Chapter 9

                            -breakin dishes-

I paused. I take in a few breaths to steady my uprising anger towards brink. I can't lose control again. I grab Marie's hands from her tear stained face. And make sure that we are making eye contact. "Marie if anyone deserves to stay at this university it's you. And after everything Brink shouldn't have the fucking right to take your dream away like he did for me." I inhale a long and frustrated breath.

"So,what we are going to do is storm inside of his office and demand your spot back at this university because you deserve it. And god knows to teach that wannabe president snow that he is a piece of shit." I let out a small chuckle trying to loosen the mood. Marie looks up,forming a small smile. "Okay. Let's go." She says wiping away the final small tears still escaping her eyes. I quickly jump up with adrenaline while putting my hand out to Marie to boost her up to get her rightful place back in this school.

As we walk down the final stretch of the hallway towards the professors office. Both of us stop as we catch our eyes onto Jordan walking the opposite way back. Marie had already told me on the way how Brink kicked her out to protect the upper superheroes like Jordan and golden boy's reputation. Which only got me more mad but I managed to keep my cool.

As my eyes catch Jordan's. Marie stops right next to me. I break the contact with Jordan's eyes to put my attention on one of my best friends. "Marie-" I get cut off by Marie going closer to Jordan in a frustrated way. Which is fair enough. Especially if they knew or any of the others. "Do you know?" She steps closer. "What Brink is doing to protect you?" Jordan forms a confused expression. I guess they don't know after all. I watch as Marie just straight away takes off while shaking her head. I quickly move from my spot to follow her. As I take the first step I'm stopped by a voice. And I know exactly who it is. Great.

"Stella.." I turn on my heel to face Jordan. "You're back-" but I quickly cut them off in a hurry to catch back up to Marie. "Not for long but I have to go Jordan. I'll see you later." I start taking long strides to back to Marie as Jordan goes to speak once more. I catch up to Marie just in time as we both make it to the door to his official office. Taking a deep breath we open the door with a big swing.

Simultaneously our eyes widen in fear and shock. We watch as the blinding lights radiating off of Luke and Brinks bodies. The lights only last for not even a minute as me and Marie watch In horror of professor Brink turns into a pile of dust. The man was a bitch but damn. That's rough. We are standing like literal deers in headlights watching as Luke turns around facing us in an unreadable expression of guilt. A girl can pray for only brink though since he kinda just killed our principal and celebrity to a bag of bones.

Um but by the look on Luke's face. I say this is sorta the time you would want to start running. But of course we don't. "Look Marie, Stella. I h-had to do it." Luke says in a panicked tone. "W-we didn't see anything,right Stella?" Says looking at me with 'those' eyes.

"Yep didn't see nothingggg" I let out a panicked laugh. "Matter fact. I don't even know who you are-like whatttt I've totally never seen your face before. You're a complete total stranger. Like stranger danger much"I let out a laugh trying to pull my best smile.  I sound convincing right?

"You don't understand though, you don't know about the woods." Luke says as I can see him trying to convince us about the woods like he said. Luke continues on his rant about how Brink totally fell asleep with a cigarette and burnt himself to ash. I know this is a serious moment but come on- Who the hell is gonna see that smelly pile of ash and be like. 'Oh damn those cigarettes- turning people into the cremated pile of ash.' Like be so for real.

Marie starts back to her calm voice. "For sure.Our secret." I watch carefully at Luke's reaction. His slight movement of his head to the side. Now that's our sign to start running. Not wasting I grab onto Marie's wrist to drag her out of this hell hole. Just as I was about to pull her. We are stopped by Luke's whimpers of tears. Stuttering he speaks.

"Why'd you guys have to come?" He says through his whimpers. Yeah um so we better go. "Marie-come on." I let out in a quiet whisper. Marie continues to stare back at luke as his whole body engulfed in flames. Oh shit-

Marie and I make eye contact as if to say 'run' Just then we both make a beeline to the hallway running as fast as we can. What the f is the matter with this school. Just as we are running,Marie looks back but unfortunately hits Jordan. Pulling them both to the ground. Come on now of all times. I run to pull Marie back to her feet to continue running so we don't you know-die. "What the fuck?" Jordan says getting back onto their feet. Just then the yell of our names come down from the hallway of angry Luke on fire.

Luke stops in front of Jordan as they take a step forward tucking me behind their back in a protective matter. "Uh,Luke what's going on?" They look back at us wearing a confused expression. "Move." Luke says still only making eye contact with me and Marie. Yeah so I'm going to say that he is not going to come over and hug us out of love. But still Jordan stands their ground. "Not until you chill out." Just then you can hear the faint whisper under Luke's breath. "You're in on it too."

Am I the only one confused right now. In on what? I can see as Luke's last straw is plucked as he yells out. "MOVE!" He blasts fire towards Jordan Infront of me. I yell out. "Jordan!" Panic overplays in my body. I look in worry that is soon consumed by relief as Jordan switches towards their masculine form. Thank you lord. I watch as Jordan snaps his head back to us. "Go! Now!" Marie takes off running towards the exit of the building. But for some reason my feet are still planted on the ground.

Luke then soon releases another blast of fire. But before I can even think,Jordan steps in front of me blocking any sort of fire to getting to me. "What the fuck are you doing Stella?! RUN! Before you get hurt!" Jordan snaps out the concern and anger. You know what,no.

"Can you just shut up please! You're not going to risk your life for me. So I'm going to fucking stay here and help you!" I scream back. Jordan eyes soften to a slight. "Sunshine-" Jordan gets cut off by Mr.psycho doing a track star towards us getting ready to shoot another fire force towards us.

Without thinking. My body takes control and and moves in front of Jordan this time. Using one hand to make sure Jordan is behind me and the other shoots a red energy beam launching Luke into the line of lockers.

Did I just do that- I look down at my hand. Holy shit. I turn back to make sure Jordan is safe. "Um so that was fun. a-are you okay?" I form a quick smile. Jordan cups my cheeks in both of their hands. Looking into my eyes. They smile. "So is that a ye-" I'm cut off my Jordan smashing their lips against mine. My whole body is consumed with fireworks. But my mind is snapped by our ash burning killer is still on the loose. I pull away from this mind blowing kiss. Um.. " could you have any better timing?! Like honestly Jordan we have a killer who is about to wake up from the lockers and you decide to kiss me NOW?! Don't get me wrong it was well the most amazing kiss I ever had but STILL!" I let out in a huff.

Jordan's soft chuckle echos through the hall. "Well why don't we continue this after we stop Luke from becoming a killer." A little late but sure why not. Not even skipping a beat Luke is practically back to normal getting back up from the lockers locking eyes with me and Jordan. With a well murderous expression. Well isn't this just great.
