Chapter 7
20:48, 22 July 2022She was back at the penthouse of giants. She was standing beside their luggage as Tenko walked around the place with All Might talking animatedly beside him. Keira stood awkwardly, her hand holding the other by the elbow. I should act normal. What is normal anyways?
She pursed her lips as she watched the boy getting excited but still keeping his reserved look. She didn't know how to help him but she felt responsible. She felt so responsible that it scared her. She blinked at the thought. Huh, never thought I would think like the run-from-commitment-type. Am I gonna discover I'm a villain in the end?!
She chuckled at the thought before wincing and deciding to enter the house. She went to the couch and sat down fiddling with her hands before fidgeting a bit before playing with a strand of her hair. She kept at this routine until All Might noticed her and decided Tenko should see his room. All Might had made him a room filled with toys and his merchandise along with a cute bed, wardrobe, and desk. Once he was sure Tenko was focused on the new games, he went outside to check on his second guest.
It was funny to see her fidgeting so much like a kid. She was sitting in the middle of the giant couch and looked very uncomfortable. He had to remind himself that she wasn't like other fans. He had essentially forced her to live with him in a way. Guilt knawed at him but he couldn't be lenient. This was the last relative of his master. The last piece of her on this earth along with One For All. He couldn't let All For One get his hands on him. No. He wouldn't.
The woman as well had become important to him. He couldn't tell her how grateful he is. No matter what he said, she could never understand how important this was to him. That's why.. the least he could do was ensure her safety. And anyways.. how hard could it be?
"I am here.. to make sure you are settling in well!" He boomed plopping next to her making the couch dip a bit. "Shane-san, I want you to treat this as home. If you need anything, please let me know. I want you and young Tenko to be comfortable and safe!" She nodded silently still fidgeting. The silence stretched and this time both of them fidgeted uncomfortably.
"All Might" he perked up immediately, "How long are we going to stay here?"
He deflated a bit, "until I can make sure you and young Tenko are safe."
She narrowed her eyes, "What so should I be expecting one year plus then?!"
He chuckled, "Already thinking long term Shane-san?"
"Is this deflecting?"
"eh?"
"Are you deflecting?" she had enough, "How long are we staying here?!!" she hissed and he leaned back a bit with his hands raised to calm her.
"Shane-san please calm down. The only way to ensure your safety is if you're here. All For One is very powerful and until I find him and defeat him, you and young Tenko should stay here." He turned serious, despite the grin on his face and her face set on a frown. She turned a bit away from him and he felt the urge to laugh.
"Now now turn that frown upside down!" he said grinning as she grimaced and pouted even more, "How about you try my special cream stew recipe? I made it especially for you and young Tenko!"
"No thank you." She said it automatically turning more.
"Oh.." she peeked at the man and almost cooed at his sad face. He looked so upset and she felt the simp inside her shout. His head was down and disappointment went out in waves. Are his bangs going down as well?! My fragile heart..
He looked at her and she felt guilt surround her, "I guess I'll just.. have to eat it with young Tenko.." She broke and with a defeated sigh she relented.
"I can.. try a bit.." she winced and jumped back when he straightened up and beamed.
"Fantastic! I'll go get young Tenko!" she shook her head sighing as her lips quirked up a bit.
And so she found herself splayed on the couch with a silly smile and Tenko sitting beside her. That was so good..! From the expression on the Tencchan's face, she could feel he had the same idea although it wasn't apparent as it was on her face.
"Onee-san." She turned towards him. "Are we staying with All Might?"
She peeked back at the man who looked comical in the kitchen washing dishes. Her gaze settled on Tenko, "Yeah. We're staying for a while with him."
The boy looked curiously. "Why?"
She winced racking her brain quickly, "Well.. because.." Shit! What do I tell him?! "there are.. some.. stuff.. I need to.. finish.. with All Might." He blinked and she resisted the urge to facepalm.
"What kind of stuff?"
"Adult.. kind of stuff" Is there anybody in this brain?! "Is that okay with you Tencchan? Staying here I mean.."
He looked down before looking at her, "You're staying here?" her eyes widened at the question and she almost didn't realize she was nodding.
"I don't mind."
