< Mnet Asian Music Awards: MAMA > in Japan.

Yeong POV

Today was the day we all idols were waiting for. We all practiced a whole month for this day. Today was MAMA day. I arrived Japan around midnight yesterday. I directly came to hotel and rested for today.

Right now I am getting ready for my MAMA red carpet. This year, I am given the shimmering black dress with matching black heels. My dress was hung at the back near wall as I was sitting infront of mirror while hair stylist, makeup artist and nail tech surrounded me. Nail tech was sitting infront of me and doing my nails. Hair stylist were styling my hair on wavy and also attached few glitter highlights. Makeup artist was done with my makeup. It was a simple natural makeup with grey lens & nude peach lips.

After sometime, nail tech was done with my nails. She gave me medium square shaped nude nails & painted with black glitter. My hair was all set too and now all I have to do is wear my dress and I am ready to go. After thanking makeup artist, hair stylist & nail tech, they left the room after bowing at me. I stood up and walked towards my dress which was hang on the wall. I grabbed the dress and walked inside the closet to change my dress.

After I changed into dress and wore black heels, I walked towards mirror and looked at myself.

I smiled in satisfaction and then sat down on chair infront of mirror and took some selfies to post on Inst*gram later. Just then, I got a text from Niki.

,,Hey Yeong, we are on our way to stadium. See you at the backstage" His text said.

,,I am waiting for my manager to pick me up & I'll be there too. See you in backstage" I replied to his text.

In past month when me and Niki were practicing for our collab stage. I got to meet everyone from Enhypen. They all are very caring and kind. I am close with Heesung oppa cause he make sure I am eating on time and is resting. He is like another version of Yeonjunie. I also talked with Jungwon, he have became more comfortable with me than before. We talk casually and we are good friends but I always make sure not to make it obvious about my crush on him. I am also close with Jake, he's a sweetest human you'll ever meet. We talk in English most of the time. And ofc Niki, me and Niki are almost like a best friend now. We both talk casually too, we tease each other. I feel comfortable sharing my things with Niki. He is like a younger brother and a best friend to me. Others are sweet too. I am good friends with Jay oppa, Sunghoon oppa & Sunoo oppa too.

Just then, there was soft knock on my door. I opened the door and saw my manager standing there wearing black suit.

"You look beautiful as always Yeong" He said with soft fatherly smile.

"Thank you oppa" I smiled back at him.

"If you're ready, we should leave now. As stadium is just 15 mins away from here. We'll be just in time" He said and smiled widely.

After I nodded, we both started walking out of my room & walked towards elevator. We hopped inside black van waiting for me and then drove towards the stadium where MAMA is held. I took out my phone and then texted Yeonjun.

,,Yahh Yeonjunie, where are you?"

,,Don't yahh me. You spoiled brat 😂 and we are already at the stadium. Where are you?" He replied almost right away.

,,🙄 I am on my way there. I'll arrive in 15 mins"

,,😂 Okay then. See you in a bit sis" he said.

,,Sure bro ♡" I replied and put my phone away.

"so Yeong, after your appearance in red carpet. You will directly go backstage to prepare for the opening performance. You'll have around 40 mins before the award show begins so you have to get ready by then. After the performance, you'll go to your table inside the stadium and enjoy others performance until your solo stage" my manager explained me with soft smile in his face.

"Roger that" I smiled widely and looked outside the window.

After 10 more mins, we arrived at the red carpet. I can see many fans were outside. Many cameras were flashing, cheering & shouting filled the air. Three of the bodyguards came outside our van and opened the door for me. I took a deep breath and stepped outside.

As soon as i stepped outside with huge smile plastered on my face, cameras started shuttering & fans started screaming my name & saying how much they love me. I can't help but smile at them and waved at them. One of the staff, guided me towards the place where photos are taken. So I stood there with wide smile and posed for the cameras. Fans kept cheering and screaming my name making me giggled softly as I wave at them. I made sure to make eye contact with as many cameras as I could.

After clicking pictures, I was lead towards the interviewing area. As I walked towards the MC, she gave me sweet smile which I returned.

"We have the most beautiful girl, Choi Yeong. Beauty runs in gens here" She giggled softly & fans screamed loudly.

I smiled shyly and stood beside her facing the cameras and fans.

"Please introduce yourself young lady" MC said with wide smile.

"Hello everyone, I am Choi Yeong" I said with soft smile and waved at the fans who cheered loudly.

"How are you feeling today, Yeong-sii?" MC asked.

"I am very excited and happy today & also I wanna thank MAMA for inviting me this year as every year" I chuckled softly as fans smiled too.

"Whose performance are you most excited to see?" MC asked with smile.

"Well um- I am excited for the opening song performance this year" I giggled knowingly.

"Why opening song?" MC asked in curious tone.

"You'll have to wait and see as they are my favorites" I giggled making my fans screamed loudly.

