Chapter 2: Calling Khun Faye

Third Person's POV:

Marissa closed the door, she took out her cellphone and dialed Faye's number. She put the phone in her ear and she can hear it ringing.

As Faye instructing the engineer in her work at the palace garden, her phone vibrates in her pocket. She took it out and saw in the screen: "The Crown Princess," it says.

"Sorry, but I'm gonna have to answer this first, it's the crown princess." She said, as she cut the conversation she had with the engineer.

Faye distance herself a bit, and answer the call: "Hello? Your highness?" She asked in a polite voice.

"Thank god you immediately answered." Marissa was joyful, but she lowered her voice, so no one would hear her, especially the sleeping Yoko inside the room.

"What is it that her highness need, that she called Faye?" Faye.

"Khun Faye, can you come here in the hospital to visit my P'Yoko?" Marissa normally asked, and Faye think about it for a second, and reluctantly said, "sure, your highness. By the way, how's Yoko?" Faye asked, in a normal tone of voice that seems hesitant to asked.

"Well, she's fine. Her test results does not find any serious fatal head injuries," Marissa answered,

Faye sighed, "when do her highness wants me to visit lady Yoko?"

"I would prefer it to be now, Khun Faye." Marissa said, and it stresses Faye, but doesn't even dare to complain or reject the offer.

"Of course, your highness, what hospital and room number?" Faye asked, as she stopped her voice from cracking.

"In the Lertprasert Royal Hospital, in the royal floor, the first room." Marissa instructed her very well, and Faye nodded, "Copy that, your highness, I'll be there, just give me a minute." Faye uttered, "I will be waiting for your arrival, Khun Faye." Marissa was excited as she hung up the phone.

The demand makes Faye to be in a stressed thinking, she didn't even dare to reject the young crown princess of the country. So she took some of her things and keep it in her brown leather briefcase bag.

"Khun Faye, where are you going?" The engineer asked her, "well, the crown princess invited me in the L.R.H., although the term 'invite' is not the right word to use, I'll just tell you that way so it wouldn't sound impolite." Faye said, as she kept what she needed, then go out of the garden. She open her car, and immediately rode off the road to follow the crown princess' order.

A few minutes, Faye arrived at the hospital. She took the elevator and pressed the button with a crown sign, it indicates the floor is only for royals and no one can enter it without permission.

The elevator took her in the desired floor, and opens the door for her. Then guards saw her and was about to stop her, but she show them her ID, "my name is Faye Peraya Malisorn, eldest daughter of the honorable prime minister Som Malisorn." She identified herself, and the guards was terrified, "sorry, Khun Faye."

"You guys are new here?" She asked, and the two guards nodded.

Faye ignored them, and enter the joyless and cold hallway. Faye felt it that way, it is because the floor was only reserved for royals and other higher government officials like her father, therefore, it is lifeless, for no civilians are allowed to enter without a permission.

Faye was in the front of the first room, she is reluctant to knock, because she doesn't really wanna be there in the first place. But as she was about to open the door, Marissa opened it first and saw her.

"Oh, Khun Faye."

"Your highness— Ahm, w-what—"

"Come in," Marissa let her enter, Faye saw Yoko sleeping in the bed so soundly, while the bandage in her head is clear and can be seen by anyone.

"So the reason why I called you is because my cousin, P'Yoko wanted to see you." Marissa explained, Faye showed a force smile.

As she take a step towards Yoko, she is hesitant, as she remembered that past 3 weeks before the incident happened, Yoko confessed to Faye.

Flashback:

"P'Faye, I love you." Yoko said, with a voice that is tender, but the face is clearly serious. Faye thought to herself that maybe Yoko is only joking, so she scoffed it off and nodded, trying to let her understand.

"Yoko, I love you too, but only as my younger sister. You know that I love your older sister, Lux. And I valued you as my younger sister." Faye said, with a smile in her face, and a gentle voice. But Yoko hugged her tight,

Faye was shocked by the sudden action, "please don't leave me. I'm begging you, P'Faye!" She said, and suddenly, Faye felt uncomfortable to her behavior, that she had to limit her strength, and pushed Yoko in a gentle way.

"Yoko, please. There is a significant issue about our age gap, and you knew how I love your older sister. Stop making things difficult for me, because if you continue to do this, I will be mad and I will cut you out of my life." Faye said, as she breath deeply after saying all that.

It is clear, the tears in Yoko's eyes are clear and indeed falling.

"Faye? What are you talking about?"

Faye turned around, she saw Lux. She tried to approach her, "Lux, let me expla—"

"What the hell is this?!" Lux wanted to cry, but she can only stop her tears to fall.

"P'Faye?!" Yoko grabs Faye's hand, and Faye was totally shocked.

Lux scoffed, "Oh, okay. Now you guys have a relationship?" Lux was clearly mad, but only stopping herself. Faye was shocked, she shook her head, "Lux, honey. No! We don't!" Faye stated, as she throws and withdraw away from Yoko.

She tried to hold Lux, but Lux distances herself from Faye. "Stay there Faye, I don't want any trouble...."

Faye do as she says, "I thought I could trust you. But Yoko? Why? Just why, Faye?"

"Lux, it is not what you think, we don't have any relationship!!" Faye tried to explain, "then why tell her that you would cut her out in your life?"

"You clearly misunderstood it!" Faye tried to point her claim, "oh I had enough!" Lux said, as she took out the ring that Faye gave her.

"Enjoy your solitude, Faye! There will be no wedding!!" She said, and then left.

Faye was in total disbelief, she can't even process it in her head, why so sudden. Lux did not believed her, and it questioned her if Lux truly loves her or not. On the other hand, Yoko looked at Faye with pity, as she was about to approach the crying lady, Faye stops her and tried to limit the anger she felt.

Faye shout at Yoko: "Do not come near me again!" She uttered, and then walk away from Yoko.

And after a few moments, the incident happened, where Yoko was riding the horse and a sniper started shooting. Faye was shocked, instead of running away with the people, she took the gun of a dead bodyguard and shoot an intruder. She pull Yoko down in the horse and saw her head, bleeding a lot.

"Yoko?"

"P'Faye?" Yoko's voice was indeed weak, and she suddenly closed her eyes.

The shooting continued, and Faye was left with no choice but to run away with Yoko in her arms, it was dangerous, but she risked it. She took Yoko in her arms, and the throw gun away.

End of the flashback

Faye really felt upset and angry, and what makes her upset even more is seeing Yoko. But she couldn't even react, the crown princess who favors the daughter of Duke Chao, must be not be angered.

"Khun Faye, I'll leave my cousin to you for a while. I'll just buy something outside." Marissa said, and Faye don't know what to say, she wanted to say something but she doesn't know how she would say it.

Marissa left Faye, and close the door. Faye really felt that she always has no voice against the young princess in front of her.
