Chapter 23 - Anastasia

19:30, 28 July 2025

Harvey arrived in Seattle two hours ago. He came by to pick me up from my shift, but I had to stay longer that expected for an emergency so I gave him the second keys to the house and told him to wait for me there.

We've been texting back and forth all week and I've missed him more than ever. That's why I drop everything as soon as I open the front and run to him. He catches me immediately and kisses me. I wrap my legs around him and he pins me to the wall with his body for stability.

His fingers are in my hair. His lips work over mine, the perfect mix of soft and hard. His tongue swipes across mine, and I whimper. He coaxes me into it, makes me want more. More of this. More of him. More of this feeling.

He pushes his thigh between my legs. He kisses me roughly now, and I kiss him back just as hard. My fingers grip his suit jacket, fisting the fabric and tugging him closer.

I want him so much closer. He smells like whiskey, and spice. I want to dive headfirst into a pool of that scent.

I grind against his thigh, not caring if it makes me seem desperate. My pussy throbs against his thigh.

"Fuck, Ana..." he whispers, driving me even more needy. I want to make him feel good and moan my name again like that all night.

"I fucking missed you" he says as his lips move down my neck.

It's so good to feel so desired again. "Show me how much you missed me" I smirk.

Without a second to waste, Harvey takes me from the wall and slams my back on the nearest surface; the kitchen counter.

He pulls away. I prompt myself up on my elbows to watch him. He stands above me as he takes his tie off and undoes the first couple of buttons of his white shirt. He leans down for a moment and kisses my lips softly. With his lips, he pushes me back until I lay down.

His fingers have just sneaked their way inside of my waistband when the doorbell rings.

We freeze.

I hear Harvey groan from inside his chest. Just as we think we should just ignore them and keep going, they ring again.

I sigh and push myself off the counter. "Hey, where do you think you're going?" Harvey asks

"To answer the door"

"By yourself? It's 11pm"

"I'm not Superman now?".

They ring the doorbell again.

"Let me get it" he says

"Absolutely not. This is my apartment. Sort of..."

"Sort of?" he asks

"It's still Matt's place. He's just letting me stay here until I figure something out because he knows I don't have anywhere else to go"

"Right, I forgot..." he rolls his eyes, grossed out.

They ring again.

He grabs my arm. "I'm still not letting you open that door by yourself" he insists

"It's fine. It is definitely a woman on the other side of the door. I can handle her" I walk passed him

"How do you know that?"

"Because men are impatient and emotional. If it was a man, he'd already be banging at the door and calling names" I explain

"Not more emotional that women" he argues

"Too emotional" I insist.

I look through the peephole first, and my stomach sinks. "Oh, shit. It's Dory!" I whisper-yell

"The fish?" he asks

"Yeah, she is looking for Nemo. Seen him recently?" I answer ironically, "Are you stupid? It's Judge Dory Atkins"

"Oh, shit!"

"She can't find you here"

"Yeah, especially now with the CM lawsuit hanging over my head"

"The what?"

"Forget it. I'll just lock myself in the bedroom"

"And what if Matt sent her to pick up some of his things?"

"He brought her from New York to sent her here?" he points out

"I don't know. God...".

She rings the doorbell again.

"She's insistent" Harvey chuckles

"You don't become the youngest female judge in New York without that trait" I remind him. "I'll just grab my things and meet her out the door, tell her I was on my way out. I'm still in my scrubs anyway. You sit here and wait. I'll be back as soon as I get rid of her" I say, kiss him quickly, grab the things I threw on the floor earlier and head for the door before he responds.

I open the door and step out before Dory could see inside. "Dory! Hi. I'm sorry, I was in the shower and got called in for an emergency. Do you mind coming back another time?" I ask

"I won't keep you busy for too long" she smiles

"Ok, sure" I reply as I stand there. "Is everything ok with Matt?" I wonder, assuming that's why she is here

"He says he is ok. But he didn't even tell me about your separation. I had to learn it from your father" she reveals.

I'll kill him.

"I think you should talk with Matt before coming to me" I admit

"No need to. I'm here to give you this" she hands me a paper envelope.

I read over the document inside, "An eviction notice?" I chuckle, "I'm sorry, I think you really need to talk with Matt" I insist

"I don't. This house is in his name, and you have no business staying in it now. Let alone bringing other people" she points at the door with her head.

"Matt and I have come to an agreement--"

"Say what you will. A written document is more powerful than a verbal agreement in court. I have just served you the notice, and you have 30 days to get out" she informs me.

"Dory--"

"Save it. Give Mr. Specter my regards" she smiles and walks away.

I go back inside and slam the door closed. Harvey runs worried from the bedroom.

"What did you do?" I demand

"Nothing that I recall" he answers.

"Did you tell Daniel about where you were headed to when you ran into him in the airport last week?" I wonder

"It wasn't straight forward way... I may have insinuated something about coming to see you..." he mentions

"And...?" I push

"I definitely rubbed it in his face afterwards" he admits, avoiding eye contact.

"Amazing" I say ironically, "Now you can find me a new place to live" I toss the paper to him

"What is this?" he asks as he reads over it too

"You told Daniel you were here, he told Dory and now she is kicking me out" I explain. "Hardman is kicking me out of my house again..." a sad smile forms on my face.

"Hey, hey..." Harvey wraps his arms around me immediately, "I'll figure it out" he tells me

"You?" I ask surprised

"Yes. I caused this, I'll fix it. You don't have to worry about anything, ok? I'll have a plan for you three weeks tops" he reassures me

"Thank you" I breathe out as I relax against his chest.

"Just keep swimming" he says

"You're a child" I reply pissed, as I try to pull away from him

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry" he laughs as he fights my resistance and keeps me in his hold. "Maybe you can move back to New York" he suggests

"What?!"

"Nothing. Forget it. I didn't say anything" he retracts quickly. "I'll figure it out".
