Chapter 14

"Shane-san, Your hand..!" he gaped. She shook it off and it stopped glitching before turning to him grinning proudly.

"Cool huh? Other than being a side effect, it's tuned in with my emotions. Turns out I can also control it."

He took a moment still staring at her hand, "And what does it do?"

A finger came under her chin, "Hmm.. I'm not sure." She tilted her head, "I was just upset because of the fight with Tenko and I decided to use my quirk a bit," She raised her hand, "then this happened."

It glitched again. She passed it through the table. It passed as if it was air. All might peered leaning a bit. "Maybe.." her gaze went to the city skyline. "Maybe it's a way home." All might was surprised at the guilty look that came on her face with those words.

"Why..?" He mumbled perplexed. Why is she guilty? He glanced inside the house through the glass doors. Is it because of..?

She became more serious turning towards him, "I want you to help me All might. I want to train my quirk and.." she rubbed the back of her head sheepishly, ".. honestly, I am new to the quirk thing. Sooo, I thought who better to teach me than the number one hero." She grinned at him expectantly.

"I would love to," he smiled, "but I don't think there would be time with me working around the clock and you working in the morning." Her head lowered. Of course.. he's a busy guy. The number one hero in this world.. she sighed, Well! Time for plan B!

"Actually Shane-san, I have--"

"I get it." She whispered in a broken voice, her hand clenched to her chest.

"Hai?" He flinched as tears went out of her eyes. "Shane-san, why are you--?!"

"I-It's okay, All might!" she cried out, "I under.. under.. under.. understand." She let out a wail making him cover one ear from how loud it was.

His smile strained a bit, "Actually--" Another wail of despair.

"Sha--" More tears. His eyebrow twitched in irritation. Can she just let him talk?!

He raised his hands to calm her down, "Look I--"

"BWAAAAHHHHHH- mmph!" he clamped his hand on her mouth. "Enough please.."

His head hung down for a second - "mmhm?" - before it snapped up to meet her with a huge smile making her flinch.

"mmmhmm mmhmm mhm mhmm"

"You are impossible you know that?"

"Mmhm." She shrugged.

If she would describe the smile on his face, it was part amused part exasperated. Somehow, it made her heart flutter a bit. "Seriously Keira, won't you stop your little games?"

Keira.exe stopped working.

Her eyes were wide like saucers as her mind went like a broken record. Seriously Keira-Seriously Keira-Seriously Keira- Seriously Keira--

He removed his hand noticing the frozen girl beside him whose face was turning red at an alarmingly fast rate. "I was going to say, " He pointedly looked at her, "That I have a solution."

Did he..? Did he just use my.. name? And.. And..

Fangirl level 2 unlocked!

She looked to the side with wide eyes. Why did he say it like that? Wh-what was that?! Nononono Keira. You're already attached to the kid inside! No need to get attached to a hunky, blonde, kind, great, am-- her eyes widened.

Shit.

"The problem is.. my schedule really is filled to the brim. But, I have a friend. He's been wanting to be my sidekick for a good while and he's currently working with me. Maybe he can train you. What do you think Shane-san?"

Silence.

Keira.exe not responding.

"..Do you have a fever?" he reached out to touch her face before she jumped off the chair with a squeak, her face scrunching in an almost constipated look.

"NOPE! I'm all good HA HA HA!" she couldn't stop the chuckles coming out. She had slipped to English without noticing, "Hahahaha um.. Yes okay. Let's do that! You're talking about Sir Nighteye, right?" he stared with a raised eyebrow before nodding slowly. How did she..? After a moment, he seemed to make the connection.

"Let me guess, he's in my future." that made her snap a bit out of the frenzy her mind had went to. Her gaze settled on the very interesting table beside them.

"so so.."

He sat down, his face conflicting before he seemed to make a decision. Her head tilted, half curious half still trying to eliminate the thought process that was going on in her mind. Keira and All Might sitting in a tree. She almost facepalmed. I have the mind of a freaking 8 year old! Snap out of it Kei--

"Actually, I met him a while ago and asked him to read your future."

