Smile for me. (Fluff/ sad)

You hadn't been feeling like yourself lately, and it wasn't fun to experience. Recently you have felt like you have hit rock bottom and hated it. Usually, your boyfriend Dom can make you smile, but you had to fake it the past couple of days.

"Y/n?" Dom asked trying to get your attention. You were in your head and yous started to chew on your cuticles. "Y/n?" Dom asked again. You turned to look at him and hummed in response. "You alright?" for a moment it felt like time froze, you wanted to tell him no but at the same time you didn't want Dom to deal with all your problems so you faked a smile and nodded. "Yeah I'm alright." you said trying to sound as enthusiastic as possible.

Dom paused the tv show and looked you in the eyes trying to get a good look at you. Trying to read your body language. "Are ya lyin' to me love?" he asked in a worried tone. "No, I'm not. I'm fine, babe." Dom nodded and unpaused the show you two were watching. He laid his head in your lap and your focus was on the tv, trying not to think about anything but what was going on besides what was happening in the show.

Moments later the show was over and Dom slowly sat up stretching a bit. He reached for his phone and checked the time then frowned. "Its gettin' late... I should go." Your heart sunk and you looked at him giving him a soft nod. "Oh, alright. Drive safe," you mumbled getting ready to lie down on the couch but dom stopped you. "Gonna tuck you into bed first." he said with a smirk scooping you up bridal style. Usually, something like this would make you giggle or laugh but tonight it didn't. Honestly, it upset you because you knew he was leaving after this.

Dom laid you down in bed and covered you with the blankets. He pressed a kiss to your forehead and looked you in the eyes. Uh oh, there was that look of worry again. "Y/n.." he brushed a few strands of hair from your face. "Are you okay? Do you need me to stay?" yes I need you to stay. I need you here. Is what you wanted to say, but the words were stuck in your throat.

"No, its okay, go home and get some sleep Dom." You said with another fake smile. He placed a soft kiss on your lips and caressed your cheekbone. "Text me if you need me, okay? Goodnight, beautiful. I love you." he whispered before getting up and disappearing.

You waited until Dom was for sure gone before you could let out all of your emotions. Your head was a mess, you felt terrible for lying to Dom but you just didn't know how to tell him what was wrong. Truth be told, you didn't even know what was wrong. You just felt so mentally drained and so hurt you didn't know what to do with yourself. You rolled over in bed and grabbed your pillow, wrapping your arms around it as if another person was in bed with you. Dom specifically.

You nuzzled your face into it and you couldn't help but let out all the bottled emotions. Suddenly you hear the door open and you freeze. "Sorry forgot my inh- babe? Hey hey what's wrong?" it was dom. He noticed you were upset. He crawls in bed with you and he brushes strands of hair out of your face. "Babe.. talk to me." he said in a loving tone. "I wanna make it better, cmon whats the matter?" you closed your eyes and pulled the blanket up over your face. "Im sorry." was all you could say to him.

He pulled the blanket off your face and laid down with you, holding your body close to his. "I'm here, y/n. You have nothing to be sorry for. whats the matter?" he asked again. "I dunno.." you whispered. "I just don't feel like myself. I feel drained and unmotivated. I feel a bit useless and unworthy. I dunno I just have a lot going on in my head.. i didn't wanna tell you cause I don't want you to deal with all my problems." dom nodded along and caressed the small of your back, listening to what you had to say. "Its okay, I understand. You're just overthinking some things babe,its anxiety but listen to me... You're loved, and you're worthy, and you're amazing. Okay?"

You look at him and shrug. "I don't feel like it thought I-" he cut you off. "You are. I promise." he kissed your forehead and wiped your tears. "Smile for me beautiful." he whispered. You forced a smile and he shook his head. "a real smile baby. Come on." he said as he started to tickle you. You couldn't help but giggle quietly and smile. He stopped and looked at you, admiring your facial features. "Theres my beautiful girl." he whispered before placing a soft kiss on your lips. "I love you Dom." you said with a bright smile. "I love you too y/n. now go on, get some sleep. Ill be right here."
