Part 13
11:41, 19 March 2021The princesses Bow and Seahawk made their way past horde guards as they snuck into the horde encampment. Once inside Adora pulled her team into a empty storage unit.
"Catra is most likely in Shadow Weavers room. But if we want to end this war, we need a team to take out Hordak." Adora stated.
Glimmer straightened determinately. "I can lead the strike on Hordak."
Adora sent Glimmer a reassuring smile. "Alright, Glimmer you take Mermista Seahawk and Perfuma to Hordak's lab."
"But that only leaves Bow and Frosta for the Shadow Weaver team." Glimmer protested.
"I'll have you know I am also here." Swift Wind proclaimed from behind the group. Glimmer stared at Swiftwind for a moment before turning back to Adora.
"My previous statement still stands."
"You'll need more people to take Hordak down." Adora reasoned. Just as Glimmer was about to open her mouth to refute Adora's claim the sound of footsteps echoed in the hallway. Everyone froze as the footsteps and voices drew closer and closer to the door of the storage room.
"I'll set it down in here." A voice said. The silver handle of the storage room creaked open. A blonde boy turned to face the princesses and allies. As He stared gaping at them he dropped the box he was carrying, shocking him into action.
"Uh- You- oh god um. Stay back!" He yelled, pulling a price of metal from the box.
"Kyle?" Adora questioned.
"Hey Kyle." A voice called. "Are you okay in there?"
"Kyle." Adora stepped forward. "We just want to help."
"Um." Kyle looked around nervously.
"Kyle?" The voice from outside called again. "Kyle I'm coming in, don't be dead."
The door burst open to reveal a short brown haired girl with a tall lizard person standing behind her.
"Oh my god." She looked at the intruders. "It's the defector, Kyle open a comm to Shadow Weaver."
"Wait! Lonnie." Adora called nervously.
"Wait for what, you to leave again? Not happening." Lonnie crossed her arms. "Kyle, now."
Kyle hesitated and fumbled with his communicator.
"Lonnie, I didn't mean to leave you guys behind the way I did." Adora said sadly. "I care for you guys a lot, you were my family while I grew up here."
"It doesn't matter what you think of us, you still left us to clean up after your mess." Lonnie scoffed.
Kyle didn't move to press his communicator.
"Why are you even fighting for the horde?" Adora asked.
"They took care of me, they took care of you too." Lonnie replied.
"They hurt innocent people." Adora's argued.
"Well no one has ever defected and lived before you decided to." Lonnie quipped. "I didn't exactly want to die. I don't have the same special treatment you got from Shadow Weaver. That's why you managed to live."
Adora rubbed her arm awkwardly. "I didn't think about that."
Lonnie rolled her eyes, "Of course you didn't. You only have one brain cell knocking around in your thick skull. Like that one time Catra convinced you she could communicate with animals."
Adora let out a small laugh and Lonnie cracked a smile.
"I'm sorry I let things get so messed up between us, I want to do better but first I need to take down the horde and save Catra." Adora squared her shoulders. "And If you want, you can help us make a better future."
Lonnie studied Adora for a moment before turning to Kyle and Rogelio. They had a silent conversation before Lonnie turned back to face Adora and her team.
"What do you need us to do?" Lonnie asked.
Adora smiled. "We need to get to Hordak's lab and shadow weavers room undetected.
Lonnie nodded thoughtfully. Her eyes scanned the room and landed on a pile of large crates.
"I have an idea." Her eyes sparked.
——————————————————————————————————————
"This is not what I had in mind." Sea Hawks voice muffled voice called from inside a crate.
"Mine eith- perfuma move your leg or so help me." Came Glimmers voice from another crate.
"It's only for a few minutes." Adora's said cheerfully. "You can do it"
"Easy for you to say, you have a kid, I have a flying horse." Bow sighed from a crate. Adora eyed Frosta who was sat in a corner of their crate. Frosta caught her eye and sent Adora a death glare. She drew an invisible line between them.