K.I.S.S.I-- "Wait what?" his words registered finally. "Why?" The question had no accusation or anything. She was genuinely confused as to why he would want to know that.

"Insurance.. against.." he trailed off.

Her eyebrows scrunched together. "Is it really insurance though?" her head tilted a bit, "what if it showed me captured by All for one? Would it really be insurance?"

He froze at her words, she noticed, a dreadful expression coming on his face. "Uh.. that was a bit blunt, huh.." she muttered with an awkward laugh.

He shook his head determined, "That won't happen, Keira" A jolt went through her "And even if we saw it, we would take precautions against it!"

"All Might, don't you know that Nighteye's visions can't be changed?" Deku changed one in the future.. "Uh.. unless under very special circumstances." she added quietly speeding through the words but he caught it anyways.

"Well, these are special circumstances." She could feel he was going to be stubborn about it. It was the same feeling she got before he roped her into living with him.

"I don't know." she said, "I think this is a bad idea." The more she thought about, the more it felt gave her a bad feeling.

You scared of the future?

She jerked upwards in shock. Again. There it was. A voice that was not hers. Did she imagine it? All might was saying something but she could only see his lips moving, her entire being suddenly hyperaware of everything goosebumps breaking out on her skin. Surely it was her imagination, right? Was it.. just.. a thought that passed by?

Or was it.. ".. Keira?" A warm hand rested on her arm making her jump. She looked at All might before smiling, "sorry what were you saying?"

"I.." he paused, "If you're really not comfortable with it, we won't do it. I can just tell him to help you with your quirk." She blinked. well that was easy, too easy almost. Also that smile seems a bit too innocent.

"You sure?" she raised an eyebrow and he laughed his signature laugh, his bangs popping up, his body straightening.

"Of course!" She felt lighter. His laugh dissipated the tense atmosphere in a minute. It felt like she could breathe and she found herself laughing a bit with him.

They sat in comfortable silence.

"I gotta say, that was probably the fakest crying I've ever heard." He snorted after a while. She pouted hitting his arm before letting out a few chuckles as well before glancing at him fondly. "I'm not a crier and," she smirked, "Always have a plan B"

"Sneaky." He nudged her. She stuck out her tongue before smiling.

"Seriously though." She reached out to his arm laying her hand on it, "Thanks for everything All might. I mean it."

He smiled back feeling her sincerity. Moments like these truly showed him her heart. "You can count on me, Keira."

She choked. She hit her chest multiple times, "you need to stop doing that!"

She coughed a few times before finally calming down. Her face still felt hot.

"Doing what?" He tilted his head confused. Aww he looks so confused.

"My.. ehem.. name." She muttered feeling shy.

"Oh. Keira?"

Her eyes widened before she pointed at him accusingly, "Since when do you use my name anyways?! Isn't it always Shane-San this Shane-san that?!" She exclaimed her face red.

"Well, I thought we knew each other long enough. And in America you use first names." He then suddenly started getting gloomy, "or maybe.. we're not that.. close?" His face dropped and he looked like he was going into a dark corner or something.

Is he giving me puppy eyes? Seriously?!

Her smile twitched as she floundered a bit before scratching her cheek awkwardly. "No of course we're um.. yeah you can use it.. I guess" she looked down her face red not noticing the laugh that almost escaped All might before he clamped his hand on his mouth.

She shook her head before exclaiming, "Ugh! Let's not make it weird! Then I'll call you Toshinori!" She let out a breath. Man I don't like mushy stuff! She rubbed her arms before glancing at All might.

He had frozen making her snicker.

"Not so funny being the embarrassed one, huh Toshinori~"

She stuck her tongue out laughing. He snapped out of it rolling his eyes in fake annoyance but couldn't stop the smile growing on his face.
