Chapter 74

Sonic's POV

I lazily sat on our couch. I'm feeling a little lonely and tired. I sighed and looked at the door, suddenly remembering something

Is Shadow's father really going home? Then, why the sudden? Right? As what I know, Mr. Doom was supposedly going home after his two months. What urged him to go here? I wonder. Perhaps something important? But what?

I felt a strange nervousness on my chest. Could it be....

No. Perhaps not. What am I thinking? I looked at my phone. The camera's lens flashed. I flinched in surprised. I blinked twice. I'm sure, I saw it. Whoever hacked through my phone, they're watching me right now. I shivered. Tomorrow, I'll buy my new phone

I wonder how's mom and dad doing now? How can I tell them? About me and Shadow? Are they going to be angry? I frowned

I heard a knock on the door. I jumped slightly. I chuckled on myself. Why am I so jumpy today? I sighed before I stood and open the door

"Hi"

Was the first thing I heard from Shadow when I opened the door

I smiled

"Shadow!"I hugged him

I miss him so much. Even though it's just hours I didn't see him

He chuckled

"You miss me that much?"He teasingly grinned

"Of course!"I blushed

"I... I feel lonely here without you"I admitted

"So sweet"He laughed

"Come on!"I playfully punched his arm

"Alright, alright. I missed you too okay?"He smiled and hugged back

"Where are they?"He asked

"Tails slept early. Mephiles is on his room. Knuckles told me he was going on a date"

"A date?! I never knew that grumpy echidna could get a girl"

"Don't be conceited"I frowned

"Alright, just kidding around!"

He sat on the couch before taking his off his pair of shoes. I know, he too, is dreading of the outcome when his father will know our relationship on each other. He's tired on all of this. But, he stayed strong for me. But I know him...

"Shadow?"

"Hm?"

"Whatever happens, I won't leave you"

"Hey, you stole my line"He grinned

I just laughed

"Even if tomorrow will be a bad day for us, the next day, we should be happy. I'm sure, it's something we should be happy"He said, looking at my phone

I looked at myself on the mirror, before turning my gaze back to my wristwatch. Today's, the day of Mr. Doom's arrival. I looked at Shadow, whom is fixing his quills. I can see he is tense too

Time Skip

Once we entered, I can already see so many decorations. Students gathering on the stage. To my surprise, I saw one of them is Fiona in a group of girls. Somehow... It's strange

I shook my head and continued walking. Teachers are wearing formal attires. While students, still on their uniform. Obviously, this was a sudden so, it was really that of a mess. But some students are also wearing formal attires. I just walked forward on our room. On our room, everyone's wearing their uniforms

"Sonic, I'll go to the principal's office"He waved his hand before walking away

I nodded

"I wonder how will be Mr. Doom's arrival?"

"It'll be so doomed!"A student joked around

Everyone else in the room laughed at the joke, including me. Suddenly, one of our classmates with panicking face came up to us

"Mr. Doom's here!"He exclaimed

"Yo, does he really want to go home that badly?"Knuckles raised a brow

"Dunno. But as what we all know, he'll arrive at 12 PM right?"

"Guess what to? He looks kinda mad and he's face telling he needs to tell something right now!"

Narrator's POV

"It's fine. It's fine. Really. I understand. I'm sorry too, for such an unexpected event to happen"Doom sighed

"It's kinda late. You should go home as well" Doom pat the principal in the shoulder

"Thank you, sir"He nodded right away

"So... Why so sudden? Why are you so eager to see me?" said Shadow, his arms crossed and brows furrowed, his face clearly showing displease

Doom turned to look at his son with a disgusted expression, and disappointment in his eyes. Shadow clenched his fist

"Why are you looking at me that way? "

"I should be the one asking you that, Shadow. Show some respect"Doom sneered

"Respect? Tch. Like hell. I don't even know if you're still my father. And I don't know if I'm even your son. You act as if I'm one of your employees at work"Shadow glared

"Now. Answer me, dad. Why were you so eager to go back home when you're talking to the principal at phone"Shadow leaned at the door

"I have been informed about something terrible. Clearly, disappointing, disgusting, and displeasing. And yes, it's about you"Doom returned the glare

Shadow didn't budge a movement, his somehow telling him it's something he should be careful not to reveal in public. With that said, Shadow became anxious. But he manage to keep a straight face despite what he's thinking and feeling

"Get straight to the point"said Shadow

"You're in relationship with that blue runt?"His father growled

It's more like a statement, than a question. Shadow's eyes widened. How... When, and who told him that? Despite that, he scowled

"Who told you that? How dare you call him a runt. You're the one who should be telling that to yourself. Why do you care anyway? You're always in your goddamn business right? You don't have rights to tell me what should I do and not. That's what you're showing me when I was younger, right? Telling me not to interfere with your business. Because I'm an annoyance and an interruption to your work. And now this? Just what the fuck are you thinking? Leading me to your own path?"Shadow screamed

"The reason why I was gone for a almost a month is because I want you to marry with a woman. It's a daughter from one of a company, like us. And I promised you to be marrying her. I just fixed the documents and it's all settled. And now, when I was informed about you having a relationship with a runt, I was furious and do my best to get here as soon as possible!"

"What? You want to marry me to someone I don't fucking know?! You're insane! You don't even know who the fuck is she too. Letting me marry for someone I don't love. What kind of a father are you? You're a pathetic excuse of a father!"

"Silence! I only do what is the best for you. To lead you to a path where your life is right. Not to the path where you're living with regrets"

"Firstly, what kind of an excuse is that? Such nonsense! I'm only going to live a miserable life living with someone I don't love. Secondly, I didn't regret loving Sonic. He loves me, I love him. And I'm fucking contented with that"

"Enough of this! What I said is all now settled. You, are marrying Rebecca after. She will arrive after 2 weeks. And within that two weeks, you both are getting married. Whether you like it or not!"
