very messily, yet still made her look breathtaking. Her long eyelashes teased him and he couldn't help but wonder what color her eyes were. 

Everyday, for two and a half weeks, he would sit by his bedside and wait for her to open her eyes. Nothing else mattered to him. The boys had to drag him to go hunting and even then, she was constantly on his mind, which was ironic because he couldn't get into hers. 

It was like a Twilight movie, only vampires didn't shine. 

By three weeks, he was already feeling in love with her and was worried to death because of her late awakening.

"Niall, come and eat. She's not up yet." Harry knocked on the door.

"I'm good, I'll just-"

"For god sakes Niall, we're worried about you. She probably isn't going to wake up anytime soon, so might as well eat!"

Niall glanced over to Harry with hurt evident in his eyes and Harry instantly regretted saying that. 

Niall was there for him when Elide was still asleep and Harry was afraid that she wouldn't love him back. Niall was there for him and assured that she would love him just as much as he loved her and if that failed, the others would always be by his side. 

Everyone knew that the past few months were rough for Niall and that he just needed someone to connect with on an intimate level. 

Just as Niall was about to punch Harry, they heard the bed squeak. Amanda's figure slowly sat up as she rubbed her bright violet eyes and Niall was blown away.

"W-Where am I?" She yawned confused.

"It's a long story, but Niall here will fill in the details for you! Dinner's ready so don't be too long, you two." Harry winked and disappeared in thin air.

"Did he just-"

"Vanish? Yeah, he did." Niall nervously smiled. "Um, I-I'm Niall like he mentioned."

"I'm Amanda." She smiled back a little confused, "So uh, how did he vanish?"

"He's a vampire... Teleporting is his thing." He waited for her reaction.

"D-Did you just say vampire?"

"Yeah I did. You're one too, kinda."

"I am? How? Are you one too?"

"Everyone living in the house is babe, including me. You're our newest recruit, although you're just a half vampire. You...uh still need to complete the transformation." 

"There's others?" She mumbled, a bit frightened.

"I won't let anything hurt you! Besides, everyone's nice. You'll get along fine with the girls! Now cmon, let's go introduce you to everyone and get some food in you." He said, grabbing her hand.

The two instantly felt a spark and blushed, but did not let go of each other. As he carefully helped her out of bed, he waited until she was stable enough to stand on her own.

"Do you have a power like him? Can you also teleport?" She asked him, as they made their way down the stairs.

"No, I read minds."

"Oh wow. Does everyone have a power?"

"So far, yes."

She nodded, "Okay... So I must have one too, right?"

"Yeah, but it might take a while to find out what it is princess." He smiled at her.

She blushed, not really knowing how to respond or why she felt this strong connection to him. 

When the two finally made it to the dining room, she was mesmerized by the food and saw that every seat was taken but two. Niall slowly led her towards them and pulled one out for her, before sitting right beside her.

"Guys, this is Amanda." He introduced, while looking at her adoringly.

She mumbled an awkward 'hi' and smiled. They all returned her smile more confidently, but  comfortingly, before introducing themselves. 

As everyone dug in, she was still pretty confused and saw that Niall was filling both of their plates up.

"I thought vampires only drank blood..." She whispered to him.

Everyone laughed, including him.

"We do, but we also have the option of eating food to subdue the cravings of blood. You don't have to eat if you don't want to. However, we just prefer to because we're too lazy to go hunting all of the time and it makes us feel more normal." Lina laughed.

"Yeah, we could also drink whatever we want to subdue cravings. It won't help as much, but drinks laced with blood does the trick also! Other than that, we're practically human...minus the thirst for blood part and a couple of superhuman abilities." Michelle added.

"Wow." Amanda gaped.

"It's okay, new girl. You'll get used to it." Elide winked.

She nodded and proceeded on eating her food. When she finished, a cup was placed in front of her and she took a sip. It tasted different and weird.

"That's blood." Denmy stated, "It's a special occasion and you kind of need it more since you've just awaken."

She nodded and tried to finished her cup.

After dinner, she was led into the common room. Everyone was involved in a conversation about aliens, when suddenly Amanda froze. 

Everyone immediately stopped talking and began to worry. It wasn't until she returned back to normal and was out of breathe before they let out a collective sigh of relief.

"Someone's going to attack." She blurted out, "There's a lot of them."
