I freeze in place. Not able to tell the boys I can't sense Shirai within the brick ball. They all seem to click and a collection of voices yell, "FOR FUCK SAKE"

We scatter. Lady and Trish go outside, Nero, Dante and Vergil check downstairs and V and I go up.

V goes to check the rest of the floor and I head straight into the study. "V! The gate is still open" if it's open Shirai definitely isn't dead and may be gaining strength from the gate.

"We need to close it and quickly!" V pants as he comes to my side, Griffon and Shadow are swiftly summoned and prepare to defend us.

I raise an elixir plant and have it attach to V's arm. This way he can use each of the sealing spells he knows without running out of power and I can keep him safe with my magic if need be.

"That's it, I have no other sealing spells strong enough to be theroetically able to seal the portal. I can't close it." V turns to me, defeat clear on his face, mixed with fear and panic. He doesn't know what to do. I put a hand on his arm and kiss him gently. He'd tried his hardest for the past 3 hours to seal the portal and even with my elixir plant, he was losing strength. I summon another and tell him to rest as I turn to look at the portal.

"I have an idea. Griffon, shadow, stay out of the room if you can please." Griffon looks at me but then grabs V and hauls him to the door. I erect a barrier around him. This way the door is blocked and V is safe.

I hope this works. "With thyne blood from enchanted hand, I seal Thy portal, block thee from thy land." I slice my hand with the dagger I still had from Nico, I'd forgotten about it until this point and was glad to find it still in my sleeve.

My blood runs freely into the centre of the portal, hissing and smoking as it lands on the lighted floor. As the wound heals and the blood slows, I realise that the portal is shrinking and as the wound closes completely and the blood stops flowing the portal crackles for a final time and then disappears.

"Well done Mel" V kisses me passionately as he rubs my hand with a piece of cloth to get rid of the blood. "I'm so proud of how far you've come in your powers in such a short period of time, and all on your own no less."

I smile at his comment and kiss him again. Beginning gently but building in intensity. I moan as his arm slips up my top and begins rubbing my breast.