"Cross this line. I'll kill you." Frosta whispered.
Adora nodded nervously as the crates started to move. Lonnie and Kyle were pushing Her team to Shadow Weaver. Rogelio Was taking Glimmers team to Hordak.
Adora only got more nervous the closer they got. She could see through the crates tiny slivers in the sides. She caught sight of Shadow Weavers room and she took a deep breath. Lonnie stopped the cart and whispered to adora.
"We're here." She said quietly. She opened the crate and Kyle opens the other one. Adora, Frosta, Bow and Swiftwind came tumbling out. Lonnie and Kyle lined up outside the door to Shadow Weavers room and everyone else followed suit. Noises could be heard inside but they were to muffled to make out. Adora desperately hoped neither shadow weaver or Catra were dead yet.
Lonnie nodded her head in the direction of the door and they burst through the entry. The scene they stumbled into was Catra and Shadow Weaver having a meal. Adora stopped in her tracks. Catra and Shadow Weaver had just raised a toast, and Shadow Weaver was raising the glass to her lips when she stopped. Catra grit her teeth
"What is the meaning of this." Shadow Weaver demanded.
"Well you kind of kidnapped my girlfriend and you're a war criminal." Adora responded.
Shadow weaver sneered at the word girlfriend. "Your favorite pet turned girlfriend."
Adora took a step back.
"Come." Shadow Weaver gestured to the open seats. "Have dinner with us."
No one moved to sit down and Shadow Weaver sighed. She snapped her fingers and dark shadows pulled each of them into a seat.
"Adora it's been so drab without you around, I'm glad you've come back to us." shadow weaver said happily. "I'm afraid I don't quite agree with some of the choices you've made while away but I will take care of everything for you."
Catra coughed.
"Let's have a toast to family." Shadow Weaver suggested. "To family." She raised her glass and everyone stayed still again. Shadow weaver swirled her glass and took a sip.
Adora spared a glance at Catra to see her looking right back at her with a grin. Adora cocked her head, confused. Catra switched her gaze to Shadow Weaver as she took another sip. And then Adora realized, this was how Catra had planned to kill Shadow Weaver. A mounting horror built in her chest. It was a solid plan. Shadow Weaver outmatched Catra with her magic, but she would never see poison coming.
Shadow weaver made a hacking noise.
"Pardon me, I don't think this beverage is agreeing with my stomach." Shadow Weaver said. She stood up to leave, but as she got up she began to sway. Adora and her team watched Shadow Weaver is shock. She swayed for a few more seconds before tripping backwards over her chair and falling to her back dead.
No one moved for 10 seconds. Catra was the first to break the silence, "good riddance." She laughed.
"I can't believe you killed her, oh my god." Bow said quietly.
Adora got up and checked Shadow Weaver's pulse. "She's dead."
"We gathered." said Lonnie.
"Come on." Catra said smiling "today's a day to celebrate."
"We are going to talk about this so much when we get home." Adora's said to Catra. "But for now we need to go help our friends with Hordak."
Together they raced out of the room to rush to Hordak's lab. They were no longer concerned with stealth now that they had left Shadow Weavers corpse in her room. As they raced into the lab, ready to fight, they were met with Entrapta telling Glimmer that Hordak was a soft flower and Scorpia arm wrestling Sea Hawk.
"Why can't we just fight normally." Lonnie complained.
Glimmer turned at the sound of Lonnies voice.
"Oh thank god." She sighed . "Entrapta says we can't fight Hordak because we're gonna mess up her experiment of love."
"What the fuck." Lonnie breathed.
"Hordak is just misunderstood, and needs companionship." Entrapta supplied.
Hordak looked around nervously.
"Hordak, are you going to take over the planet?" Entrapta asked Hordak.
"I won't because I don't need the validation of my clone father to be a successful and happy individual." Hordak recited.
"Yayyy. See!" Entrapta clapped.
Adora took a long inward breath. "Catra. Let's go home." She interlaced her fingers with Catra's.
"Sounds good." Catra agreed.
