"seoul is really big."

sunoo and ni-ki had moved in together after their final year at university. sunoo didn't have much, since his own family had left him for dust the day he came out to them. he was fortunate enough to have gotten in on a full ride to the university of his dreams, but it didn't feel as exciting once he had nobody to share his time with.

if he hadn't met riki in school, he truly doesn't know what would have happened to him.

"way to state the obvious, idiot," ni-ki says with a snort as the two of them stand in line.

the arena the concert is held at is absolutely massive, and to think that five normal boys around their ages had practically sold it out is mind-blowing. the idea of selling out his own show one day makes sunoo's stomach swirl.

"just look at this line," sunoo states, gesturing towards the sea of people in front of them. "i'm surprised we can all fit inside."

"well," riki begins, waving their two tickets in front of them, "with these bad boys, we'll be fitting inside the front fucking row!"

sunoo smirks at his best friend as they continue up the line. it moves fairly quickly for a concert stadium so packed. it's not like this is sunoo's first concert, though. he has been to many of the ones ni-ki had worked on choreography for, but he had been backstage for majority of them. and it's different when he's there as a supportive best friend and not a random fan in the crowd. this time, he really is a random fan in the crowd. and he's pretty excited, to say the least.

once they finally make it inside, ni-ki takes sunoo by the hand and drags him towards the correct section of where their tickets claim them to be. sunoo takes a moment to admire his surroundings and he even catches a glimpse of the merchandise table. he wouldn't mind purchasing a beanie...

"okay, we're up there!" riki speaks, trying to raise his voice over the terribly loud music already sounding from the speakers by the stage as everyone fills in. they arrived a bit late and the doors had already opened thirty minutes ago. only twenty-five minutes remain until the show starts.

"okay, let's go," sunoo shouts back, the two of them making their way through the maze of fans.

the music playing from the speakers sounds pretty good, but sunoo doesn't find himself paying much attention. the only thing on his mind is what the real concert is going to be like, when all these songs are performed live. will they start with an upbeat song? or maybe an unreleased one? will they interact with the crowd? he grows more and more excited with each thought, almost unaware of the fact that he suddenly has to use the restroom.

"hey, ni-ki?" sunoo yells over the music, turning to his friend that seems to be dancing along, "i'm going to find the toilets!"

he sends him a thumbs up as he continues mouthing the words to whatever song is playing on the speakers. sunoo quickly pushes his way through the sweating bodies of the people around him. the halls are quite empty now, probably because most everyone is inside the arena. however, there are a lot of twists and turns, and sunoo finds himself unsure of which way to go. some signs pointing him in the right direction would have been helpful, he chooses to just go a random direction and hope for the best.

he comes across two men's rooms, but the lines are really long. there's got to be one with a shorter line, right?

"TWENTY-FIVE MINUTES TO SHOW-TIME," an intercom booms, the robotic voice sending sunoo's heart racing. he can't miss the group's opening!

he's unaware that his feet have taken him to who-knows-where until a door labeled MEN catches his eye. it's closed and it has no line? seems like a win!

gratefully, sunoo enters the empty restroom and lets out a sigh of relief. it's nice to have a quick moment of peace and quiet before he has to go back out into the roaring stadium.

"just a little bit, just a little bit, singyeong sseuyeo neoran jonjaega," he mumbles to himself, just as he begins to zip up his fly.

being alone in the restroom, he doesn't really think much of mindlessly singing a bit to himself. plus, it's empty in there and the echoes of the room make his voice sound fantastic.

"sounds good."

...

hold up.

somebody else is in here?!

not knowing what on earth to say, sunoo stutters out an "u-uh, thanks," and mentally curses at himself in humiliation. i can't believe someone just heard me sing to myself in the toilets!! ugh, i feel like an idiot.

sunoo dries his hands and quickly begins to walk over to the exit, but he stops shortly as he catches sight of the one who must have been the one to have commented.

the slightly taller guy turns to sunoo and says something he doesn't quite catch. sunoo wants to respond, but his mind catches up with his eyes and then tells him to try and not faint on the spot.

park fucking sunghoon is standing at the sinks. from the group. enhypen. performing tonight.