He sat nearer to her and turned on the TV on a cartoon. Her expression changed rapidly as she felt fondness swell in her chest but also guilt and fear. What if she couldn't protect him? What would happen when she had to leave? She slowly put a hand on his head and started gently patting his hair. The boy immediately sat nearer and leaned on her. What's going to happen now?
It was only her and Tenko in the house after a while. All Might was out and about. She was surprised he had stayed that long anyways considering how busy he's supposed to be. Tenko had slept as the cartoons became background. The windows showed the night sky and the towers of Roppongi. She stood up, gently setting the boy's head down before going inside, getting a blanket, and covering him with it. She went to the bathroom and was reminded of how much luxury the number one hero had.
The bathroom was huge and it seemed the bathtub was calling her. She started the water and went to her backpack grabbing some pajamas.
As she went into the bathtub, she decided the thoughts could wait. For now, Keira would go with it. That was, after all, what she did best. Her hair was in a bun save for some strands that escaped and framed her face. Her whole body was submerged in the hot water as her muscles relaxed. Hmm.. Heroing pays well. I think I'm in love with this bathtub~! She smiled to herself blissfully. I could get used to th—
The door slammed open making her shriek as the giant hero barged in with his signature grin and a rubber duck.
"GET OUTTT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" she shrieked as the hero finally registered the woman freezing as his whole face became tomato red. He floundered his hand covering his eyes shouting "SORRY!" and running out of there, closing the door behind him.
He almost tripped over his legs while scrambling to get out of there as she covered herself with her arms. The door slammed with a final shut and she could hear her frantic breathing. Her shocked expression turned into a deadpan one.
"can't I just relax?" she pouted at the water that felt lukewarm now with the cold draft that filled the bathroom. After a couple of moments, she went out dressed in her PJs and ready to sleep. Once she came out though, she found the hero standing there and awkwardly smiling.
"Uhm.. Ehem.. Sorry Shane-san.." she noticed how he fidgeted and felt herself internally fangirling. He's so cute even after he scared the living shit out of me..
"No problem All Might. So, did you just arrive or..?" she trailed off not knowing how to lead the conversation from here. He was glad for the opening though.
"Yes! I am finally here! Do you want to have dinner?"
"Eh?"
They were at the terrace. She immediately fell in love with the view once he showed her. They sat down both of them with plates of the left over cream stew. They both said Itadakimasu before starting.
"Shane-san, I wanted to ask." She perked up giving him her attention. "How did you know about my master, and about young Tenko? Also, about..." he trailed off but she could feel the mood dampening as his thoughts took a dark turn.
"That's a bit complicated." She ate another piece. "I don't know how to explain it honestly.." she found herself smiling sheepishly as his eyes widened.
"Don't worry Shane-san! I am here to help! Just start from anywhere." Easier said than done big guy.. She looked away for a minute trying to think of the right words. She knew she wasn't that good with words but she can try right?
"I'm from another world." Okay, she said it.. She was looking at her plate as if it was the most interesting thing ever. It was definitely a better option than seeing the man's expression. Suddenly his chuckles started before turning into large guffaws that made her look up with a raised eyebrow. He was laughing so hard that she found herself laughing along nervously.
"Haha yes um.. what's uh.. what's funny?" she said playing with her fingers, her chopsticks now forgotten. Oh man, he either thinks I'm joking or a lunatic.. Oh shit! Should I run now while I still can?
"Good one Shane-san!" he grinned jokingly at her, "I almost believed that you know! You little jest!" she didn't know what to say.
"Hah! Yes that's me the jokester!" She punched the air with a stupid grin that filled her face. Somehow, her eye twitched every two seconds and she didn't know how to remove the expression off of her face.
He chuckled a bit more before telling her, "seriously though?"
"Ahaha.. um.." she smiled sheepishly turning to her food and taking another bite. "I wasn't um.. I wasn't joking." Somehow it came out meek but this time she forced herself to look at him squarely. His eyes kept searching hers but then his mouth went into an 'O' shape as he realized she was telling the truth. He opened his mouth and closed it before she added something as an afterthought.
"Oh also I know a bit of the future.. So there's that too.." she said it as if talking about the weather while All Might sat still in front of her. She peeked at him every couple of seconds before eating. She cleared her throat before looking at him worriedly,
"Sorry.. Did I break you?"