At this point, everyone was excited for the opening performance. This collab stage is surprise for everyone after all. Fans doesn't know me and Niki are performing for opening song. After short interview there, I thanked the MC & fans then I was lead inside the stadium and was directly taken to backstage waiting room to prepare for the performance.

As soon as i entered my waiting room. I saw Iced Americano was already ready on table so I took a sip from it & sat down on couch. I grabbed my phone and called Niki to ask him if he was ready for the performance. After few rings, he picked up the call.

,,You arrived?" He asked in Japanese.

,,Yeah I am at the waiting room. Where are you? Are you already ready?" I asked in Japanese too.

,,I am at our waiting room alone as hyungs already went inside the stadium. I'm gonna start getting ready in a bit" Niki replied.

,,Okay then be ready and meet me at my waiting room. Let's practice our vocals last time before we perform officially" I said with soft tone.

,,Okay then I'll see in 15/20 mins" He replied softly.

After we hung up, I saw my manager walking inside my waiting room with few other staffs beside him.

"Yeong, we're gonna shoot behind the scenes of both you and Niki. Right now, they are gonna take solo shots of both you and Niki. This shoot will continue until you guys climb up the stage for your performance so stay professional" my manager said.

"Oh okay oppa, when are they gonna start shooting?" I asked him softly.

"Few cameras are gonna entered here in few minutes and shoot will start but as always act like cameras aren't there" my manager said and bring out my stage outfits. "This is your stage outfits. But first makeup artist will do some touchup on your makeup" he added.

I nodded and sat down infront of mirror as makeup artist started doing some touchup and changing my lipstick color into gloosy red & also changed my lens into hazel. I just stayed there watching my reflection when hair stylist was styling my hair. Just then, cameras walked inside and shoot started. They started shooting me from every angle possible and I stayed professional and acted as cameras aren't there and just kept on looking at my reflection.

"And done" my hair stylist said & I looked at my hair nicely done.

It was on high Ariana ponytail with some hair extentions  added making it look thicker. There was some hair jewelries decorated as well. Overall, my hair looked amazing.

Stylists touched up my hair and then i was all done for the performance so I grabbed my stage outfits and went inside changing room to change.

After changing I walked outside and looked at my reflection in mirror.

I smiled in satisfaction & I sat down on couch and started practicing my vocals while waiting for Niki & sipping my coffee.

Niki POV

After my manager told me that they are gonna shoot behind the scene cam before our stage. I sat down on chair as hair stylist & makeup artist started doing my hair and makeup. Just then, few staffs with cameramans walked inside and started taking shots from every different angle but I just stayed calm and then practice my vocals looking at the reflection. After sometime, my hair and makeup was done so I went inside to wear my stage outfits. After wearing my stage outfits, I came outside and looked myself in mirror.

I was ready and then i stood up straight as staffs were attaching mic on me. Cameras are still focused on me from different angle as I was practicing my vocals.

"Niki-sii, Yeong-sii is ready too. And you guys have 10 more minutes before your stage performance so you can go and practice together for a while" one of the staff told him.

Niki nodded politely and started walking outside his waiting room as cameras followed him.

Jungwon POV

We all were already inside the stadium in our table except Niki. We sat down on chairs and looked around with smile on our faces as there were many fans waiting for award show to begin and everyone was cheering for their idols. I looked around the stadium and saw many Engenes holding our banners and cheering for us so I waved at them with soft smile.

I was just staring at the stage infront of us. I am excited to watch Niki's & Yeong's performance. Even though they didn't show us the whole choreography, I can tell they are gonna burn the stage with their performance.

Just then, TXT walked pass us and we happily greet them and they greet us back. My eyes caught her brother, it's true that fans says, their features are similar. I smiled unknowingly remembering her smile. Yeonjun hyung looked back at me with smile and then gave me thumbs up as he walked towards their table which was few chairs away. We sat back down on our table & then two MCs climb up the stage indicating that show is about to start. We all sat straight and looked at both of the MCs.

Just few more minutes and they'll be on stage performing their collab song which they practiced for almost a month. I thought to myself.

Yeong POV

As me and Niki sat beside each other practicing our vocals. We can hear that award show has started. As many cameras surrounded us so we stayed professional.

"Guys, 5 more mins and you're up in the stage" one of staff informed us and we both stood up right away.

We started doing our final touch up & checked our mic too. After everything was perfect. We both started walking outside my waiting room & went backstage. Cameras were still following us that's also the reason we barely talked & was staying professional and in distance to avoid any dating scandals. Just then, we heard MC announced:

"Our first opening song of this year is performed by our most talented dancers and also the unexpected collab which fans most waited. Please welcome our talented duo" MC announced and fans started cheering loudly.

"This is it. Let's give it all" I whispered to Niki and then did fist bump.

"Let's enjoy our performance as we did on our all the practices" Niki replied with a smile.

I nodded and started walking towards the stairs which lead me towards stage. I went and stood on my position. Stage was dark so I know no one can see me yet.

"Don't be nervous Yeong. You got this" I thought to myself as I stayed in my position.