"alright then..."

sunoo snaps out of his thoughts and makes eye contact with the blonde in front of him. or should he say, the famous idol he's about to watch on stage right in front of him.

"i'm sorry, but i have to go now," he says, walking past sunoo as he utters a "see you around, singer boy," over his shoulder.

and with that, park sunghoon is gone. he doesn't know who sunoo is, but he called him singer boy...so that counts as recognition, right? as weird as the interaction was, sunoo wishes he could have just said something, any little word instead of standing there like a deer caught in the headlights. and to make matters worse, he'll be standing in the front row at the concert.

it's fine, sunoo, he's not gonna be looking for you in the crowd.

yeah, everything's fine.

"there you are, sun! what took you so long?" ni-ki shouts as sunoo takes his place next to him, the enormous stage right in front of them.

realizing the boys would be on stage any moment, sunoo figures it'll be best to tell him at a better time. "long story. i'll explain in a sec-"

suddenly, a deafening rapture of cheers sound from around the arena as flashing lights color the stage and the lightsticks tons of fans purchased engulf the crowd. sunoo did not own one, simply because he never thought he'd be here at an enhypen concert in the flesh. his mind seems to instantly push the whole toilet encounter to the back of his head once he hears a voice boom from the stage speakers.

"areumdapgo hwangholhae banjjagineun nae gangmageun daiamondeu."

all five members emerge onto the stage, heaps of applauds and screams coming from every inch of the stadium as they do so. the group breaks out into an opening number of their hit "drunk dazed", one of sunoo's personal favorites.

the whole concert seems to fly by and it gets better with each passing song. sunoo and ni-ki jump up and down to the lyrics without a care in the world, enjoying every moment together. it's so easy to get riled up and lost in a song with your best friend, especially one as wild and outgoing as riki, who practically knew most of their complex dance routines by heart, lowkey shocking some of the fans standing next to them when he'd start dancing along.

and then the song "just a little bit" starts playing.

sunoo feels a lump in his throat form as he's suddenly reminded of the humiliating moment back in the restroom. his eyes land on the blonde-haired boy from the toilets and they can't seem to look away.

park sunghoon runs a hand through his hair as he sits upon the ledge of an elevated platform above the stage that the other boys were seated at. lee heeseung sings his solo piece of the song, but all sunoo can focus on is sunghoon. he's smiling, but he seems to be scanning the crowd in concentration. it makes sunoo's heart race, thinking that if he somehow manages to lock eyes with him, he'll want to melt into the ground from pure embarrassment. sunoo cringes thinking to himself. he'll probably see me and laugh, thinking, "oh look! it's the weirdo that sang my song to himself while he was taking a piss!"

sunoo suddenly dreaded the front row he's been so lucky to be standing in. his choice of a pale pink shirt that clearly sticks out on boy in the front row surrounded by a bunch of girls seems like a real pathetic move right about now. he wants to blend in with the rest of the crowd; he feels like a spotlight is centered on him and everyone can see it.

ni-ki is completely oblivious and keeps singing along to the song, making up his own little moves to the rhythm of the song as he does so. god, that kid never stops dancing. sunoo looks from his best friend back up to the stage and that's when sunoo's gaze catches his.

his dark brown eyes lock themselves with sunoo's and he suddenly feels his entire body shrink under its effect. his fear of park sunghoon finding him in the crowd comes true. sunoo gulps down a wad of air, unable to break his eye contact from the idol's.

"jakku niga gunggeumhaejyeo, meomchul su eopseo."

sunghoon sings each word through the microphone without looking away from sunoo. his eyes don't shift, they don't move. sunoo's not even sure if they blink.

neither do his, though.

"nae ujuui kkaejin teumeuro, georeowa nuneul matchugo. amureochi anke mareul geoneun neo mollasseo."

sunghoon lowers the microphone from his lips as jake takes the next verse. the crowd is a mixture of cheers and voices singing along, but sunoo's mind easily drowns it out because sunghoon is still looking at him. before he has time to think of what to do, a smile forms on sunghoon's lips and he sends sunoo what he is almost certain is a wink before finally turning away and joining in the song with the other boys.

sunoo's mouth hangs open as a mortified blush fills both of his cheeks.
